| Comments: | I am the grandson of levi meeks, who was the daughter of stephen munson meeks.who was the great? grand son of john meeks (second wife) from grundy co. tn. I live in hawaii, but I passed through Grundy co. and spent some time with a person who had his own museum and genealogical info. I can't remember his name, but he was very helpful and generous with his time. this was in 1990 december as I recall. My thanks to him and to you also.

| Comments: | My great, great, great, grandfather, Nacy Meeks was listed as living in Grundy County in 1820, and he was in Mississippi in the mid 1830’s. I don’t think he was directly connected to the Pitt County Meeks’. There was probably a connection some where back down the line before they came to America. I would like to know how long he was in Grundy County, and when he when he left, and if any of this line of the Meeks family still lives there.

My family was from Grundy and Franklin counties. My great great grandmother was Belle Meeks. She marries a man whose last name was Wildman, or Wileman. She had children named Ella, Minnie, and Taylor. As I understand it, Ella and Minnie, my great grandmother were from the reservation. I dont know which one. I do not know her husbands first name or her fathers. I looked carefully at your info, but it did not look like my family.
