'Meaning' or 'consciousness' keeps flowing across universes (e.g., from newspaper to its reader and futher from his voice, to another persons' mind). You and me are newspaper with flowing consciousness, and changing ourselves in the process.
Ayurveda is life sciences where 'free' consciousness and 'lawful' physical media co-exist, and their opposite characters produce 'dis ease' or discomfort. In other words, life is like automobile, with driver as soul/ consciousness and vehicle as the physical meadia. If driver does not know destination where to he take the vehicle to, disease will be there. This is called JYOTISH DOSH or absence of knowledge of the destiny of the self. Albert Einstein. Gandhi lived long because they knew the destiny of their lives. Second, is SWASTHYA or 'to stay in Self' and use vehicle and maintain it. Third is CHIKITSA or accidental management when the drriver knows nothing about destiny and not knowing use of vehicle. This is also called medical sciences. I really enjoy your articles on Red Flags. I am a Nutritionist, Aromatherapist ,Massage Therapist, Reflexologist and Herbal Apprentice. My studies were in both England (Nutrition, Aromatherapy, Massage Therapy, Reflexology) and the States (Nutrition, Massage Therapy, Herbalism).I do a lot of writing, teaching and curriculum development. I really enjoyed reading your article on grapefruit seed extract and now, the article on fish oils. I attend a lot of nutrition seminars and come away mostly dismayed by the intensity of the supplement companies that are sponsoring them. Usually the theme is "food is tainted and bad; supplementation is good". Fish oil is a great example of this. they tell us that there is mercury in fish, but they molecularly distill their supps. so they remove all the toxicity. This is supposedly backed up by lab analyses that show people loaded with mercury from eating fish, but mercury free if they take supplements. my question to them would be: is fish from the shores of New Jersey the same as fish from Hawaii? And what about the fact that fish also contains other nutrients that might help us detox whatever mercury is in the fish?? Do indigenous peoples of island cultures suffer from mercury poisoning? I have not yet seen any stories on this. As an aromatherapist (I studied at the Tisserand Institute in England)I try to make products for individuals that will help them. here in the U.S. I am told never use anything that has parabens in it (base creams, etc.) and only use "natural" preservatives such as grapefruit seed extract". But is this necessarily better? From your article, I guess that this is not necessarily so. Thank you for bringing the truth of things to light. |

I have done some reading on ayurveda and find it is a wonderful resource for healthy living. I am not fully moved over because I need some mentoring or advice on how to integrate it into my life. I think you integrate Ayurveda with other practices and give advice based on them which I find synchs up with what I have learned about health.
