Been playing recreationally about 40 years. I enjoy going to your web site to see new cues and go back and check out the gallery. Never gets old. I hope to one day purchase a cue from you. Until then, keep up the good work. Mike Foley

Comments:I have been waiting to get a pool stick from u since I was sixteen. I am now thirty and I havent played since I use to work at a bar. I remember one of the guys I played with had bought a used Tim Scruggs sneaky pete stick and he let me play with it and was the best cue I had ever played with. I used to work at the Islander Inn on Millers Island from when I was 14 until I was 18 and learned how to play pool on an urban kay bar table and getting my but kicked buy the owner and all the guys from route forty that played pool league there and they were not busch league guys either. I live in Dundalk and grew up watching Cigar Tom play at Running Out Billiards where I spent the rest of my time when I wasn't in school or working. I eventually turned out to become a pretty decent pool player and started holding my own against the guys at the bar. Any way I have been waiting a long time to have you make me a cue and I think this year might be the year because your cues are the ones I have been dreaming about since I was a kid. I even came into your shop one time and got to meet you which I thought was pretty cool but I didn't have the money to buy a cue from you. Anyway keep up the good work because you are a legend to a lot of pool players especially the ones from Baltimore!

I own two now and plan on owning more. I have around 12 cues in my collection and they are the spotlight. Keep making fantastic cues Tim and I hope I get to try one of Mike Cochran's cues soon.

Comments:Mr. Scruggs, I recently bought one of your cues that is an older, used cue-A Sneaky. I had read so many times how great your cues are that I couldn't resist this to try it. The cue hits very nice! I was wondering if you would make a new shaft for this cue? I've read that you do a new taper that people really love. I also read your disclaimer that you do not work on your cues if anyone else has worked on them. I have no reason to think this cue has been worked on by anyone else, but I do not know its history. Thanks, Ken Peters

Comments:Hi,this is probably a strange question but, years ago Mike Massey came thru our town and my cousin purchased a "sneaky pete" from Mike.He passed away last month and his wife asked me to clean out his closet and small den.I found the "sneaky" pete cue(along with some other cues and stuff)and her's the weird part:there is a shaft with a small clear "window" that has the "TS" logo inside it.I was with my cousin at the pool room when he got the sneaky pete, and I had forgot he even had it.Is this a shaft you made for something else or something?I can't find anymore cues or cases in there,It's a mystery to me.Thanks,Scott.

Comments:I have always dreamed of having a scruggs cue since moving to Maryland, but probably could never afford one. An old military injury flared up causing me to be broke and homeless. I am starting to get back on my feet so maybe one day the dream can be a reality. One of my BCA league teammates Harry Rey told me that if you haven't played with a "scruggs" , you haven't played. So I keep playin with my piece of garbage Meucci in hopes of one day getting a scruggs. Good job Mr. Scruggs for having a name synonymous with superb, worldclass cues.

Comments:I found a cue at a garage sale, it was kind of plain looking, no wrap, no weight markings, no manufacture's name, black joint connectors, just an odd looking "TS" on a 1/4 inch white band at the butt plate. I bought it to convert it into a break cue. My son had me check the internet for TS pool cues where I was introduced to the world of Tim Scruggs cues. I contacted Tim & Mike about my find, after looking at some pictures Mike figures I have a 'Purpleheart' cue from the early 90s. This WILL NOT be used as break cue. I had been using a 45 year old Brunswick Wille Hoppe cue. Now I have 2 cues to love. My dad has always said "the stick doesn't make the pool player, its the guy holding the stick" I have to add that great equipment sure doesn't hurt. I'll match my cue to anything he or anyone at the poolhall has. Thanks Tim & Mike

Comments:Dear Tim, I recently purchased one of your hustler cues. First, I love the cue. I think it may have been made in the early 90's, but I am not sure. I was wondering if 1) you could put an ivory joint on it. 2)if that would make the hit stiffer. 3)if you would recommend this alteration. I am an avid player, and I completely trust your judgment. Two thirds of my team play with your cues, and we all swear by them. Thank you for your time and your remarkable abilities as an artistic creator.

I even sent it back to you to be refinished and you did a great job. several people have tried to buy it but I'll have it when I die. I need to buy a new shaft but the joint ring you said you did not have any more. my question is do I need to send you the whole stick to get the joint rings matched up- or can you make one to match the one I have now. The shaft I have now is ok but I need two and want them all to match even if I need to send the butt and shaft I have and get them all replaced. Also I want to know if you make jump-break sticks. Comments:I've never had the pleasure of playing with any of your cues but I have admired the beauty and quality of your work for many years. I personally enjoy some of the older cuemakers designs with razor sharp points, ivory Hoppe ring. I consider myself lucky enough to have been a teammate of Bob Runde's when we won the KPBL City Championship two years ago, and also having owned some of his cues along with Joel Hercek, Ed Young, Southwest, and Gus Szamboti. I feel your cues are among the best as are some of the aforementioned cuemakers. Hopefully someday I'll be able to add one of your cues to my collection. Thanks, Terry Nixon

Comments:Mr. Scruggs, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF YOUR CUES, I HAVE A SNEAK CUE OF YOURS. I DIDN'T BUY IT DIRECTLY FROM YOU BUT I DO HAVE ONE AND LOVE THE WAY IT HITS EVERY TIME. I MAY POSSIBLY SELL THE CUE, IVE HAD OFFERS OF 350.00 AND 400.00, BUT NOT QUITE SURE WHAT IT SHOULD OR WOULD GO 4. I JUST HAVE TO THINK LONG AND HARD BECAUSE OF THE NATURAL FEEL OF A GOOD STROKE AND HIT WITH THIS CUE FEELS. WELL ANYWAY, THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A GREAT HITTING CUE AND IF AND WHEN I GET THE CHANCE I WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER ONE.

Comments:Hi Tim i have a rambo style sneaky pete that i bought in 1995 and i love it. The man that owned the pool hall that i worked at had purchased a ts custom cue in 1983. it was a beautiful cue. So when i desided to purchase the sneaky pete that he ordered from you i had to buy it. i have to admit that the sneaky pete hit just as well as his custom cue. Thats when i knew that you put just as much care into the sneaky petes as you did your custom cues. I know you have quit making the sneaky petes but i hold a special place in my heart for the one that i have. I have been saving my money to order a custom cue of my own. but i am a ways away from ordering it. Thank you for the wonderful cue i have now

Comments:I first hit with one of Tim's cues about 10 years ago at a billiard club in San Francisco that had cues from every high end cue maker, and I hit with all of them.(no names mentioned) Selecting a cue is like buying speakers for a high end stereo system. It's all in the eye of the beholder, so to speak. When I first spoke to Tim, he helped me understand that a standard 58 " cue was too big for me, based on the info I provided , and that a 57" would probably fit me much better and it sure did. I've been using it happily ever since. All cues are made with wood, butts, shafts tips and all the rest. The differences between makers are, however, huge. I can't explain it. For me there is jsut something special about the way a Scruggs cue hits and feels when you use it. Solid, stable predictable, and of courses gorgeous. Sure there are tons of different cues out there, and the price of a custom cue may not be for everyone. If you havent hit with a genuine custon cue, try it, you'll see what I mean. When you do, you can't go wrong with a Tim Scruggs cue. They are truely useable works of art that will always have considerabele inherent residual value. And NO you can't have mine. Greg

Comments:Tim and Mike, I would like to thank you both for the wonderful cue! I love it!!!! My cue has everything I asked for and more. The attention to detail that you guys put into my cue is awesome! When I went to the pool hall the other day I had at least 10 guys asking can they see my cue. That really meant a lot to me and it should mean a lot to you both for the quality of work you guys do. You guys are the best. P.S. Mike thanks for the e-mail and the pictures. Thanks again. Even more, the crafstman that it must have taken for this cue. I wish I had gotten a picture of it so I can send it to you so you know what I am talking about. Your cues are some of the best, if not the best cues, I ahve seen today!
