| Comments: | I lost my daughter on November 26, 2007 just 3 days before her 21st birthday. I too lost her to an automobile accident. Her name is Krista Hannibal of Benton, AR. I miss her so much and I was looking on the internet tonight trying to find a words to read that would make me feel better from those that may have lost a child before me when I came to your web-site. It's unbelievable that I found your's for your daughter Lena who lost her life in an automobile accident just before her 21st birthday. Not only that they were close in age and a both were involved in a wreck but how the wreck happened. Someone had stopped suddenly in front of my daughter which caused her to jerk her car to the right, but unfortunately for her the City of Benton, AR had not warned any of the hundreds of thousands of people who drive this road everyday that there was no shoulder and no protection from the 10-15 drop off the side of the road. The Ford Explorer that she was driving provided her no protection during her roll over either. I can only hope as you did, that God took her instantly and she did not suffer.
I'm left with anger at how she died but I am so proud of what she was able to accomplish in her 21 years of life. I know God has a plan for all of us and now looking back I see just how well planned out that night was. She filled our lives with such joy and love. Everyday I seem to have some what of a melt down and I ask myself "will this be like this every day?" I have a son who is 15 his name is Ben and I know I have to be strong for him and my husband Chris and I seem to manage that most days by the grace of God I know. I would love to know how to create a web-site like you have for your daughter Lena who is such a beautiful young lady. There is a facebook group called "RIP Krista Hannibal", but I would love to tell my story and honor her with a web-site all of her own. My daughter is currently a senior at Stetson University.. The problem is that her mother hid her from me and made a bum her life "JR is my dad" While not say"d it is totally implyed. I dropped everything in my life to come to Florida and to let her get to Know me. It's been a year and a half and my daughter while recognizes me she completely pulls away from me. She had nothing in her apartment when I got here and is now doing very well . I hooked her up big time!!! When I go over your site, my tear is falling down. I had two children, the oldest is 17 years old girl, and younger one is 12 years old boy. I understand how you feel in between mother and daughter. I am so sorry for you. I know it is so hurt and broken heart of losing the family member. When I 33 years old I had cancer; in 2002. So that why I understood how you¡¦re feeling. Please know that I know how you feel and my heart aches for you. Believe me when I say your pain would be the same had Lena had a child and you lost that grandchild. I lost both parents, a husband, a brother, but my life was devastated and will never be the same after I lost my first born and oldest granddaughter at age 18. The searing pain will never heal, but God in his mercy will grant us days when we can be normal and keep our minds busy. I hope you will find ways to cope with your loss.

It has been a while since I have written anything although I check the site out often for comfort or maybe to refresh because I'll always remember. I still have a picture of the two of us on my rear-view mirror that was taken the day before the accident. I feel as though she is my safety bubble while I am driving. Her 26 birthday, would have been, just past a few days ago and so did mine. Lena past right before both of us were going to turn 21. My 21st was not the one that I had originally planned I know she was there. I am more writting because I dont want Colleen to think that I have forgotten...by any means that is definitely not the case. If anything, I think about her more and more as the time goes by. I cant even begin to explain the tremendous amount of knowledge that she has brought me...in all definitions of the word. Yes, it took me a while to dig myself out of the hole I had crawled in after she passed but with a pat on my back, I have finished college and now have a very good job and own my own house. My main reason for this entry was to try and make some sort of contact with Colleen again. I have been by her old house and I know she no longer lives there and the email I had has changed. The thing is, I moved shortly after she passed to Sacramento to finish college as well as to get away, at the time. Sometimes people have to dis-associate themselves for the place, people, and things that bring back all the memories but Lena her mother have always been a very big part of my life and always been in my heart and I pray that Colleen has been able to have some sort of closure, but how much closure can you really have after loosing your only child. | Comments: | Hello my name is Susan and I started this group for a very dear friend of mine whose son was murdered and she is still seeking Justice. If you need Justice for a loved one that you have lost I encourage you to join this group. Or if you have lost a loved one to suicide, car accident, accidental death, DUI, murder, My hope is to get people together for support and to share information on what or who they know that might be able to help someone else receive Justice for their loved one. Or might be able to comfort someone in there time of need.

I never got my chance to get to know him as a person, nore will i ever. Losing anyone is so hard to acccept, my grandmother died to weeks before my son so it was a very tough two months for me. Your daughter is beautiful, God is taking care of her now, and she will be waiting for u with open arms. I try to believe that myself, you take care and keep strong cause its the only way to carry on. I will think of u always.
