Toledobe's Barbituate in his pedigree so I had to check her picture out along with the others. I have remembered that particular name after all these years. He was my one and only Doberman and my 'child' until his death of old age in the mid 80's. I still have dogs, now breed horses and we all enjoy the country life on a 56 acre farm in mid south Tn. He came with papers and everything all for $150 dollar, He is a dream dog for me, When I was little my parents had a couple of dobes but never any pupies. I have always loved the doberman breeed but in my adult life never thought that I would ownen one. Now I have and I love him so much, I have learned that dobermans require patience and understanding. We were shocked and very sorry when we heard. My husband and I lost our dobe after 14 years, she was a great girl. Always full of love and energy. Many thought she was a very young girl even when she was 13 years old! We are looking for a black female and have not had much luck in finding one. Not for show or breeding, just to love. Any one local in Toledo (or near by) that you could hook us up with? Do you have any advise regarding the fawn Doberman? I have read about potential skin infections which are treated with anti-biotics. Not sure if that is the road we want to take. Thank you in advance for your information. | Comments: | Hi, I'm currently campaining my 3rd male dobie, Brimor Xecutive Privilege, that I purchased from Judy Brown. My first "show dog" from Soquel was campained until shortly after his 2nd birthday when due to a medical problem we ended up neutering him and because I'd been bitten by the show bug decided to get another puppy. Another male, this one came from Julie Stade, and he became Ch. BJF Love's Labours Lost CGC, TDI,. Once we finished the dog from Julie we sort of fell out of showing, and got into doing therapy work. However, last year Jager, my champ developed a brain tumor and following a series of seizures we had to put him down. Jager was 8 years old, then just 6 months later our older dobie had to be put down due to kidney failure. After the grief of losing both our boys so quickly I was a little heistant of starting back over but, now that we've got our new one...we're once again hooked. Only thing is, I really miss having two dobies. I guess I'm basically writing this to more of less put my request in for sometime in the not too distant future for a "female". I'd really like to finish off the one I've got now, (18 months old, just needs his majors) before I start off with another one. But Jana Dupre and her husband Nelson keep telling me I need to get a female and quit concentrating on just the males. So, I'm starting to ask around now because I know females don't grow on trees and good ones are especially hard to come by. So, please consider me for one of your upcoming litters! Some info on me: Spent 5 years as the president of the Greater Wichita Doberman Pinscher Club. I've shown both my dogs and puts points on each. I've trained and shown another male for a friend that purchased the pup from a breeded as a pet. I didn't think he was a pet! After putting most of the pups minor points on before he was 12 months old, he was given to someone else to finish....(no comment) We have 6 acres total, with 3 acres of 5' chain link surrounding our house. As we have no kids, our dogs are our kids and are spoiled accordingly. When we aren't home our dogs are kenneled in our basement so that weather and pests can't bother them. As the basement is a walk out it's both bright and airy. Jana Dupre is my handler as I seem to be too banged up to properly handle my dogs in the ring any longer. I do however, continue to train them myself. Along with going to fun matchs, and various training sessions and classes offered in this area. If you feel that you might consider allowing me to purchase a female in the future please be so kind as to send me a return e-mail. I'm not in a tremendous hurry but would be very much interested in a year and a half to two years. Additionally, I'm planning on retiring in 19 months so I'll have more time to devote to my dobies. I ve been studing Dobermans for about 3 months strainght and i think im ready to get on. I really like your Dobermans. I think Holly is a very nice Doberman too. I live in Indiana and Wish to prosue my handling with my own dog. Which a can train and show my self. Im willing to pay the amount you sell yours for but, im not for sure what that is i know at about all the other kennels they range from 1000.00 to about 2000.00 depending on the breeding. Im working out a deal with a breeder in indiana. That we co own the dog for $350.00 to pay for the ears and shot. but i have to agree to give a full litter back to her. I really want my own dog. But 350.00 isnt a lot of money for a Doberman. Im only 15 so therefore it takes time to save about 1800.00 $ i work at 2 Kennels right now hoping i can save enough to get me a Doberman. Im not looking for a health imfested dog. Thats why i came to you guys. i have been coming back to your sight and just lookin in amaze of your dogs. And the information you have on your sight. This is the saddest time in our lives and there is comfort in knowing you all found dad to be funny, forthright, loyal and ornry. He was a pillar to us, our DON. As many of you know, there will not be a memorial service, please pay tribute to him in your own way as this was his choice and we want to honour his wishes. You may remember him, son of Gunnar and Hartlands War Bonnet 6/2/1995, Hartlands Waves of Alexander. He looked just like Gunnar and Basteque. We had spoke on the phone several years ago. Max was destined to be with my son Eric that is Downs Syndrome and is now 14. He keeps asking when can we get Max's brother puppy. I have not been able to locate Hartlands, did find Carosel in Florida. Are you or someone with one of your dobes expecting a litter soon? I am willing and ready to take on the responsibility of owning,training,loving,vet care and morning jogs with a dog companion. I am a divorced female the age of 31. I have no children and would REALLY enjoy a companion/friend dog in my home. I work 10 minutes from my home and come home on my lunch hours. I have had previous experience with 2 other breeds of dogs (Dalmation and a Weimaraner) that were my own dogs as a younger adult. If you need an explanation of why I no longer have those dogs, I would be glad to tell you what wonderful homes they went to and why I had to get rid of them.. I have no problems with the questions you want answered. I believe it shows love and respect on your part, to the breed, and to be cautious about where the dogs go. I will be owning my own home as of 3-2003 (being built). I do believe in crate training. I am thrilled about enrolling a dog in dog obedience school again (attended dog obedience school with the Weimaraner I had). Please keep me in mind. Although I have never shown a dog, I would be interested in doing so. My only experience in showing any animal is with horses.. Feel free to e-mail with questions or concerns.. Currently I am owned by two of God's most wonderful creations, Champion Aikerskail's Chatelane better known as Cinder, a spoiled 9 year old whippet ,and the love of my life, Piper a 9 year black and tan dobe. They are both wonderfully healthy and look and act like two year olds. Piper is an absolutely great ambassador for his breed. Young and old have fallen under his spell and many a person having believed the doberman to be a vicious animal has learned the truth about this majestic breed as a result of Piper's gentle influence. I have learned the meaning of unconditional love and acceptance living with these remarkable animals. I know that one day I will have to say good-bye to them both and when that time comes I will mourn them with a broken heart knowing they can never be replaced. As Puppy Register Officer for the Dobermann Club of Queensland (Australia), I'm always amazed by the prospective breed buyers who consider these pre-requisites of ownership a bit strange and demanding. Thank goodness someone is willing to put their beliefs in print ... too many breeders seem too willing to let their pups go without any questions or requirements. |
