Studying in australia and the rave scene there is still pretty good. Went for Gatecrasher, PVD and Tiesto and some others. Spread trance to all in singapore man, except for the bengs/lians and everyone else who's above the age of 30, who dun appreciate it, cos they think the rave scene is full of junkies. | Comments: | Hi it was me asking about your set at Fuse in DnS forum. And that you should drop me a mail to inform me about oncoming ones. I don't club as much now so if i do get my butt off, i'll want to be in somewhere that plays music i know i'll surely enjoy. I started listening to dance music about four years ago and began with a heavy dose of progressive house and bits of trance for euphoria. Now i'll go for the most easy listening stuff that won't give me a headache or doesn't require much cognitive digestion. Basically literally music to the ears, nothing that takes much effort. I also notice you like trance with lots of lyrics, quite feminine :P. People used to give me knowing looks and say it's Girl's dance music. Thats why.
I'm sure there's no gender bias for music per se. =) Jan Johnston is one of my favourite vocalist too. |

Enjoyed your website. A few comments though. I refer to your article on the different educational philosophies between NAUI and PADI. I agree with your views. However, you left out BSAC (despite the misleading caption in the article)which in my view offers the most comprehensive recreational diving training available. BSAC is different because diver training is in the main conducted through clubs (or BSAC Branches)unlike the North American agencies like PADI, SSI or NAUI (NAUI is a bit of an anomaly because its presence is highly visible in colleges and army training facilities. Because of the club system and the underpinning philosophy that divers should be self-sufficient (eg operate their own boats and run their own dives, the training syllabus is very comprehensive. In the early days, the water confidence tests were also very demanding. As an example, one of the tests that the BSAC novice diver (or in those days known as 3rd Class Diver)had to pass was to submerge, remove mask, fins and weights, surface, re-submerge, don all equipment, and clear mask and snorkel enroute to surfacing - skills which are only tested at NAUI leadership level. The downside to the BSAC training system was that you may end up having instructors who appear to be out to "tekang" you. Because of the influence of the American agencies (mainly PADI, I suspect), BSAC is now more "people friendly" . In terms of training syllabus, BSAC is numero uno at diver level, NAUI is unmatched at instructor level, and PADI very hard to beat at Course Director level (with the exception of a BSAC National Examiner who is said to be able to "walk" on water and command the elements.)
