| Comments: Toastmasters does to you, what extreme makeovers does on TV. It changes you dramatically if you let it. But, you have to be willing to tear everything down, reconstruct things from the beginning and tear down those walls of fear we can sometimes build on ourselves. The process can hurt quite a bit, and you have to be patient, positive, persistent and remember what the end result can be...If you stick to it, you will be amazed at the trasformation you will give yourself!

I just returned from officer training here in the Central Division of District 65 (upstate New York) and reflected on how I missed all the wonderful mentors and friends back in Chicagoland District 30! Beth Steele-Deb Churan-Susan Gillen...many more! Thought I'd check in with the web site and was "wowwed" to discover your achievements as #1 in the USA! I can say I knew you when. Congrats to Charles Brooks and the current leadership. I don't think I'll make it to Reno this year but look forward to seeking you (plural) out in Toronto in 2005. We've got a new company club going, where I'm serving as sponsor and VP-ED--getting back into TM after some time off to acclimate to the new surroundings. | Comments: Congratulations to all the officers and members of my former district on achieving #3 in the world (and #1 in the USA) this past year! As a member of District 30 for 16 years (up until June of 2001), I enjoyed some of District 30's earlier glory days (including our year as #1 in the world in 1990-91), and struggled along with many of you through the lean years in between. I knew the district would eventually make it back into the winners' circle again, and I salute hard work of all those who made it possible.
I am continuing to remain active in Toastmasters in Seattle (District 2) - I'm a member of both a regular and an advanced TM club, and hope to return to the district leadership track in the future (I went as far as Division Governor in District 30). I still miss all my Toastmaster family back in Chicagoland, and would love to hear from anybody who remembers me. |

It has been quite a while since I checked in on you. I notice all is well. We are now in District 47. We are doing great in our new Toastmasters Club. We helped Charter a new club and it is growing. Abdur is President and I am VPEducation. We did this once before in the EPA Club. We are progressing by leaps and bounds. We held our Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest last night. I was Contest Master and Abdur won first place in the Humorous contest. He was really funny, who knows, you may see him in the International Contest as a winner. Love to all, we'll be in touch. |

I foresee myself being successful in convincing the teachers how important it is to be in a union & I can see myself now including & you really should belong to Toastmasters too. :) I think I'll leave LA to attend the TM Convention in Atlanta, I can't see the purpose in coming
back home & leaving out.
