But I really want to point out a small error in your memory. You wrote, "the Southwest’s #1 radio disc jockey at that time, Sonny Melendrez, on KELP Radio. Sonny was on KINT which went off the air at sunset. KELP had Steve Crosno. When the sun went down we would tune over to KELP and hear Steve say, "Welcome back traitors". As to which station was number 1? Who cares? KINT played ROCK and really took off with the Brit Invasion. KELP played more Soul, Mexican and rock mix. Just wanted to write you, that your father Roy Pinney was a great inspiration to me as a teen-herpetologist (35 years ago :-))... and I recently discovered that he is not with us anymore. Stumbled on your name, website... and was so happy to find a man with character, interests and a free spirit, that truly can be proud of himself - but also must have been a pride of his father.
