It was good to see so many people making the effort to dress the part too - if you come back I will certainly do so next time! Mel Beaumont

Comments:The organisers of the Liverpool Blitz 70! event 30th April - 2nd May 2011, would like to say a big thank you to the members of the Northern Forties group who took part!

Each individual looked fantastic and as a group they really added to the 1940s atmosphere we had envisaged for the event. Several members even took to the main stage to explain to the crowd what they were wearing and what life would have been like for their character during World War II. All the feedback we have received has been exceedingly positive and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the group to anyone hosting a World War II themed event!

Comments:I am looking for Land Army girls who were stationed at the Leavenheath Hostel on the Essex/Suffolk border. The Hostel site has been standing since its closure in 1950 but it is now being cleared for re-development. However the land owners are going to retain the Water Tower in recognition of the Land Army girls. If I can obtain enough material on this site, the tower will be turned into an exhibition centre.
All of the girls stationed here came from Yorkshire and the surrounding counties.
Please contact me, if you can help me out with your memories.

Unfortunately I live in a part of the North-East where the 'passion' doesn't have much of a following and your events are too far to travel to. Having said that, may I wish you every success for the future.
