said, this was a tragedy. I wouldn't wish what happened to this girl on anyone. Mosh pits can get a bit hectic at times, and you can get easily squashed and you may even find it hard to breathe. This tragic death was due to very poor organisation and overcrowding at the venue. But at times like this, the fans have to look out for one another. When you're not a mosh pit, you're not the only one who can get hurt. If you see someone else going through a hard time, help them out. And more importantly, if anyone sees another person falling down, notify everyone around you immediately so they can help you pull that person up. This incident happened over a year ago. I too saw Hole on that particular tour, and the mosh pit I was in was pretty bad too. More recently, 8 deaths happened at a Pearl Jam concert. Unfortunately, this will not be the last we'll be hearing of deaths in concerts. This is why it is important that the fans take precautions and that they help each-other out when the organisation of the venue fails them. My heart goes out to all the families of those who passed away... |

friends but on a universal level it symbolises the fact that something is definately ammiss with the human race, to allow a young girl like that, another human being to die indicates how selfish and uncaring some people are. | Comments: | I have not even heard about this tragedy until just today,
nearly 3 months after the incident. It is a horrible outcome from a horrible situation. Music should make us feel, should bring out all emotions, but in a peaceful manner, even if it brings out rage and strong emotion. Violence is never justified, and mosh pits are ridiculous. Even though we live in a society today full of amnesiacs, let us not forget this tragic incident, nor past ones, people who have lost their lives at concert. Especially after the Woodstock incident, we cannot let things like this happen. Deaths, rapes and abuse should not be tolerated at music shows. Thank you for posting that story, it really touched me and saddened me. My condolences to you,your friend and her family and friends. May she live on in all of memories and may we learn from her death to protect one another at concerts, not attack each other. |

Hultsfred and I do feel very sorry for her family and friends. I didn't know her (she was a friend of my best friend's friend). But what I can tell you guys is that I've been at a Hole show a few days later, and by that time, Courtney really took care of what was going on in the mosh pit, she even gave away water and stuff. So I think she doesn't have that "couldn't care less" attitude you might think she has. |

I'm really sorry about what happened to your friend... I'm also sorry that concerts have to be such a damn violent thing. People should be able to go to concerts and not worry about getting trampled and beaten up by fellow fans. I guess this happens because everyone gets so hyped up because they all love hole and want to get as close to the band as possible... but sadly this can't happen. Not everyone can be in the front row. Moshing can be fun, but it loses its touch when someone gets killed. Lets all try to make a change... watch out for each other in the pit and if you see someone in need, help them. |

What is scarey is that i went to a hole show, semi-like his about to months ago, but noone died. I was up front having people climb over me, kicking me, smashing me..until i could get out of their grips and jump over the rail was i near the stage..by the mixers having the security guards rough house me.I have been to hard core punk shows meaning NOT offspring or like blink 182..i am talking REAL punk shows dirty rawdy ones....and the hole shows are NEVER as bad as these...but this one unfortunatly was..what happened COULD HAVE BEEN ANYONE OF US, IT COULDV'E BEEN ME,..my heart goes out to vampiria and her family.......sugar kisses everyone~tress |

| Comments: | This is so tragic. Someone shouldn't have to die at a
concert. I was @ Hole's Milwaukee show. The crowd was incredibly mellow, I guess I was lucky. Courtney tried to excite the crowd, and she succeeded. That's also her job. I don't think this was the band's fault. She did the same things @ my shows and it was fine. She did the same things at mosty her other shows and it was fine. This was a horrible, horrible exception. I don't think this was there fault. I find it hard to believe that Courtney (a mother), Melissa, Sam or Eric could see people standing on passed out people and do nothing about it. Still, it sucks. I suppose most of the blame should go to the people standing on you and the others, and perhaps at security (who didn't sound very helpful). Perhaps this should usher in an end to horrible tragedies like this. There was nothing like this @ my show. If anyone else would like to talk about this feel free to e-mail me.
