Comments:We stayed at your lovely apartment and had a wonderful respit from travel. What a delightful peace of paradise nestled in the country! I was so pleased we got in early enough to sneak in a hike in your woods and still have some daylight left to enjoy the screened in porch (where I watched a deer scamper across the road). My horse Willie was thrilled to have a paddock to run and roll in after being cramped in a horse trailer for two long travel days.

I would surely recommend your facility both for humans and horses. I hope to make it a regular stop-over as we travel back and forth across the country.

Comments:We can't thank Danny and Vicki enough for their generous hospitality during our overnight stay there. We were traveling with three horses from Springfield, IL, to Austin, TX, and back and couldn't have asked for a nicer place for us all. The horses had large roomy stalls with automatic waterers and had a relaxing overnight each way. We couldn't believe how nice the bunkhouse was - two queen size beds and separate bedrooms, bath, kitchen, sofa, recliner, TV and even a computer! The decor is western and comfortable - we will tell everyone that if they are coming thru Tulsa with horses, it's a must stopover! Thanks again!

Comments:
What a wonderfull ranch you have Danny & Vicky nesslted in the oak woods of OK. Lots of room too. It was a good resting place for not only my two horses but for me also. I wanted to stay longer but the time constrants of travel dictated otherwise, to bad. perhaps oneday I will come for a holiyday of sorts. It will be like returning to visets friends.

If anyone findes this place on-line they will find a warm an friendly ranch in which to rest during stressful travel, well it can get stressful at times as we travelers understand, not only for our horses.

The filcites for the horses are indeed top notch. the cabin is a wonderfull guesthouse, clean and "cowboy quant". I hated to go. As a matter of fact I asked if they needed a ranchhand to stay on for a while, ha, ha.

Fort Dodge recalled RabVac 3 TF serial number 873113A rabies vaccine May 25, 2006 after a vaccinated dog contracted rabies (The Charlotte Observer http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/business/14786163.htm; http://www.dogsadversereactions.com/RabvacRecall.html). This batch of vaccine "was released into the veterinary market in November 2004 and expires June 29, 2006." Concerned owners can call Fort Dodge at 800-533-8536. Wyoming's State Vet Lab posted the recall letter at http://wyovet.uwyo.edu/Diseases_2006.asp.

Two world-renowned giants of veterinary vaccine research -- Dr. W. Jean Dodds of Hemopet and Co-Trustee of The Rabies Challenge Fund www.RabiesChallengeFund.org and Dr. Ronald Schultz of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine -- have volunteered their time to ensure that critical 5 and 7 year rabies challenge studies are conducted in the United States. The studies will be financed by The Rabies Challenge Fund Charitable Trust, a tax-exemption organization founded by Maine pet vaccine disclosure advocate Kris L. Christine in 2005, and will be performed by Dr. Schultz. The University of Wisconsin has waived its 48% overhead fee for the studies.
The concurrent challenge studies will determine the duration of immunity conveyed by the canine rabies vaccine, with the goal of extending the state-mandated interval for boosters to 5, and then to 7 years. According to Dr. Dodds, “This is one of the most important projects in veterinary medicine. It will benefit all dogs by providing evidence that protection from rabies vaccination lasts at least 5 years, thereby avoiding unnecessary revaccination with its attendant risk of debilitating adverse reactions. "
Scientific data indicate that vaccinating dogs against rabies every three years, as most states require, is unnecessary. Studies have shown the duration of protective immunity as measured by serum antibody titers against rabies virus to persist for seven years post-vaccination, and results of a 1992 French challenge study led by Michel Aubert demonstrated dogs were immune to rabies five years after vaccination. Researchers believe the rabies vaccine causes the most and worst adverse reactions in animals and concur that it should not be given more often than necessary to maintain immunity. Adverse reactions to rabies vaccination can include autoimmune diseases affecting the thyroid, joints, blood, eyes, skin, kidney, liver, bowel and central nervous system; anaphylactic shock; aggression; seizures; epilepsy; and fibrosarcomas at injection sites.
Dr. Schultz states “[s]howing that a vaccine for rabies can provide 5 or preferably 7 years of immunity would have great significance not only in controlling rabies but more importantly in reducing the adverse vaccine reactions that can occur in dogs and cats after vaccination."
