I am so glad I received help at the Crisis Center and turned to God for help, because there was a time that I thought I had been through enough and tried to take my own life. I was searching the net, because I know it's not about us but it's about our Lord and Saviour and giving him the praise. Well, I wanted to know what the different colors represents, different movements, sign language (both Spiritual and American), praise dance attire, etc..... Well, as I was surfing for this info. I came across your sight. You are definitely Heaven sent. Hallelujah! You have truly encouraged me, my life will never be the same. I've often wondered what it is that God has for me to do (I was in a place where I knew God wanted more from me, but I was in my preparation stage and wasn't sure what my full purpose was). I've always praise and worship through dance at home, and it was prophesied to me that I would be dancing around the church (that was about 1 year ago). I've been through a lot of heartache and pain, physical and emotional abuse, etc. But by the grace of God I made it. I want to learn all I can about praise dancing. I've taken dance classes for 4 years, about 20 years ago. This is new to me, but I have a since of peace and I'm excited about working with the youth praise dancers. There are currently 4 young ladies, my daughter being one, there between the ages of 13-16. They've been dancing together for a couple of years now. They truly love to dance for the Lord, but need some guidance. I believe God has been preparing me these last couple of years for this call. | Comments: | I was so happy to find your website this morning. I have prayed to meet someone who dances for the Lord with right motives and understands that it is a ministry not a performance. I am interested in attending your conference in Jan 06. It was interesting to read that praise dancers have been violated in some type of way, I never made that connection, but it makes sence. I was molested as a child and then ran the streets as a teen and young adult, smoking, drinking etc.. But God! He saved me,delivered me and filled me with His Spirit. It was also interesting to read the list about the heart of a praise dancer. That is me all day. Thank God for you taking the ministry outside the walls of the church and allowing me to be connected to another worshiper who truley loves God and expresses it through dance. I have been dancing for a little over a year. I don't have any dance experience so I had to receive instruction from the Holy Spirit. When God put it in my spirit to dance I fasted and asked for His instruction. He told me to "take a bath". At first I didn't understand what He meant so He directed me to the book of Exodus and showed me how God instructed the ones building the temple to erect a wash basin at the entrance with mirrors that belonged to the women. God revealed to me that we must be clean (the wash basin) before entering in His presence. Clean meaning holy and righteous. And we must examine our selves (the mirrors) before entering His presence. So that's what I've been doing. I dance alone for the most part but would love to dance with other like-minded, like-hearted women. I continue to wait on God to send them. So I went to the Power of Prayer class. However, it was such an honor to enjoy the Grace Temple Dance presentation on Sunday Morning. I'm a member of Grace Temple and have seen the ladies Praise dance before. However, on Sunday I sat with tears of joy while I watched the ladies give their presentation I could actually feel as well as see their love for God in the emotions they displayed in both their actions and on their faces. After church I told you I was "50" years old. . didn't know how to dance but wanted to do Praise Dancing. You were so kind to tell me that the age didn't matter and your words of encourgement have made up my mind that I will join the Grace Temple ladies and dance for the Lord.
