There has been a lot happening in my family the past several months. We had a family vacation in Folly Beach and Charleston, SC and just returned Sat. eve. My daughter also just sold her home and moved in with me so things are kinda in disarray but hopefully, we can plan better for next year and the 2nd Sat. in August. The letter about the reunion sounded so exciting and well planned and we're very sorry to miss it. Have a great reunion and we hope to see you next year. |

I also found an older Alex Foren b: abt. 1780-1790 Va.? in the same area 1840 Census. Could he be my Alexander's father?? ALSO in this area (Gibson-Weakley Co's, TN) was a William & Elizabeth Foren & a Moses Foren (Hardeman Co., TN 1830 census), and a Solomon Forehand listed NEXT to a Moses Foren on the Illinois marriage records,I know that this Moses had been is Alabama, and I know this Moses moved to Missouri, and BELIEVE that Solomon did too. William & Elizabeth moved to Mo., and a son of Moses, (William Clayborn Foren) lived in Mo. and went to Oregon on an early wagon train. William & Elizabeth moved to TX & had some Boatright children living with them in Mo, & TX., then I think they went back to Gibson Co., TN & are buried there. I found some "Forehand's" in GA. & Alabama with the same given names as those mentioned above, but the years do not match up, they were also on the Slave Schedules in Ala. & Ga., could it be the same men, just changed the last name spelling?? Desperate to find the link here, & info on my Alexander Foren b: abt 1810-1824/ish (depends on which census you read) that married (Gibson Co., TN) Sarah Stiller in 1834, she was b: abt. 1811N.C. Their bondsman was William Butler, & I think that Alex Foren Baptist Minister signed or did the ceremony? Was TOLD THAT it was on the mariage cert., but have not ordered it yet to confirm. Sarrah Stiller's sister, Catharine also married the same day same bondsman etc., to David Watson, and they moved to Stoddard Co., MO. My g.g.g.grandparents Alexander and Sarrah (Stiller)Foren had these (known so far) children: Rebecca, Susan, Sarrah, Isaac, John, Tennesse "Tennie" = whose given name was Sarah Tennessee Foren b: abt 1854 TN m: William A. Davis b: abt 1838 TN son of William Davis b: abt. 1805 NC & Mary Fowler b: abt. 1806 NC. YES, there was 2 Sarah's, one spelled Sarah nic-named Tennie & went by Tennesse S. often, AND Sarrah spelled like her mother's name. My dad (Marion Joseph Farren - the 1st son of Joe & Emma Nye Farren - is still living (age 87)) and we're going down to visit in Lewisburg, Alderson, etc.in October. Grandpa (Joe) and Grandma (Emma) are buried at what I believe to be called Zion Cemetary on Kaney's (?) Knob Mtn across from the "family" cabin on Big Branch Rd out of Alderson. As you can tell I have much information regarding the family (Dad's siblings), etc. I would like to share it with you to update & correct Grandpa's section. Maybe I should tell you that Grandpa is listed in the Sixth Generation of Darby Forehand. One of his sisters was Mellie Farren Ford Gunnoe.

My family is as follows (starting with my great-grandparents): George Douglas Dixon (3-26-1863 - 3-13-1942) married Margaret Jane Bowyer (9-27-1868 - 6-20-1948) James Harvey Dixon (9-25-1808 - 7-22-1885) married Lucinda Stiles (8-14-1837 - 9-10-1902) George W. Stiles (1810) married Mary Kelly (1816) on 5-19-1831 in Botetourt County, VA. She was the daughter of James B. Kelly. I believe one of Lucinda's brothers (John A.
