| Comments: | I spent 4yrs. in the TDOC system. I've been out for 2&1/2 yrs. now. I've been in and out the system and know personally how crooked "the system" is; There's a saying that offenders have, "they call it justice(justus)but the real deal is just us >against them." It's madening that a poor man has no chance at winning his freedom. The state has an unlimited resource to put people behind bars. A person living in poverty doesn't have a chance in hell. What? A pudlic pretender? I meant public defender; doesn't put in the time and energy it takes to actually free someone, especially if the D.A. is real determined to put someone away. Then on top of that it's all political. Notches on the bedpost. But I firmly believe that D.A. will be judged accordingly and he/she will not be happy! I'm an "ex-con" and I'm dealing with that for the rest of my life. I reformed myself cause prison is gruesome and I wanted more out of my life! It's hard though cause every time I get pulled over the police try to find any reason they can to get you sent back. I've personally know that they WILL lie. Just because they are the POLICE doesn't mean they aren't human. THANK YOU for opening up people's minds and letting them see the other side of the coin. ONE DAY! |

I guess the very hardest thing for me to understand is when America quit the whole "innocent until proven guilty" concept that we used to be so proud of. These days, we have men and women who are coerced into taking plea bargains and threatened with longer sentences if they don't do what they're told by their underpayed, overworked, less than enthusiastic PUBLIC DEFENDER. Granting parole only to those with extremely short sentences or to those they know will recidivate and return to prison. very informative. We are representing three brothers from rural Oliver Springs Tennessee,Albert, Charles and Eddie Phillips, who are currently in a Tennesee Prison. They have served 17 years for a murder that they did not or could not have committed.
