Just a reminder to get your registration forms in soon. The Waterfront Hotel has set aside 75 rooms. We are getting a lot of positive responses, but need those registrations and reservation to make a commitment. We have worked out a 30 day cancellation policy with the Hotel, so we won't find ourselves in the previous dilemma as with Innsbrook. When you make your reservation, the Villages will send you a packet and a CD about the Villages. Meanwhile, Saudades 2006, the big bash in honor of Dr. Brown, will be held at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio between August 6 - 12, 2006. Just EIGHT MONTHS AWAY! So start saving now! You'll need to renew your passports, get visas, etc. So do it now and avoid the expensive fees to expedite everything! Go to the official EA school site for more information. |

| Comments: | Barulho Brasileiro is definitely a gathering of alumni from ALL American Schools in Brazil. Once I receive an official mission statement from the leadership of the organization, I'll publish it online. The periodic update of this site contains information published in the most recent Barulho Brasileiro Newsletter. The "EA 2002 Saudades" event was the most recent, so it received the press.
Alumni from all schools are in attendance at the Barulhos and great time is had by all. Barulhos are sponsored every four years, I believe. So don't miss them!!! |

I graduated from EARJ in 1959 and, after living in Brazil four more times, have settled recently in Brant Rock, MA on the South Shore of Massachusetts 35 miles from Boston. The O'Day family had four members participating in at least some of the Saudades 2002, Sharon, David, myself, and our son Alex, who attended EARJ two times. It was "um barato" and I think most people are still coming down from the high that occurred (now four months ago) in August. My wife Judy and I have two kids over 30, Monica and Alex, living in São Paulo and we get to Brazil frequently, which makes us very lucky. We now have two Brazilian grandchildren after 4 generations of O'Days who lived there without having been born in Brazil. I'm fortunate to correspond with some of my classmates on a regular basis through e-mail and we've had a few get-togethers too. EARJ is a real Institution and has strongly influenced all of our lives. I'll be happy to hear from any of my old acquaintances through this book. Best regards, Bill |
