Your #12 Kaspar Uhl - wife Anna Maria Blankenhorn, daughter of Christian Gottlieb and Christina Katharina (Vogel) Blankenhorn and your #22 Martin Uhl - wife Rosa Blankenhorn, daughter of Charles Gottlieb and Rosina (Kolb) Blankenhorn Anna Maria and Charles Gottlieb would have been siblings. Which would make Anna Maria, Rosa's aunt. To me: Christian Gottlieb and Christina Katharina (Vogel) Blankenhorn are my great-great-great grandparents. Which would make Charles Gottlieb and Rosina (Kolb) Blankenhorn my great-great grandparents. Anna Maria would have been my great-great-great aunt, and Rosa my great-great aunt... if I calculated it correctly. I have been putting together my family tree but am sad to say I did not find my lineage here. My Grandparents were John (Johann) and Anna Uhl who immigrated to the US in 1925. Johann Uhl, along with many brothers and sisters, was born in Barnau son of Joseph Uhl. Anna Winter Uhl(daughter of Wentzl Winter) was born in Barnau too and my mother Frances (Franziska Uhl) was born in Hohentreswitz. They lived in Rothenbach before they came to the US in St Louis Mo. I seem to have lost their trail since before they came to the US and was really hoping this contained my family info. Sadly, it would appear not. The marriage between the man from Dewangen and the woman from Lippach is particularly interesting. Do you know how they got together? Their towns are not that far apart, but they are not right next to one another either. Toledo Metal Furniture manufactured office and school furniture. Many schools still use desks and tables made by my grandfather. All the furniture manufactured by my grandfather, will have the Uhl Steel logo on the back of it. |

My family (the Uhl's came to Texas from Wurrtenburg thru the ports of New Orleans and Indianola Tx in 1842 and settled in San Antonio. Uhl isn't a real common name so I guess in some way I'm related to all those in San Antonio. My grandmother did quite an extensive family tree, with copies of documents from Germany. It's amazing what has survived for all these years. |

| Comments: | I am attempting to find the town in Germany for a Christian Uhl that his immigration records state "Baden" on one and Bavaria on another. He was married to Louisa ? and they settled in New York but found some papers that state they had relatives that settled in Iowa and surrounding areas. My son-in-law is James Uhl, his father was John Uhl who was born in New York and the son of one of the children of Christian and Louisa. If you ever come across anything that might look promising I would love to communicate with you and send more info that I do have which isn't too much -- more marriage surnames of wives or husbands. My son in law is in Fullujah, Iraq at present and my daugher would love to find what she can and I'm trying to help her. | Comments: | I literally accidentally found your web page while doing a "test" search on "Uhl"... and you and I must be related! I am of the Martin Uhl/Rosa Blankenhorn lineage. Martin was my great-grandfather. Their son, Ray Uhl, is my grandfather. I never knew him as he died a few years before my birth.
How interesting to have found this. I will share with a few of my family members to see if there is anything we can learn... but I believe this info. is already documented somewhere in my immediate family.
