Comments:I am wondering if there is a recycled arts movement, and where it is. Several of us artists in Chicago are doing incredible things with "trash" as are many across the entire U.S. Yet, you show very little on your site, and much is from other countries (the aluminum can toys and the awesome rubber chair)

If this is a "museum," where is all the rest of the stuff? I was so excited to google you but then a bit dissapointed at the tiny site.

sincerely, Beau.

Comments:Greetings!

I am an educator at The Trash Museum in Hartford, CT. The museum is owned by Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority, which is responsible for managing the municipal solid waste and recyclables for the State of Connecticut. I am exploring options for displaying examples of art made from reuseable items, trash to treasure.

Does your museum still exist? I would be interested to talk with you. You can contact me at 860-7577765 or pgarry@crra.org.

Thanks.

well,here we are

opening night is here

so now I am part of

the two to seven percent

of adult internet users

that keep a weblog

but only ten percent

of that number do up

date daily while a small

percent updates several

times per day i will

probably be like that

unless i do not feel

like it at the time

also i might place

a webcam out

the window to show

the rebuilding of the

GroundZero site

in Lower Manhattan

where I live and work

and join the other seven

percent that have

a web cam turned on

of course the margin

of error is plus / minus

three percent so

there you have it

what was whishes

became now and

now is past such

is time an invention

of our brains, minds

or hearts one third

of the bio mass on

earth are tiny bacteria

living tens of feet below

the surface without

oxygen without sunlight

making methane round

the clock a menacing

possible destructive giant

multiple killer fart

so do not ever stir

the bottom muck

or else.

I am looking searching gazing
staring these eyes to find
but the thread between
then and now then I had
a family now I have
brother & sisters
nephews & nieces
regular and grand cousins
1st,2nd,& 3rd,
but no family now then
I thought I was somebody now
I think I am some other.
then I spoke one tongue
now I speak three others
then my name was one
now it is another so far
the only thread I find between
now and then is the illusions
and the dreams of my
waking sleeping times.

Growing up long ago in the 1940's
When the war was going on
and they asked you for your
rubber for the cause,after midnight
way out there in the far inside
Country between Mountains,near the Stars
with the Cattle and the Goats
With the Eagles and the Hawks
I would search for Radio signals
I would listen,I would hear
For the music,for the folksongs
For the nightly beaming Radio Texas Show
Fading in,fading out in the night in the
Distance a thousand miles away i
Would listen,I would hear,
For Gene Autry and his Singan
To Woody Gurthie and his Woes
To Tom Mix,Hioh Silver,Tonto and many more..
To Dale Evans and her Horse
To Roy Rodgers who was not Hamburger Then !

Treasons,triplecrossings,
Abuse,mental programations,
Emotional blackmail,
Molestations,exploitations,
Assasinations,
Love's infatuations,
And so on and on.......
I am now now here
To tell you this about
My now now.

So far i've survived,
I am here in my now
But only for now.
Writing for your now
Writing for your
Future now futuro people
Mayve in your now now,
You might think of my
Now as a past now
I must say that my now
Is real real now
As real as it gets real now
As real as your future now
Now will be real now
Alas, it's real temporary now
Not guaranteed at that...
Where are you now now

When you read this lines
If you ever do read them.
You no longer will be
Where you are now now!
I won't be here
Where I am now.
But,you will be here
Real as real as
I am real now now!

I have no idea how to get it advertised or displayed and hope to eventually do a web page. I tried to access the museum and couldn't.I am glad to know there are others out there doing the same thing. I recycle all kinds of things. Thank you!!!

Comments:great to discover your resourceful recoveries. in tasmania,
we have a 4-year-old annual "art from trash" exhibition
organised by the Resource Work Co-operative (where i work)
which ordinarily is involved in salvaging (we call it
"scrutineering") reusables from our archaic landfills and
retailing them at our Tip Shops. i'll be writing you up in
a reuse newsletter i'm working on - could i reproduce 1 of
your pix for it? e.g. "cat", which looks oddly much like
our extinct Tasmanian Tiger - now resurrected from modern
"trashes."

Comments:Have already given one comment - and then realized I had
something else to say (my daughter would say, so what is
new?. . .) Is there any way of finding out others who may
live in this area (Wareham, MA) that would like to help us
in creating this Dump Picker's Festival and Invention Fair?
I am (hopefully) going to have workshops on this type of art
with the help of artists/craftsmen from Gallery X in New
Bedford. I also want to encourage kids/adults to be
creative in inventing things that work to help us perform
some chore or activity (like something simple that would
help us at the recycling center quickly and safely squash
plastic bottles to save space in the dumpster!). Two kids
helped create something that I can use to push things around
since I have difficulty breathing on exertion - using two
old bicycle wheels and an old rusted tomatoe cage! I love
this creative energy and wish to encourage more - like in
the 40's when I grew up in Minnesota! Again, many thanks
for your section.

Comments:This is quite an experience - am delighted. Most interesting
statement "free to fly" - and that is exactly what I try to
do - along with Langston Hughes thought, "hold fast to
dreams, for if dreams die, life is like a broken winged bird
that cannot fly" . . am looking forward to helping my town
(as their recycling coordinator) create a Found Art/Dump
Picker's Art Show to encourage more involvement in recycling
- and reduction of product manufacture of packaging that
cannot be reused in some fashion.
