| Comments: | How utterly surprised and deeply touched I was to recently receive one of Victoria's Quilts. Having enjoyed quilting a wee bit myself, I appreciate the craftmanship and hours of love that went into it. It is beautiful! But what it represents is even more profound. As I head into treatment again for my recurring leukemia it will provide comfort and warmth certainly, but will also be a reminder of a large circle of loving hands and caring hearts which produced it. That alone will be support beyond knowing. From the bottom of my heart, 'thank you'. |

| Comments: | My dear Mom Ruth was diagnosed suddenly in April 2006 with lung cancer and our lives changed forever. I had heard of Victoria's Quilts from a friend and I called to see if I could request a quilt for Mom to help her through her chemo. The quilt came to the house so quickly and brought a smile so bright to Mom's face. The two lovely women who brought the quilt were wonderful and had the best visit with Mom. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the quilt is. Mom had us put it on her hospital bed (we had her set up at home)immediately and curled up in it. She loved that quilt so much, the shades of peach were so calming. She was only able to tolerate one day of chemo and sadly passed away in Sept. 2006.....gone far far far too soon. We even draped her quilt over her in her casket as it was such a part of her for 4 months. At her funeral we read the card that came with the quilt that said what cancer could not ever take from you.
I cannot tell you how many times we have wrapped ourselves in Mom's quilt, it is like getting a hug from Mom herself. It is deeply cherished and will be passed on to her grandaughter. I hope you all know what a kind wonderful thing you are doing for those who suffer from this terrible disease and for their families as well. I had a quilt sent to a friend who loved hers so much as well and has since passed and her family now has this to cherish. I now have another friend who will be starting chemo and I will be calling for yet another quilt for her to have for comfort. Now that life has settled somewhat I will be making a donation in Mom's honour to VQC who brought warmth to her on her journey. I thank you from my heart......Diane Craig (Kanata) |

| Comments: | Getting a diagnosis of cancer is a terrible shock and surprise to most everyone. In my case, my breast cancer diagnosis was quickly followed by a delightful, touching and unexpected surprise --- a gorgeous Victoria's Quilt!
With no prior consultation, the quilt (delivered to me by one of your wonderful volunteers) turned out to be the perfect colours for me --- bright red, vivid pink, purple and white. I certainly lit up the dreary chemo room when I was at treatment. I used my quilt at home during my treatments that whole summer & fall. Today, it stays on the sofa, handy for afternoon naps and a constant reminder of the kindness, love and support of friends, perfect strangers and God. My name was referred by an friend whose mother-in-law had been provided one during her battle with breast cancer. And now I'm referring a friend from my church for a quilt while she battles lung cancer. God Bless all of you involved with the ministry of Victoria's Quilts. You just can't imagine how much joy and warmth --- both literally and figuratively --- your quilts provide to those of us "surprised" to be fighting cancer. Susan |

These beautiful people that give their time and talent to complete strangers, what a great gesture of love they have for thier fellow brothers and sisters some whom they have never met. Imagine being comforted by a total stranger, a person with unconditional love, who wants to help you in your darkest hour. They give love and I want to let them know that I pray the love will come back to them ten fold.

| Comments: | Hello Angels,
My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 49 this January. She has had a lumpectomy and we just found out today that her lymph nodes are clear. Wow, we all are aware of cancer and what it does to people, but when it is your own family member, it takes it to another level. She told me about receiving a quilt from Victoria's Quilts Canada and asked me to convey to all of you how thankful she is as our whole family is. What a wonderful feeling to know that there are people out there who donate their time and efforts to support people who are going through this traumatic transition in their lives. From the bottom of our hearts, please accept our thanks and know that you are angels here on earth contributing in a most wonderful way. Keep up the good efforts. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help the cause. Pam |

It was a surprise for her but also for me when it arrived because I thought it would take much longer. What a wonderful gift of the heart this is. Thank you to all the people who contributed to this bright spot in her day. I certainly appreciate it and I know she was speechless. |

| Comments: | After 39 years, I've decided to retire in December 2006; then in January 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After going through chemo and radiation treatments, I am a breast cancer survivor. Last summer I've met one of my sister's colleague, who also has cancer, and she was the one who requested a quilt for me. So last November, this lovely quilt was delivered at my house by one of your volunteer. I have been using it while watching TV or having a snooze. I thought it was such a good idea, that I requested one for my nephew in Quebec City. Again, many thanks and Congratulations to your organization for bringing joy and comfort to cancer patients.
Je suis une survivante du cancer du sein. Je ne connaissais pas votre organization avant de recevoir une jolie courtepointe en novembre 2007. Merci a tous vos benevoles et continuer votre bon travail. |

NOW yesterday my own quilt arrived - ordered by friends and family - the comfort this "blanky' brings I cannot fully explain - its like being held in the arms of angels; its just such a loving artical. Thank you so much for the work you do. |

| Comments: | Last May my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer. Shortly thereafter, a quilt arrived from Victoria's Quilts. She loved it dearly and kept it close by all through the chemo treatment. Later, when we went out for walks in November(her in a wheelchair) it kept her warm. I am including the story of how we got the wheel chair in and out of the house.
For a while we could take short walks. Then we could go out in a wheelchair. Then I couldn’t move Linda up and down the stairs anymore. On Monday I phoned Cyril, a colleague at the school and asked if he could help me in any way. Within an hour, he and Virgil were at the school assessing the situation. The next day, after school, a convoy of 5 staff, 20 students and a parent show up at our house with a pre-fabricated ramp. These kids worked for the next few hours, installing a ramp for Linda. I have never felt such gratitude and pride as a teacher. We were literally moved to tears. Virgil told me how many of the kids had come in during their spares, lunch and after school to help with this project. This is truly what it means to be part of a school family and I feel very fortunate. It is a testament to youth everywhere and a powerful reminder of why I love being a teacher. Unfortunatley she passed away in December. I would love to keep the quilt, but I know how much warmth it gave Linda (in both a physical and spiritual sense) that I had to pass it on. Thank-you again. |

| Comments: | I would like to thank everyone at Victoria's Quilts profusely for the beautiful quilt that was sent to my sister-in-law yesterday. She called us last night to tell us she received it yesterday. The timing couldn't have been better, because she starts chemotherapy today. She plans on taking the quilt with her, since she said she finds the hospital cold. She also told us it came with a bag for carrying it and a bookmark with a truly inspirational (and tear-provoking) message. She plans on taking it all with her today for warmth and emotional comfort. No one can place a value on what it is that you do for people (including the one you sent to my mom that my cousins, Bonnie and Cheryl, requested). Thank you so much! |

| Comments: | In July I had Surgery for Breast Cancer and when I returned home from the hospital my dear friend Karen Currie was diagnosed with Cancer as well. Her prognosis was not as good as mine. She received a beautiful quilt from her sister-in-law. At that time I was unaware of your quilts and hadn't seen the tag on the back. Two weeks ago, six days after Karen's funeral, I receive a gift. A beautiful Quilt. My friend's gift to me is a cherished treasure because I miss her so. It has brought me great deal of comfort over the last couple of weeks. I wish I could thank her with a hug but since I can't I will thank her by telling the story of a wonderful woman dying with cancer and still looking after her friends. I know Karen is now in a better place and haveing this quilt brings me a special bond and closeness with a friend whose zest for life and caring ways will never be forgotten. She holds a corner of my heart now and for always.... and the song from beginning to end, I found in the heart of a friend....Thank you Karen! |

| Comments: | I have come to your site before. You were gracious enough to send quilts, one to a young man who at 15 carried it to chemo and after his passing gifted his quilt to his Dad to keep him warm and remind him of how much love there was in the quilt. A friend of mine with double breast cancer received one of your quilts, there was such joy in knowing that someone cared so much to create something so beautiful and bestow it at such a time of need. Again, I've come to ask for another quilt for a man who is a police office, a husband and father of three little daughters. I know this will be so special. He has throat cancer and is on a 5th round of treatment. Thank you so much for being there. |

| Comments: | Imagine my shock when I opened the parcel to reveal such a lovely, warm, handmade quilt. I had never heard of this organization so this took me by total surprise. My deepest thanks to my dear friend, Jane P., for nominating me as well as the two angels, Deborah O. and Lucille L., who so lovingly made the quilt. Every time I cuddle up in this quilt, I will feel the love and comfort of many.
Although my cancer journey has just begun (invasive ductal carcinoma), I am familiar with how devastating cancer can be. My identical twin sister was diagnosed with stage four nonHodgkins lymphoma five years ago. Because she was chemo reisistant, she needed a stem cell transplant. I was her donor but unfortunately after only eight months the cancer returned. Again she was offered a stem cell transplant and I was her donor. After radiation treatments, a miracle happened. She has been cancer free for two years now. I just wanted to let others know that miracles do happen. And of course, we all know that angels do exist....just like the volunteers of VQC. Thank you and may God bless you all. Bette |

| Comments: | What an absolutely wonderful thing you do! As a Breast Cancer Survivor, one time convenor of our local Reach To Recovery program and chair of our Breast Health Forum I know how deeply you must touch each and every person you send a quilt to. Kudos |

| Comments: | I received a quilt last week and just wanted to say it touched my heart and my family's hearts. Especially my two children age 9 and 10. They could not believe that there are angels whom we never see do acts of kindness and thoughtfulness.
Thank you with all my heart Sylvie Rondeau |
