Female born January 19, 1960 Washington, D.C., George Washington University Hospital Birth mothers name: Betty Stevens Birthfather: Unknown Private adoption through Montgomery County, Maryland District Court handled by my uncle, Robert Symonds(deceased) Birth mother used mother’s OB/GYN and my parents covered all of her medical expenses. Betty Stevens was caucasian, Protestant. and unmarried and said she was from Upstate New York and came to Washington, D.C. to have her baby. She stayed in a home for unwed mothers located at 1702 Q Street, NW, until I was born. This may have been a boarding or apartment house (now it’s condos). She met my dad as she was a customer of his dry cleaning/laundry establishment and approached him as she heard my parents were interested in adopting. She placed me in my mom’s arms outside of the hospital on January 26, 1960 and she was not seen or heard from again, although it was later rumored that my birthparents married. She had told my mother that she was thinking of moving to Florida and attending college. My parents also offered to help her financially after my birth and she declined. I’ve registered with the ISRR, the Maryland Mutual consent registry and am on just about every web site out there. I have a CI from for Maryland and she has indicated that she has no info that I don’t and actually mine is in more detail. The only difference in what she told the social worker that handled the interview is that that she got pregnant in D.C. while attending college with my birthfather. My file contains no date of birth, no town, no physical description of her, nothing… I am very discouraged, but am still hopeful to someday find her. My mother is 1 of 12 children from a large Catholic family from “up north”. She lived with her sister after her mother passed (circa 1967) and later moved in with her brother and family in Atlanta. She attended Therrell High School in Atlanta, going by Cathy Gates, and was supposed to graduate in 1970 (maybe an early graduation). She lived at the Florence Crittenton Home in Atlanta until I was born. I assume now that she is married and has a family of her own that she has not told about me. Furthermore, I doubt that anyone else in her family knows about me other than her brother and his wife. This woman was a friend of the family and therefore my cause is a little diffferent because there were never any adoption papers on my father. But the one thing she did seem to keep was the birthdays of these children. My father who was named Bobby Johnson was born on May 15th in 1936. He was given to Robert&Louise Johnson of Garden City, Georgia but he also spent alot of time here in Augusta. | Comments: | I grew up an only child raised by my mother. My father is a mysterious void in my life. My mother has repressed her own feelings of abandonment long ago , so she has not much more to tell regarding the situation.
The two met in Hawaii in 1964, she was 22 he was 27. All I know is his name- William Clinton Kipp. My birth certificate states he was in sales for the Roger Victor Association (what ever that is)and gives his age as 28. Apparently when mom told him she was pregnant he skipped town. My guess is that he was married, but thats just a guess. My mothers real father died when she was four years old. Then her mother remarried she and her two siblings were leagally adopted by husband #2 Bill Rauch. My original birth certificate states my name as Brandi Faye Rauch, her maiden name at the time. But Rauch is not my blood line. Then when my mother married he leagally adopted me. But that marriage didnt last and I dropped that last name because it just wasnt really me either. So now I just use my middle name as my last name. My mother and I look alot alike but there are some very strong features that are no way inherrited from my mothers side. I would just like to know where I got my other traits from, and to close the void of who I really am. My search has been one dead end after another.
