I've been surfing for DAYS, trying to find (preferably) a B&B, or a hotel to stay in when we're in Barcelona for 3 nights, April 1 through 3, '05 (we'll be in several European cities, from March 19 through April 8, and Barcelona's the only one where we must find our own digs).

Your interesting website appeared in my travels, and I see you've been to Barcelona. Are you willing to share any insights?

I think we'd like to be in either Eixample or Barri Gotic, close to Placa Catalunya. Can't figure from my couple of tour book maps just how big or small the city is, to decide best location for us not-so-young-and-energetic Old Farts.

We CAN walk mind you, but we're not the fastest, and not the spunkiest.

We're ex-Torontonians, now living in Victoria (running a B&B)and I've discovered how city street maps can be difficult to use when trying to gauge walking distances Toronto's so huge and Victoria's so small, but they both look rather similar-sized on a map, even WITH the legend!

I like to use Toronto city area distances as comparisons, like the walking distance from Yonge and Bloor up to Davisville, or along Queen West from Yonge to Spadina.

Did you love the place you stayed in when you were in Barcelona 4 years ago? Can you recommend it, or any others?

Many thanks for taking a moment to read my impassioned plea. And thanks for anything you can help with, re funky but comfy places to stay, and re distances within the city.

Perhaps in one of your travels one day, you'll be in Victoria and can 'look us up' ... perhaps even stay with us.

I've just found your website and read through your visit to Finikoundas. I loved it. I could almost hear your voice (I think)but it left me wondering if it was the kind of place you could loaf about in without getting too suicidal for a couple of weeks and without too much tourism. The food will be better at the thing my parents are doing, but our party will go until about 2:00 AM when the disco closes and will have a much younger crowd.... basically our friends, Rob's cousins, James, etc... plus, you'll get a full American breakfast in the morning....

You don't know me, but we have a mutual friend--Anne Dutton. I lost touch with her a few years back... The last time I had used the phone number and address I have (1 Beacon Hill Farm, Cholderton, Salisbury...), some strange man answered--not Andrew--and had no idea whom I was asking for.

Anyway, I just came across a postcard she had sent me in on January 9,1998 when she was just pregnant with Owen, due to give birth at the end of January.

I am originally from Burlington, Ontario, now living in Montreal. I met Anne during high school (I think I was in grade 10 or 11 at the time) at a summer week-long French course at McMaster held for high school kids basically to get them interested in going to McMaster.

Anyway, Anne and I hit it off, and kept in pretty good touch until a few years ago. I would really appreciate if you could give me her contact info (address, e-mail, telephone number).

HI, great website. Found it through a Google Search for info on Greece. Good info along with other stuff on your Mediterranean trip. Just one thing I would have appreciated- none of the photos are labelled, so I've no idea where they're taken. That would have been good to know.

I dont know anything about golf other than my husbands partner is 40 and he just got back from a whole day. Starting from 4.30 am.Alot of walking six miles on the golf range.Good exercise for a wee lad. Now he is going to bed. Sounds like a walkathon to me.. I did enjoy your lip smacking meal. Steak, my husbands favourite. I enjoyed your pictures. Your stories. It is a yuk day in Toronto,Saturday. Reading your tell it all was fun. Yes it is the long wkend but I am afraid another yuk one. Thank goodness we can laugh about it.With Sars in Toronto all those months a bit of rain is a drop in the bucket compared to nurses lifes that have been taken to help us Canadians. I like scrabble.
