She was 21 years old and meant the world to her family. The drunk driver was the man she was to marry. His alcohol level was twice the legal limit. He walked away with a hurt arm and then tried to claim she was driving. They both had to be cut out of the vehical, the steering wheel had to be pulled up off of his legs but he still continues with his claims. Please visit Holli's page and light a candle for her. |

| Comments: | I lost my dad to drunk driving. It was Sept. 14th of 1997. I was 6 years old at the time. It was one wk. exactly before my 7th b~day (sept. 21). Him and his girlfriend were on their way to a party, when a drunk driver got on the wrong side of the road. The drunk driver hit my dads side of the car and killed him instantly. No one realizes that when people get killed by drunk driving, it affects people around them also. Not all accidents including alcohol is the fault of who gets killed. REMEMBER THAT!!!

The boys were in their car seats so when the drunk driver hit us and they went through the windsheild, they were protected. My daughters weren't buckled up. They were killed almost instatly. My airbag saved my life, though I am still in bad shape. It will be easier for me to forgive the other driver than myself. I should have made them buckle up. He killed my friend Alicia,12 and I was in critical condition and the guy is still driving around in the same truck he killed a little girl with and acouple years ago a friend of mine named Abby Cox was killed the only thing the driver got was 6 months in jail. What is up with that? These people dont have no right to die. The goverment says tha marijuana is worse then alcohol I dont believe that I see more people get killed by drunk drivers then people that are high on marijuana!! You may move slower but atleast you know what your doing. I was raised by alcoholics and got beat my whole life. But I think its kinda f*cked up that hes still driving around in the same truck still had freedom if it was me his but would be locked up for good.

I lost a very good friend to a drunk driver 10yrs ago and now I have lost my father the same way, my father passed away on Oct. 25, 2002. This past year has been very hard for my siblings and I the driver of the car was released from jail appox. 7hrs after the accident so i have spent the past year fighting for justice and our rights as victims. The sentencing is Aug. 19, 2003(the driver accepted a plea)so after this sentencing is over my siblings and i will finally be able to start the grieving procces and I think this site will be very helpful, so thankyou for making it available for the survivors. |

My friend was amazing...he was the closest thing I've ever had to having a brother. I still can't believe he's gone...he was so full of life and was just loved by everyone he came across. It wasn't right, but at the time didn't fill like I was drunk. I was a teenager and I wanted to be "Cool" so I drank with the "Cool kids," (so I thought). I not only drove drunk, I also drag raced drunk. I am much older now and I haven't done that stuff since I was in my late teens/early twenties. I am now in my late thirties now and I now have three children. And I have no need for alcohal in my life now. I am cool just the way I am, I don't need anything to make me any cooler. It was in november and it was snowing really bad.we are not sure what had happend but he lost control and when off the rode. He rolled the car many times. Both were fine my grandma was bad and still recovering.. But the bad part is a few weeks later right befor x-mas my sister and my dad were driveing and a drunk driver said he thought there was a turning lane and when head on in to my sister and dad. my sister was pregnet and we hoped for the bast she was fine and so was the baby but my dad he was so fine he had shatered his hip bone and went right in to the windsheld. He was put in ann arber hospitel and had to have sirgary... He was in there for a long time and he also is still strugling. |

Kevin made the choice to ride with him and as a result, suffered a traumatic and tragic death, receiving massive head injuries. The driver and so-called "friend" lived. | Comments: | I am a 33 year old who was convicted of DUI 3 years ago. I am ashamed of what I put my family through, after I totaled my car from the rollover. I thank God everyday that I did not injure anyone but myself. I could have left my 6 year old daughter behind and my loving husband of 12 years. It is a selfish act to get behind the wheel when you have been drinking, and I will NEVER do it again. My car started on fire, and I was trapped. By the grace of God someone drove by...it was 2:30 a.m. and must have called 911. I was told that I was removed from the car, and in a matter of seconds it blew. I walked away with only scratches and bruises, but the reality of it all is I should not be here today. I have listened to my parents preach for years about this issue, but I thought that I was invincible!! I am not, and I thank God for every morning that I get to wake up and be with my family!! Think twice before you drink and drive. Life is too precious and so are you to your loved ones!! Thanks for letting me share my story. I hope it will detour someone else from making the same "almost" fatal decision that I did. |

On December 26th 1999 my friend Candace and 3 friends were walkng down the street to go to a local store to get a tape to make a movie for a friend who could not join them for the holidays. The group was crossing the street(?Which was very pourly lit) When 2 drunk drivers Struck and killed Candace Who was the last to cross the street. The next few days I will remember for the rest of my life. So many people who the family didn't even know showed up at there house to pay respect to this great girl. My 20 year old Brother and his best friend wre out, having fun... and his best friend was driving, and ran a stop sign, not even a mile from our house.... Our lives are forever changed by this....
