Well it isn't it is the ones who our mean and really don't care. If we were the ones who were nicer to those "different" people who are uneasy to talk to. If you could see that they were people too there would be no problem. The columbine boys were to of the people in this world out of every one. they were picked on and teasted . Some people can handle it and some people can't. Some people have no choose except to be picked on. Everyone in the schools today have been picked on, they now what it feels like, And guess what they don't like how it feels. So they become with the bulies so they wont get herased. and if they laugh at the bulies who are making the sceared feel even hopless. so as a student and some one who wants kids some day doesn't want to have to be afraid of the violence. As an idea we could all get along. If we could instead of saying you hate a person befor ever talking to them you could hang out with them, then makeing fun of them and haveint the go cry. just be nice. Help a student out at school if he/she is getting picked on.Or if you hurt some one say your sorry and mean it. But always reamember we are the future and we are what the world will be looking at we need to make the change and help out now. What those to boys did to that school was a mistake and it didnt get them no were except to hurt the people who hurt them. but they didn't hurt any one except tose of every one ealse besides the ones who hurt them. yes they might have killed them but they are now in a place that nothing could hurt them. And they can't even see how much they did because they had to tske ther own lives too. so when you are getting picked on and you always feel down just look at them straght in the eyes and ask them if they are having a good day and shake ther hand. or inturdues yourself to them. bulies like fear and to bring you down. Just dont alowe your self to be pushed around. Stand up for your self, but remeber to always do it nicely. war and hatred will never get you any were for long. If you spend enough time emotionally and physically abusing others, you should expect repercussions. The only sad aspect of the Columbine massacre is that the body count wasn't higher. I know what it is like to be sitting in clas and all the sudden hear the sounds of guns. It is terible to think of what must have been going through the victims minds when they saw fellow class mates pointing a gun right at their face. My name is Kyle and I live in jonsesboro Arkansas. I attend Westside High School. I just happend to be at school the day that Mitchel Jonhson and Andrew Golden brought guns to school and killed one of my best friends. I was supposed to have P.E. with them that day but they never showed up. And i now know why they did it. Because we mad fun of them and they were outcast and we were mean to them and Because of that i have to live knowing that because my dacision of being mean to them resulted in my friends death and I have to live with that. |

| Comments: | I guess no matter where you are, and even after whats happened, High School Shootings will tend to continue. I was in San Diego, CA for High School for 3 months, and it was so sad to see the Santana High Shooting, and also the Granite Hills - which followed 2 weeks later.
Columbine was a sad tragedy, and it's so saddening to still hear of things like that which continue to happen. It's really sad that we, as teenagers, continue to exclude other peers which lead to travesties such as this. Being a teen is one of the hardest chapters in life, and we have to all learn to accept one another at some point, or more tradgedies will continue to occur throughout our generation. And one just a few weeks ago that scared me was a girl went on a rampage in PA thats where i live and it was a Catholic school, That really worried me because for one thing it was in pa and another it was not a public school. Right now i am reading the book She Said yes i just think that how Cassie Bernal Was killed was just Horrible and sure she did sum bad stuff she might have put her parents through living hell but no one should have to die like that. am in a Christian school so I feel very safe but those kids had plans for their lives and now they are ruined, may God protect all of us. An interesting fact is since prayer has been removed from schools, school violence has sky rocketed, i thank God for a Christian President who hopefully will change America back to how it used to be. graduated class of 2000, College freshman at Tulsa Community College (hence, screen name/email... hehe!) I have a 2 month old baby, and when I get my site established I'll post a pic of us so you can see him. I was in 11th grade when the tragedy hit Columbine. Some of my buddies on aol were from Littleton. One of them was killed, I think, because her screen name wasn't deleted until a month afterwards, and this guy from Columbine told me it was the girl who M.W. Smith wrote "It's Your Time" about. I don't know if it was really her, but I feel like it was, so when I hear that song I cry. If it wasn't, I still have so much respect for her, because I don't know if I am strong enough to do what she did. God, rest her soul, Amen. Our school sent your school a card... and your school sent us a thank you card with a packet of Columbine seeds. Last year, my Advanced Placement English class planted them to remember not only your school- but also ours. I was a gothic stoner when the incident happened, and I hung out with some guys who wore trenchcoats too. (They're everywhere, not just in Littleton.) My friends decided after the incident that they were going to "BOMB THE PROM." I begged them not to, but people like that don't listen. I had a few friends too who were "preps" and athletes. For the most part though, I had been teased and taunted just like those two boys that took their lives had. I was torn between two worlds- good and evil. One day, I went to my friend Bobbie's and when he went to the bathroom I found these pipes and stuff under his bed. The next day I went to the girls room and hid until 15 minutes into third hour. I snuck into the counselor's office and walked past the secretary, straight into the counselor's room. I shut the door and said "Listen to me- if you never listen to me ever again please listen to me now!" and started crying and screaming about what I knew, leaving no details out. I also told them not to let anyone know I was there because I was scared for my life. It was the day before the prom. I went to the prom that night, and the dean pulled me outside and told me they found 5 bombs in the field house and had to deactivate them. I hope if anyone reads this that is not from Columbine, or has never been faced with a situation like this, that you can learn from this... if you ever know that someone wants to blow up or shoot up your school, there are people who will listen to you, and they won't reveal your identity. Please don't let there be another tragedy. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY- if you pick on ANYBODY at your school- STOP. Hate can manifest itself when a person picks on somebody. I know because I have low self esteem and sometimes I pre- judge people like cheerleaders and "preps" because of how I was treated. But I'm in college now, and it must be in my own head because I've only been there 4 days and 15 really hot guys already want to talk to me. Last but not least- if you're always the butt of the joke, or you think you're a loser, or you think that everybody hates you because it seems that way now (especially if you're thinking of getting violent about it) just remember- AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, EVERYTHING CHANGES FOR THE BETTER... I didn't believe it, but now I know it's the truth- and so is this JESUS DOES NOT JUDGE, HE SAVES, JUST CRY OUT> Can you take me higher? To a place where blind men see? Can you take me higher? To a place with golden streets? (Creed) BECAUSE HE CAN AND HE WILL. |

wrote about her tragedy. In a way I am, I don't want to say grateful, but in awe of what Cassie did. It would take a lot of courage and faith to do what she did. To me it is odd how just before someone dies, they will write about being with their grandparents who have passed away, or how it would be in Heaven. This is the case with Cassie too. To everyone else that survived this horrible tragedy, don't feel like you let those who died down in any way. Her life was a blessing in that certain way, but yours will be in another. My prayers are with all of those who lost family members, friends, and those who they looked up to. Now your life can change someone else. You will be who someone looks up to. Not only because you are older and an upper classman, but because you have had enough courage and faith to stand firm and push through the rest of your life. What are our high schools coming to, when I was in high school, we had a shooting also, thank god the student wasn't killed, it was accidental, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. still on my mind. I feel so sorry for everyone who had to go through the pain which took place in Columbine High School. About a week ago I met some dude who thought that the killings were justice, I went completely OFF it with him. I am a goth, and wear a Trench Coat (I am NOT part of any Trench Coat Mafia) and I have to go through a lot of the stuff that Harris and Klebold had to go through. They were bullied A LOT and they thought that they were not worth living, they hated their lives and everyone who made them hell. I go through a lot of bullying, just like those two, they finally snapped and performed the killings. I know somebody who has videos of Harris and Klebold 2 hours before the big event, in the videos they are crying and crying, saying how much they are bullied for being goth and how they hated everyone.
