I have a chinchilla who is happy and lives in my childrens room, she is beautiful as well. I was visiting Callaway Gardens here in Georgia and held a cockatoo and attempted to hold a blue and gold macaw. He wasnt intrested so I did not push it. I told the handler I always wanted a macaw and she said I should get an African Grey because they are more on the friendly side and just as beautiful, do you agree? I have a meduim sized apartment but enough space in the living room for a good sized gage about 4 or 5 feet in length and as high as it can go!! Let me know something thanks:) |

From Vicky, I purchased Gracie in May 2000. She will be five years old 12/31/2004. Latest update: This summer we attended a Gabriel Foundation event (Denver, CO) and as we were leaving, stopped by the Bird Brain to purchase the new Bird Babysitter DVD (which she loves). I sat down next to a woman and Gracie climbed off my shoulder on to her hand and then her shoulder. Found out later that Gracie's new friend is Julie, the founder of Gabriel. What a social butterfly and I big hit at the outdoor garden party. I credit Vicky for giving her a healthy, well adjusted start. Gracie is a joy to own. |

He quickly adjusted well to his new home, with me. Vicki outdoes her reputation, she is awesome. My next venture, a congo grey, will certainly come from her. I highly recommend anyone starting out with their first larger species of bird, should consider a sweet socialized blue & gold, from Vicki. Vicki is a wonderful person. It would be very difficult to find another person anywhere that could match the skills and experience Vicki has. Not to mention the extra love and warmth from her heart that she gives along with each feeding and day of care she gives the new babies until they are ready for their new homes. I had the pleasure of visiting Vicki and Parrotise In The Pines several times to begin bonding with Buddy, My Congo African Grey, from the time he was 11 days old and he was being hand fed, up to his weening at age 12 weeks when I took him home. Buddy is now a little over 6 months old and is such a happy, loving and trusting bird from the experiences he had early in his life, that can only be attributed to Vicki and her methods. If I could manage to have a house full of birds, I would. And they would ALL come from Vicki. | Comments: | Just wanted to share my experience with anyone wanting to purchase a companion from Vicki. Vicki is the greatest!!! My B/G Macaw is a joy and has been from the very first day. Vicki really takes alot of time with her babies and they are all wonderful. I have talked to alot of people that have birds purchased from Vicki and have yet to find anyone that was not completely satisfied! Vicki is a wonderful person and very helpful, (even after the sale) which is hard to find. Most only care until the sale is final. Not vicki, It has been 15 months since my purchase and she continues to help, no matter what or when I call she is always there! I love this woman, and I'm sure anyone that meets her is right there with me!! I will be getting a yellow head amazon next spring and YES from vicki, I couldn't imagine buying from anyone else. Took Gracie to the vet for her annual check-up. Dr. LaBonde is always amazed at her even temperament - she is not only beautiful, but a delight to handle and a joy to own. She greets me whenever I enter the bird room, excited to ride on my shoulder, absolutely LOVES her baths, and makes friends wherever we go. She loves food - cheese is her new favorite.
