Tra le infinite disgrazie di appartenere alla mia infausta generazione (quella dei cinquantenni, per intenderci) c’è una eccezione, una eccezione magnifica che coinvolge con orgoglio e che permette addirittura di rasentare paradossalmente la felicità. I figli dei genitori del dopoguerra hanno per decenni raccolto soprattutto umiliazioni, anche perché, almeno apparentemente, possedevano una embrionale ma discreta “coscienza del sé”. Questo fece si che si ribellassero – a volte anche in maniera violenta ed irrazionale – alla marea di regole obbligatoriamente prestabilite dalla convivenza sociale e che erano ritenute assolutamente castranti ed obsolete. Il tumulto interiore che albergava in soggetti alla ricerca di se stessi – mescolati senz’altro anche a legioni di debosciati -, era aumentato da una emarginazione progressiva imposta da imbonitori di ogni ordine e grado che mai avrebbero lasciato spazi ai cosiddetti capelloni, tossici e così via.. Il risultato è stato il caos, ossia la totale disintegrazione di una generazione annientata dalla droga e da un corollario culturale che ha avuto il suo apice nella “psichedelia”. E in questo fermento vitale, in mezzo a questo magma detestato da sempre dal perbenismo borghese, è nata una stella sulla Terra che brilla e brillerà indelebilmente nel firmamento che ci contiene.. Questa stella oggi è universalmente riconosciuta e porta un nome pulito e amato da tutte le generazioni che hanno seguito la sua nascita. Il suo nome è: Pink Floyd. In ogni angolo del pianeta questo nome ricorda suoni e luci che hanno umanamente sorpassato il valore del tempo, esattamente come i grandi autori della musica del passato. Da quarant’anni con una impeccabilità ed un equilibrio sempre crescenti, quattro gentleman inglesi sono entrati nelle anime di tutti: ricchi e poveri,uomini d’ogni colore e in tutti i continenti… ed addirittura la loro musica ha fatto da colonna sonora per lo sbarco del primo uomo sulla luna nel luglio del 1969. Oggi purtroppo il Loro creatore, che è un poco il simbolo e la sintesi delle generazioni descritte, il Diamante Pazzo Syd Barrett, ci ha lasciato per sempre, ma ciò che ha seminato è un raggio di luce immenso che ci riscatta e che può senz’altro far rabbrividire tutti i potenti della terra: lo scorso anno infatti, nella notte a cavallo tra il 2 e il 3 luglio, quando i quattro discepoli del mito hanno suonato tutti insieme per la prima volta dopo oltre vent’anni a Londra, il mondo intero s’è fermato a guardarli e ha pianto.. In this vital turmoil, in the middle of this magma hated by the conformism of the middle-classes, rose a star on the earth which shines and will shine forever in the sky all around us. Today this star is universally recognized and has a clear name, beloved by all generations which followed its rising. Its name is: Pink Floyd. In each corner of the planet this name recalls sounds and lights which have humanly risen above the value of time, exactly like the great music writers of the past. For forty years, four English gentlemen, touched the souls of everyone - rich and poor, black and white, near and far - with an incomparable perfection and balance . Moreover their music was also used as soundtrack for the landing of the first man on the Moon on July 1969. Today, unfortunately, their Creator, who is the symbol and synthesis of the above described generations, the Crazy Diamond Syd Barrett, left us forever, but what he sowed was an immense ray of light which redeemed us and certainly made shiver all the mighty of the earth. Immagini sommate a suoni metafisici e surreali sono – forse da sempre - doni naturali che la natura ha scelto di offrire parsimoniosamente ad anime gentili e/o sofferenti: un poco come essenze magiche ed impalpabili che scendono su pochi privilegiati i quali riescono così a saziare l’anima superando in parte il convulso transito che il Caso ci impone. A volte i detentori di questi doni, che sono assorbiti da smisurati giochi mentali incontrollati e in divenire, possono diventare molti di più: questo perché possedendo le chiavi dei Grandi Cancelli dei Sensi scelgono di offrire a piene mani queste immagini e questi suoni come fossero una colata lavica che può e deve ad ogni costo incunearsi in altri esseri per farli finalmente uscire dalle dimensioni incolori in cui sono quasi permanentemente calati. Questi cesellatori di sensazioni dimostrano di possedere qualcosa di simile ad una non certo fatua missione da compiere, una ricerca della mente che diventa simbiosi progressiva col corpo e coi mezzi generati dall’uomo e a cui, per fortuna, non possono ne vogliono esimersi: a volte la nostra anima può realmente fondersi e crescere smisuratamente con le sensazioni da Loro generate…. Dalla notte dei tempi ci si sforza di spaziare oltre alla caducità dell’essere, cerchiamo di proiettarci nell’infinito spazio e oltre le leggi del tempo…ma se non con la mente, purtroppo, non possiamo sfuggire realmente a ciò che ci contiene. Ogni Era ha generato portatori di gioia e dolore, come pure ogni Era ha avuto i Suoi esaltatori dello Spirito anche se non sempre purtroppo scevri dai condizionamenti dei potenti del tempo in cui agivano… Personalmente credo che questo Spirito nulla sarebbe se non vivesse in simbiosi con la Natura e con la Ragione e proprio per questo gli strumenti della ricerca umana, sempre più complessi, possono e devono crescere esponenzialmente affinché tutto alla fine diventi così: “Quadri di una esposizione”, ossia tasselli continui d’anime che evolvono ! Ho visto dieci volte, fino ad oggi, coloro che reputo abbiano contribuito a formare senza ombra di dubbio una buona parte dell’ossatura della mia esistenza ! Mai avrei pensato che quando ebbi ancora giovanissimo in mano “la copertina con la mucca” la mia vita sarebbe stata progressivamente assorbita da quei suoni che s’erano fatti immediatamente immagine.. Come una fede - che non ho invece mai avuto -, la dolcezza dei visi contenuti nella “copertina con l’orecchio” hanno contribuito a farmi salire le infinite scale a spirale che ho scoperto ergersi dentro di me .. e mi hanno accompagnato per anni, anni, anni.. poi decenni.. poi un quarto di secolo.. poi un terzo di secolo: i Pink Floyd sono a titolo pieno patrimonio della mia vita come quello di altre cento, mille e mille e ancora mille vite… Il Loro pacato invecchiare, perfino la Loro storica spaccatura - fonte di autentica sofferenza per chi li segue in questo incredibile cosiddetto 2006 dove le anime più convulse del Gruppo agiscono su fronti distinti - ha acquisito un travaglio che ne aumenta il fascino: vorremmo in tanti, quasi sicuramente centinaia di milioni di persone, rivederli insieme raccogliere quello scettro virtuale quale simbolo morale e laico su tutto il marcio del mondo che non abbiamo strumenti per riuscire ad abortire. Roger con il Suo essere rigido e segaligno in scena dimostra una struggente insofferenza per tutte le ingiustizie di cui fino da bambino è stato vittima diretta: la Sua lotta disumana non subirà, è certo, l’oblio del tempo. David mette il Suo cuore dentro le dita che sanno poi trasformare il suono in miele e volo d’aquila. Richard e Nick che sembrano l’ombra dei giganti sono invece l’equilibrio, la pacatezza, l’essenza stessa e il reale collante dei Pink Floyd: essi quindi - tutti e quattro - sono un tutt’uno inscindibile, la quintessenza di un armonia che si pone doverosamente come mediatrice e sintesi su tutte le tragedie del ventesimo secolo. Oscar Wilde nella Sua prefazione al Ritratto di Dorian Gray asserisce che tutta l’arte è assolutamente inutile, ma in questa Era, oggi, l’arte può invece contribuire ad occultare la vergognosa immagine di una politica asservita esclusivamente al Potere e non invece all’Umanità! I Pink Floyd - è un mio fervente auspicio - acquisiranno nel tempo il ruolo di ambasciatori di pace poiché sono portatori tangibili di un messaggio autenticamente universale. In quarant’anni hanno dimostrato una coerenza ed una impeccabilità – se si escludono una parte dei Loro rapporti interpersonali a cui nessuno ha il diritto di interferire – che probabilmente ha pochi precedenti nella Storia dell’Arte: è già riservato a Loro un posto vicino ai geni della musica dei secoli passati, ne sono certo.. Essi inoltre hanno acquisito un valore morale che supera i concetti generazionali. E questo è essere geni !! Quest’estate, durante il mio girovagare per l’Italia alla ricerca del Loro incatenante messaggio sonoro, ho visto solo cose serene che non scorderò mai... Una su tutte: una splendida ragazzina sapeva a memoria tutte le parole e seguiva in perfetto sincrono il canto di Ruggero Acque a Verona… L’ho poi rivista a Venezia aspettare smaniosa lo zio David portando in se la gioia di quei suoni e dei Suoi quattordici anni… I suoi genitori mi hanno detto: a casa nostra si mangiano pane e Pink Floyd … Non mi vergogno di dire che ho pianto. We try to project ourselves into the endless space and beyond the laws of time; but we can’t really escape from what contains us unless with the help of our mind. Every age gave birth to bearer of joy and sorrow as well as every age had its own spirit extollers even if these were not always free from the influences and conditionings of the mighty of that time. I believe that this Spirit will be nothing if not deeply in symbiosis with Nature and Reason and just for this, the instruments of human search, always more and more sophisticated, must and can grow exponentially so that all can at last become: “ Pictures from an exhibition” that is: pieces of souls which continuously evolve… Ten times up to now I saw these people that I think, built most of the skeleton of my existence! I had never thought, when still young I held their “cover with the cow” in my hands, that my life would have changed and be struck so deeply by their sounds and images. Like a faith - which I never had - the sweetness of the faces in the printed cover with the “ear”, helped me to go up by the endless and winding stairs, which, I discovered, were inside of me. They accompanied me for years and years, decades…., a quarter century…., a third century: Pink Floyd are, by full title, a heritage of my life as well as for other hundreds and thousands of lives. Their calm aging, even their historical break - source of suffering for those who follow them during this incredible tour 2006 and where the most jerky souls of the Group act on different fronts - acquired an interior labour which increases their charm. We would like in many, almost surely millions of people, to see them together again trying to hold that virtual sceptre as a moral and secular symbol on all the rot world that cannot be changed in any way. Roger with his stiff and skinny appearance on stage shows an aching restlessness for all injustices to which he was directly subjected from childhood. Surely his inhumane struggle will not suffer the oblivion of Time. David puts all his soul in his fingers which are able to turn sound into sweet melodies or even able to resemble an eagle flight . Richard and Nick who seem shadows of giants, are instead, a symbol of balance, calm, essence and glue itself of Pink Floyd: so they - all four - are a perfect whole, the quintessence of a harmony which duly places itself as a mediator and synthesis on all tragedies of the 20th century. Oscar Wild, in his Preface to “The Picture of Dorian Gray” states that all art is perfectly useless, but in this age, especially nowadays, art can help to conceal the shameful image of a policy exclusively enslaved to Power and not instead to Mankind! Pink Floyd, its my great wish, will gain in future the role of Ambassadors of Peace, since they are true spokesmen of an universal message. In forty years they showed a coherence and a flawlessness - except for their interpersonal relations that nobody has the right to judge - that most probably has few records in the history of art. To them there is already reserved a place near the musical genius of past centuries. Moreover they have such a moral value which goes fairly beyond all the generation concepts. And this means to be Genius! This summer, during my wandering through Italy in search of their linking musical message, I was surrounded only by a peaceful atmosphere which I will never forget… An example for all: “A beautiful girl knew by heart all the words and followed in perfect tune the song of “Ruggero Acque” in Verona.” I saw her again in Venice waiting eagerly for uncle David while nourishing in herself all the joy of those sounds and of her fourteen years. | Comments: | In 1973 i was 12, at my birthday, a friend made me a gift, was "the dark side". Pink floyd made me descovered a new sound universe, that since i descovered, i never stopped to listen it.
Probably none of the band is a virtuoso, but they left the deepest track in the history of the pop music. Too much remembers of my life, are tightly linked to their music. thanks for the great enjoyment felt, and still feeling. |

| Comments: | Quanto mi dispiace essere arrivato una generazione dopo (ho 16 anni) e ho incominciato ad interessarmi dei mitici Pink Floyd intorno a 13 anni. All'inizio non sapevo cosa mi aspettava. Nessuno mi aveva accennato nulla su di loro. Non so cosa mi ha spinto ad ascoltarli. La raccolta "Echoes" uscita da poco (la mia prima esperienza) mi catturò come un magnete anche se non li avevo mai sentiti "come se i Pink stessi mi chiamassero". Cominciai ad informarmi un pò, a scaricacare immagini testi e traduzioni da computer di amici (non avevo internet) e usai i miei risparmi per comprare qualche altro disco che mi avevano consigliato (the dark side of the moon e wish you were here). Così incominciò un periodo strano... era come se mi fossi allontanato dal mondo, come se avessi scoperto la chiave per conoscere la vita, nessuno mio amico mi capiva anzi proprio nessuno mi capiva, quando qualcuno mi faceva domande del tipo che musica ascolti? Lo ascolti quello? Lo ascolti questo? Io facevo scena muta sapendo che tanto non sarei stato compreso... ero come in una spece di meditazione che certo non rovinava i rapporti con gli altri... evitavo argomenti musicali... sapevo che non si trattava di sola musica ma di molto molto molto molto di più... con il tempo mi allontanai completamente dal modo di pensare dei miei amici (anche se ho avuto sempre le mie idee). I Pink hanno sempre più aperto la mia mentalità, non scorderò mai le sensazioni fantastiche che ho provato ad ascoltare le magnifiche melodie che uscivano dal loro cuore. Piano piano ho saputo tutto della loro vita e della loro magnifica avventura durata 40 anni. Solo a sentire parlare di loro un brivido mi parte dalle braccia fino ad arrivare alla schiena e poi al collo. In questi 3 anni ho ascoltato ed ho visto film e dischi che sempre più mi facevano emozionare. Mi è sempre piaciuto molto anche David da solista. Il disco che ascoltavo di più andava a periodi (c'erano i periodi in cui ero patito per The dark side of the moon, i periodi per i dischi con syd ecc...). Ho cercato di capire il modo di pensare di ogni singolo artista che ha partecipato a questa splendida avventura con una leggera preferenza su David.
Sapevo poco su i conflitti fra roger e la band sapevo solo che si erano separati a metà anni 80 e la discografia senza di lui (che ho amato come il resto)ma l'unico disco che proprio non mi andava giù è stato The final cut non riuscivo a farmene un idea quando lo ascoltavo non mi rendevo conto che era già finito (mi sembrava "vuoto")forse avevo percepito (sensa sapere nulla)che nella band si respirava un'aria pesante, che il disco non era stato fatto con tutta la passione del resto dei dischi, anche oggi quel disco non mi va giù. Poi ho incominciato a capire il perchè dei conflitti restando veramente male per Roger cercando di capire il motivo del suo comportamento. Roger la grande mente dall'animo trasparente, non mi sarei mai aspettato tanta avarizia da lui e un tale atteggiamento distruttivo verso i suoi compagni di avventura, mi è sembrato davvero intollerabile... Dopo ho incominciato ad ascoltare più quello che è successo dopo la loro divisione. Ho ascoltato sia Roger che i 3 Pink Floyd... fantastici tutti e 2 ma ho scoperto una cosa... (con tutto il rispetto per Roger grandissima mente) i Pink Floyd secondo me non sono peggiorati, sono diventati più fantastici di prima, i loro volti durante i concerti più sereni, le loro anime più leggere, le emozioni più grandi sono state dopo per me... Roger ha fatto un passo falso ha sottovalutato dei miti. l'ho capito da una conversazione tra Roger e David (David ha chiesto a Roger cosa sarebbe successo al gruppo se fosse andato via e Roger ha risposto <<non cela farete mai sensa di me>>) si sbagliava di grosso a pensare che il merito di tutto quello che era successo era prevalentemente merito suo. I Pink Floyd (senza Roger) hanno dimostrato che non sono mai stati stregati dalla fame di successo ma che tutto quello che hanno fatto veniva dal cuore e che loro 3 non hanno sicuramente pensieri negativi su nessuno e non si accortelleranno mai alle spalle. Un giorno vengo a sapere dell'evento del live8 (sono rimasto sensa fiato per un bel pò) I PINK INSIEME IN DIRETTA! (la mia prima volta in diretta) mi preparo mentalmente al grande evento, cerco di saperne il più possibile (interessato al live 8 anche per i suoi benefici). I Pink Floyd ancora insieme (anche Roger) (solo l'idea che anche io potevo assistere alla loro storia mi ghiacciava il sangue). Il grande giorno poi arriva ed io dalle 14 con la tv accesa (anche se le previsini dicevano che i pink erano alle 8 e 30 )poi finalmente alle 12 i re del cuore sul palco con breathe che apriva la loro esibizione... io davanti allo schermo in apnea. Anche ora che scrivo rimango scoinvolto e con le lacrime su gli occhi. su quel palco c'erano proprio loro!!!!!! coloro che mi hanno aperto la mente e mi hanno insegnato a vivere... Sono veramente stordito!!!! Oggi scrivo questa email e solo oggi mi rendo conto veramente del grande cuore di tutti e 4 ma soprattutto di David, Nick e Richard che con il loro enorme cuore hanno accettato sul palco colui che gli aveva provocato tanto dolore. Hanno ha dimostrato a Roger di che pasta sono fatti e chi sa ora cosa succederà... Roger avrà capito?Se Roger dirà ai 3 miti di essere pentito di ciò che ha fatto verrà accolto sicuramente da chi ha un cuore del genere... chi sa... chi sa se i Pink Floyd al gran completo ci faranno emozionare ancora come nessun altro, io....... io ci credo ancora... |
