Good afternoon, I had the winning bid on Mobee. I will be getting my check to Doc next week. I bid on Mobee because he is the spliting image of my dog Blazer, (Jakester son... Alvin brother) who passed away a year and a half ago at 13. I have a Joe Black daughter but do not think it would be a good match, plus I have never had a chance to breed her and on top of that she's 5 now, so I will just herd with her. Do you know of a bitch that could be leased which would be a nice pairing? If I can not find a bitch thats OK. Bidding is fun and I like to donate. I would be interested in knowing what happened to him. Her grandsire on her dam's side just passed in the last few months also. | Comments: | Hi Tami! Found your site! Well, let me attest to anyone out there that we've had two of your dogs now, and there is no way we would go anywhere else to get a puppy. Jasmine was the best friend anyone could ask for: smart, beautiful, great with my disabled clients, fabulous with children of all ages, devoted, and absolutely fearless. What a blessing it was to have her for all the years we did. How many friends do we get in one life-time that love us unconditionally and are willing to die for us? Now we have our Little Minnie, who is completely her own "person": sweet and funny and playful and loving. Now if I can just talk Steve into getting one more dog... :-) You know we'll be headed again your way eventually (if not sooner). | Comments: | I have a bitch who is 1/2 sister to Steinthal's Night Moves. She is Tasha to Ch Brickwood's High Point Ace. Currently she is 18 months.
I plan to X-ray and OFA ASAP and breed her on her next heat, or the one after. I feel she is a femanine Seger. Currently she is un-pointed, she keeps coming into heat just when she should be in the ring but does not look her best. I live in Miami and am hoping the January circuit in Fla will be her time. I am very interested in seeing Maphisto's pedagree. I have been around GSD's most of my life, but have not had the dog and the money at the same time. I grew up in the Pittsgburgh and DC areas and spent much of my childhood with Amber's dogs and Doppletay's dogs. They are my standard of what is good. My Steinthals Mernydex Dark Angel, Liddy, is much of what the standard calls for. Balanced, angulated, no lifting of front at all, no hitching or locked hocks in the rear. Dark blanket, very femanine without being overly refined. Well boned, but not over sized. She is one of the best tempered dogs I have known in many years, I thank Leslie de la Veis for her often. She swims for her primary excersice and bikes too, to feel the ground under her. My hope is to get a litter our of her between my sons' bar mitzva's. They are demanding events and I am doing my first one now, the second in spring 2005. I hope to have her finished before then, but she does have bad timing with her heats, so it is hard to say. She is the only bitch from her litter that is ring worthy, the other bitch was placed as a pet. My mother has a male from the litter, but he is maturing more slowly than she has, so he is not out yet. I have been told often to keep her out of the specialty ring, but I have been disappointed by what I have seen there anyway lately. The dogs are dramatic, but not correct. I have had several people tell me your dog is better than that. I have shown her at specialties and done well, if she was up for it. Henry Dancosse liked her in Tampa, and she has placed well several other times. Michelle Billings gave her a Best Op but there were no point that day, at the Palm Beach all breed, March 2003. Scott Yergin and Bart Bartly both like her for all breed finishing. I feel she will be capable of specialty wins when she is mature. But I would like her to finish first and have a litter to mature her, then special her in specialties later. I will gladly send you pictures if you would like upon receiving an e-mail address I can use to attach files to. After looking at some of the greatest dogs in the breed, in their own kitchens and at shows, I may not have the track record many others have, but I do think I know what I am looking at. After watching our own Amber's Robin littermate for 10 years, and her pups, I feel confident in saying I have a bitch that will be good for the breed if bred to the right male. Liddy has some of the best front angulation I have seen in way too long. I am hoping to find a dog who can compliment her front with his own. Maphisto has the front I am looking for, from the pictures I have looked at on your site. I do not often see fronts I truly like. I do not go in for drama in a dog's gaite, I go for a dog that is balanced and can use what he/she has for a day and a half to get the sheep off the mount and to the barn for sheering. Liddy herds my male, who is neutered and my kids. She swims for about 15 minutes every other day, I worry about her coat. She has a very full outer coat, even with the swimming.
