She married John Homan 1848 sept Bethnal Green. The family immigrate to South Australia between 1849 - 1851. On arrival 1851 John Christopher Homan is born husband John dies at the early age of 26yrs. Emma re-marries Magnus Blance b.Scotland) in 1852 They continue their family with Walter William B 1856 Fryers Creek Victoria so the family have moved states Amelia Elizabeth Blance is born in 1858 and my sister in laws Grandmother Lillias Francis Blance is born 1864. This husband Magnus is a miner and dies 1870 in a mining accident aged 49yrs. Here my trail ends for Emma have tried numerous searches forher re-marrying and have most details of all the children lives, but cannot find a death or burial in most states of Australia she has vanished. Greenville's sons were Richard Lowther and my grandfather Harper Edward Lowther b. 18 July 1885 by Agusta B. Axthem Lowther. Harper Edward Lowther was my Mom's father. We have found a very large number of Lowthers in West Virginia through this, although her Grandmother who was a Lowther descendent moved to the State of Washington. This is a very interesting site. My husband ancestors were Lowthers. My Lowthers lived in Hatton Gardens, Holborn London in the 18th century, does anyone have any connections with these Lowthers? In 1820 Harriot Gorringe nee Lowther went to Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania Australia as free settlers) together with her family and her Aunt Elizabeth Lowther. They always claimed decent from the the Earls of Lonsdale. They named their children Lowther and Lonsdale and one of their properties here. Today we just received the marriage document for Mary Lowther and William Sproule dated 15 May 1711. It is 13 1/2" by 13 1/2" on sheepskin parchment. It has signatures of both sets of parents (looks like the husbands signed for the wives)-truly miraculous.

Many male members of the Savage family have the forename Lowther or Lonsdale and some were baptised at the village of Lowther in Cumbria. | Comments: | Hello. I've just started trying to piece my (slightly complicated!) family tree together. I'd like in particular to make contact with anyone who may be a direct descendent of Hugh Cecil Lowther, the 5th Earl (1857-1944). Hugh and his wife Grace did not produce any children. However, Hugh did spawn at least 2 children from some of his many extra-marital relationships. One was the child (born around 1888 I think) of Violet Cameron, the singer. The other was the child of Elizabeth Percival, one of Hugh Lowther's staff. Elizabeth and Hugh are my grandparents. The name Webb comes from my father's adopted family. From what I gather of the 5th Earl's lusty activities, I wouldn't be surprised if there's several more out there! If you are related to one, get in touch please. |
