| Comments: | My Grandfather's mother was Elma Sophie Blomquist. I found her birth as being in Beltrami county Minnesota on March 20th 1908. She married George Robert Blaisdell and she died Nov. 13th 1967 in Hennepin county MN. Her mother's maiden name is listed as Baklund. I cannot seem to locate any census records for 1910 or 1920 on her. She is listed in the 1930 census as Blaisdell. Does anyone have any information on her and her parents, I am trying to add to the family tree, please e-mail me if you can help.

| Comments: | My maternal grandfather's name is Charles Joseph Blomquist. I know he had a sister named Joy. His parents divorced and the judge ordered that he and his sister be put into an orphanage because his parents both wanted them and couldn't come to an agreement. The judge decided that neither one of the parents would get them. I haven't found much about his family. I know that he married Helen Rose Marie Martel and they had 16 children together. Maybe we are related somehow. |

I heard you have been to Skåne in May. It´s a pity we didn´t know. In Långaröd near Önneköp my cousin Uno Stark is living and he knowledge to give you correkt information about the Granberg family from Önneeköp. If you like I can give you a full list then the ware boran and then the died and where they lived. You hade also sent a picture on the Granberg house in Önneköp. I must say, what I know, there is no Granberg house. In the end of the street of Klockemagarens gränd there is there is a wood- and grass feild and behind the fence is the ground and what remains of the Granberg house. If you like you can send me a picture on the house and we will control if it is correct. Agaut Martin Granberg born 1892 died 1976. He was leaving Sweden 1911. And there is a sad story behind it. My I correct your list about Ola and Bengtaas children Nels; born i Skarhult Skåne 1881 died in Spokane 1963 IDA Charlotta, born in Östraby Skåne 1883 died in Kopenhagen 1965? Axel Viktor Vilhelm, born in Långaröd 1885 died in Everöd 1968 His son, Edvin Viktor Vilhelm. born 1915 in Everöd died 1973. ELINA Christina born i Långaröd 1887 (nota bene) died in Landscrona 1982 Olof Bernhard born i Långaröd 1890 died in St Pauli förs. Malmö. Martin Julius, born in Långaröd 1892 died in Balaton MS USA 1976 ANTON Mauritz, born in Långaröd 1895 died in Vitaby Skåne 1947. My Blomquist ancestors settled in the town of Woodville, Wisconsin in 1903. | Comments: | Nice Web site! I have several Blomquists in my family tree. The Blomquist line in my family started with Gustaf Robert Blomquist (b. 1871 in Stockaryd, Smaland, Sweden. He emigrated to Brockton, Massachusetts and married my great grandmother's sister Amanda Anderson (also from Sweden) in 1891. Their children, born in Brockton and Quincy, MA were:
Amy (1892, Knute Edward (1895), Florence (1897), Amy (1900), Helen (1902), Gustaf Stanley (1908), Roy and Vivienne (twins b. 1912). The first Amy and Roy died as children. Gustaf Robert Blomquist died in Massachusetts in 1951 and Amanda died in CT (Groton, I think) in 1965. Several in the family moved to Connecticut. Sadly, I lost my last contact with this branch of the family, when Vivienne died in Feb 2000. Vivienne was a professor at Wheaton College, and I believe others in the family may have attended Wheaton College. I would love to hear from anyone who believes they may descend from this family! | Comments: | Hello, I think I stumbled across your site a loooong time ago. I even sent an email. I see since then you have added a guestbook. It is interesting to read through comments from other "Blomquist"s.
My Grandfather Edwin Michael Blomquist came over in the late 1800's through Ellis Island in New York. He married Pauline Daniels from MN and I am fairly certain he had some brothers or cousins living in MN. Ediwn, or E.M. Blomquist lived nearly his entire life in Michigan's Upper Penninsula which is farily similar to the land he came from Sweden. I have been told Blomquist means "blooming twig" in Swedish, but I never bothered to cofirm it. This may be jsut another one of my Grandfather's jokes I still cherish so many years after his death. I work in a very large company and used to see a Diane Blomquist (same as my Aunt) in Minnesota working for the same company. an't find that any more. However, a few years ago my company bought a Swedish company and suddenly I was surrounded by Blomquists in teh company directory. Many of the Swedish Blomquists use a "V" instead of a "U". This causes me to receive many Swedish emails for a Dan Blomqvist in Sweden, usually in Swedish. I'll check back here from time to time. Feel free to check my site as well. Not much for Family history at this point. My Father claims to be working on some family history and my uncle traveled to Sweden this mast summer to visit some of our distant relatives. Perhaps I can include some of that information on my site in the future for others to review. |

I am not a seasoned geneologist, but have gathered some notes on my ancestors. As I was looking for information on my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather by the name of John Mitchell. I noticed your Mitchell information about your ancestor William Mitchell. Information that I have about John Mitchell was that we was born around 1770 in Virginia, then later moved to Gallatin, Ky. I couldn't help but wonder for a minute if William and John Mitchell may be brothers? I then noticed your information on John Spearman Rutherford. My records indicate that he was my also one of my ansestors. He married a woman by the name of Jane. They had a daughter by the name of Mary Rutherford (commonly called "Polly"). Mary (Polly) Rutherford married Dudley Mitchell, who was John Mitchell's eldest son. I am a decendent of Dudley and Mary (Polly) Mitchell.
