I served on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower CVN-69 and was pre-comm on her. But back to bein a parrothead...you're right. | Comments: | I live in the Philadelphia, PA area. I became of Jimmy Buffett in 1981 in Ft Lauderdale, FL. My brother lived there and I went down for vacation. We went to the Sunrise Theater to see Jimmy. I had no idea who he was. It was just Jimmy, no Coral Reefers. The stage set was a couch. Jimmy came out in a bathrobe and played. It's was great! Not only did I become a big fan, but I began buying his vinyl records and introduced him to my friends. Turned my soul mate into a Parrothead about 5 years ago. We got married in April, 2002 in Las Vegas. We went back to Vegas this year to celebrate our first anniversary. Jimmy was actually playing in Vegas that night. We got tickets and, as always, he was great.

The fraternity brothers used to gather in a circle with their arms around each others shoulders and we'd sing "A Pirate Looks at 40" together, just enjoying the cameraderie. My best memories are of trips to Clearwater, FL, and St. Louis, MO, with Buffett on the tape deck. Oh, the stories.... I managed to go to both concerts this year at Starlake Amphitheater near Pittsburgh, PA. Jimmy is the man! He has brought so much joy to my life with his songs (or shall we call them stories?) I also go all out at his concerts with the Parrot Head Madness. The trouble is: Jimmy once a year is JUST NOT ENOUGH! I'm glad to meet you and proud to be a "fellow Parrot Head".
