blame in the wrong areas as to why the Columbine massacre happened. Violence and guns were not the cause of what happened, they were a symptom of the situation. The cause lies at the feet of people whose names and faces we do not know and have not seen. Why, because blaming the true culprits may mean having to look at how our society is run and at ourselves. We may then realize that things need to change and this would simply be to hard. STOP the victimizing, ostracizing and tormenting and ONLY THEN will the violence end. Anger and violence are signs of pain, cure the pain and you solve the violence. There were 15 victims who died on April 20, 1999, not 13. |

the happiest years of your life. But for those at CHS that changed. Although the happiness of their high school years can't be returned they banded together to become one. I read a quote in Teen People magazine, and it said that they don't want to be known as the school where the shooting happened. But that will be a title that they will have no matter how long after the event. I am not so sure that if this happened at my school that we would band together like the students at Comlumbine have. I wrote a poem for the CHS students, and although I can't include all of it I would like to include one part of it. COULD SOMETHING HAVE HAPPENED COULD THIS HAVE BEEN STOPPED? what you call a goth but people can only be pushed so far and the reason that the shooting happended is that chs created then br ridiculdld as i have read in time magizne the "jock" at the school constanally called them names and threw beer bottles and beaten them so i am not saying that they got what they derserve but only that they brought them onthem self. at my own school all of us "goths" stopping wearing our trench coat for a week to show that we had nothing to do with the incident in colorado. we have an unstable relationship between the goths and the skaters in our school so we have a meadiation and work out our problems ut the jocks withed no to join in. as of the riduleured the we have to go through because of the way we dress yesterday (the last day of school) for us at chs (colony high school) when me and my mom went to get a yearbook for me a couple of jocks yelled out "hey b*tch" and other obencitives which my mom had noticed walking only three steps behind me so i may play "evil" killing games and listen to "satanic" music but i am smart enough not know the line between reality and fantasy on account of my 150+ iq that is all i have to say.
