Comments:Hi Vincent I have just bought a second hand Technics SX-C300 which came with a SY-FD5 disk recorder. It is in brilliant condition and all I paid was £40.00 so I am really pleased with it I am trying to find out how to use the SY-FD5 disk recorder and how to format the floppy disks. Kind regards and thanks for a very informative web site. Regards Ceejay

Comments:Hi, Vincent. I'm so glad I found your website! I have had a love of the organ since I was just a toddler...a love I inherited from my father. I have a Technics SX-EA1 which I bought in 1998 (I was just 20 years old) and it still looks and sounds like new! While I love my organ, the SX-EA3 was my first love. I had lost interest in the organ starting in 1999 and there was a 4-year period where I didn't play a note. About 2 months ago, I began to want to play my organ again, but I couldn't find the right inspiration help me get back into playing again, until I found your site. Reconnecting to my first love, the EA3, is a powerful motivator for me and one day, I'd love to get an EA3 to supplement and complement my EA1 and stand as backup if my EA1 quits working. Thank you for this site and helping keep the Technics and organ tradition alive! - Denise Johnson

Comments:Hi, just searching a Google for good technics organ site when I suddenly found this site. And all i can say is it's just help built my interest back, after my organ being left for a long time being untouched, just because i have a limited information all about its features, like sequencer, etc. I owned a Technics EN3 organ, just a little bit older than yours. I know there are quite limited information through the net, since the organ is not popular anymore after the explosion of mp3 fans. Right now I'm just looking for any used floppy driver for this model, so that I could play along with the recorded information.

If you have any information regarding on these, you can provide me a link. I looked into eBay before, but I don't quite sure about it's quality. I hope there could be someone who are willing to sell this thing on the net.

Anyway, thanks for the website, keep the good works and stuff!

Comments:I have a beautiful Technics SX-GX6M that someone threw out because it stopped working. It has some power but no sound and I need a service manual without paying $30. I found a website that has the SX-GX5 and SX-GX7 service manuals in PDF format for only $5 so I need to know if those 2 organs are all digital and from the same era (mid 1980's) like mine.
Thank you

Comments:Hi Vincent; I visited your webpage and would like to introduce myself. I am 71 this year and have played various organs for many, many years. Recently I was given a Technics SX-GN6 organ. At first it didn't sound just right (especially the pedals), so I took the back off the lower speaker box. The two 6 1/2" midrange speakers had deteriorated outer cones, and the one 8" middle bass speaker was completely missing!
I ordered new "Soundstorm" speakers. One #SP84 450W 4 ohm bass, and two #CP68 275W 8 ohm midrange 6 1/2" speakers. They should make the GN6 sound great. Do you know if the software for all the GN Technics Organs are the same? I think there is a GN3, GN5, GN6, and GN9. Are they all compatible? How about the GX7 or 9; they are older models?
The voicing on this GN6 is fantastic; from what I heard so far. Is there a “Chimes” or “Church Bell” voice on it? The disk drive just spins and does not read an original Technics floppy. It spins, stops and says “no disk” on the screen. It seems that the “read head” is not reading the disk. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove (and/or) repair the floppy disk drive? Anything you wish to share on the Technics organs will be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Nelson A. Clark

I have a Technics GA3 having updated from a GA1 several years ago. The only Technics software that I can compare the above with is the Glen Miller disks which I thought were the best that Technics produced until I used Marks.

I believe her third keyboard is a yamaha 5700. The yamaha has a nice stand and bench. There are multiple microphones and small accessories. In addition there is a Roland keyboard amplifier ROKC 100.
We would like to sell them, preferably together. We live between Fort Myers Florida and Naples Florida. Any suggestions or help you can offer is appreciated.I know the organ is not worth much but thought keyboards and items bundled together might help sell.

Thanks for your great site for all of us Technics organ fans. I recently aquired a very rare and mint SX-U90P (Pro90) from 1982, and I had no idea as to how portable it is. However, The owner sold the two T50 tone cabinets 9 years ago, as he couldn't fit them into his new and smaller condo. I first saw this beauty in a Panasonic store in 82' and it was selling for >$12000.00!. This is my first real organ as I own synths. However, the sounds out of this retro design flagship are out of this world!.

Comments:Good evening Vincent,
thanks for your website, it's a jewel among the pebbles.
the reason I found your site is because i have just purchased a Technics SX EN3 XL which I have so far been unable to find much real info about it.
I purchased it on our main auction site called TradeMe http://www.trademe.co.nz for $260 NZ...$188.51 US.
this is the description given by the previous owner.Quote/Technics SX EN3 XL Organ with bass pedals, floppy drive, Volume pedal also has a wah wah type effect. Easy to transport as the keyboards detach from the base. Very good condition. Couple of minor nicks in wood at side. These organs are highly sought after and are selling on Ebay for around US $800. Check out You tube to hear what these machines can do. Sorry no manual but this can be purchased online for about $25. /end quote.
You can view a front view of the organ at:-
http://eliza.50g.com/108381116_full.jpg
I am picking it up on Monday.
Thankyou again for your website. It is a real mine of information.

So far I have been very lucky and I have managed to get hold of a user manual for my EX70 from another guest of this site, who has turned out to be a very good friend now and I am so delighted.

Comments:Hi, Just located this site on Firefox searching for information on my Technics GN3 organ. I am retired and now have time to explore this fine instrument. It is rarely used now because the removable disk drive is working very intermittently. I have about forty years working in electronics with Philips but have had no success in getting the multiple 3 1/2 inch DD disks to load into the organ. The removable drive is clean inside, cleaned heads and reinstalled. One floppy does work with a MIDI file. I have used DOS, Windows 95 to XP Pro to format in different modes but with no success. Is there software out there to input music through the MIDI input? I have not been able to get any technical information on this system. I do have several manuals that came with the organ but have had no luck using the information. Do you know where I can get useable information. Thank You,
Howard

If you have any information on the Technics ga1 or ga3 could you please send it by email.

Comments:Oh forgot something I was going to say.....
I have had some luck ordering parts directly from panasonic for my Fa-1. I have found it quite easy to take apart and fix myself. If anyone else out there needs any help with this I may be able to explain some things for them. I have found that over time the switches behind the rubber front buttons and tempo dial have worn from repeated use. Also vibrations over time have caused several broken solder joints on various boards that I have been able to repair myself. I'm now attempting to order and replace the boards behind the instrument selection buttons that hold switches. If I cannot get these boards from panasonic I will be trying to locate another Fa-1 or Ga-1 or 3 to cannibalize the needed parts from and solder the switches in myself. Many of the hardware type items used in the same generation of organ will work on different models in that particular series. So if you are looking for switches, dials, speakers, or keys exact model number parts donors are not always necessary. Just take off the parts you need and solder them in to your organ if replacement boards are no longer available. Do keep in mind though that this only works some of the time...not always. And you do have to have a steady hand and some patience while soldering or you will end up causing more damage than repair.

Comments:Just came across your site while looking for panasonics parts order site. I have a Fa-1 That I bought new from a retailer I used to work for here in Arkansas. (Dell Rich. He used to be an artist for Lowry before leaving to open a store). For some reason he was never able to sell it and it stayed in stock for a long time before I bought it. Ive had it for 8 years. I started working there when I was 16. I'm 35 now and still fascinated with the quality of sound and overall performance of the machine. I had the opportunity to play just about every brand of electronic organ while working there. Wersi, lowry, technics, hammond, roland, and many others. Technics is by far the best built and most enjoyable by far!!! I wonder if panasonic realizes how many of us out there would still be buying new ones if they existed?

I'm totally new with the electone and will be starting classes at Yamaha. A friend was getting rid of a GN3 which I gladly accepted, not knowing how I'd fare with my classes. Problem is, I've no idea at all how it works. Will a Yamaha floppy work with a Tecnics model? Is it totally impossible to have classes at Yamaha whilst having a Tecnics? I'm hesitant to purchase a Yamaha electone cos the GN3 works perfectly well. Could you please advise me?

Bad thing is that it is 1000 miles away. My wife wants us to fly over there and pick it up in a u-haul but I was hoping to look up the specs. on it. It appears there is not a lot of information on the Internet about these organs.

So, I was wondering if you knew how much they weigh? Do they break down into seperate pieces for shipping? Would it be best to get a bonded mover? Would a u-haul be to fragile a move?

Thanks for your time

A GA3 weighs about 230 lbs (104kg) in total. I would recommend a good mover as the electronics are generally are quite sensitive to shocks...Vincent

Recently I decided to purchase an EA5 or later mode, but I find owners are still over optimistic at the prices asked, however to cheer muself up I bought a new Yamaha, yes a Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard and I find it a great instrument. But an organ has that special feeling about it so I shall still look for a Technics, maybe I shall get lucky. Best wishes to all. James Darlington.

Comments:I am an Activity Director at a Senior Community in Elgin, Illinois. We recently acquired a donation of a wonderful Technics E66 PCM organ. It has a roll top cover that has a lock to lock the keyboard from being tampered with. DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A KEY FOR IT???????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Comments:I really admire your work for Technics organ. I have invested (2) of them in the late 80s and early nineties. Those days it was very expensive but I really have enjoyed the wonderful sounds created by the manufacturer of this music instruments.

Keep up the good work by sharing all your midi files and etc with others music lovers.

All the best,

Comments:I stumbled upon your website by accident. Learned lots, especially that the Technics organ is no longer being made. Sad.. I have a GA1 and in the past have bought composer and panel memories disks for it. I was trying to find a rythym disk for the organ for a song titled, Hava Nagalia. So far no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Comments:After searching the web I have now found your site. I am a new owner of a Technics EX 70 but unfortunately this has come with no Owners Instruction Manual. I have had other makes of organs for the past 20 years but am in desperate need of a manual for this one. I have tried to follow the steps on your site but get lost every time. I am afraid the web terrifies me more than the organ. I wonder if you could help me to locate a manual which obviously I am prepared to pay for.
Thanking you for your help,
Ken

You can find a manual in PDF format in this website: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/220239/index.html#anker_220239 Search under Musical instrument (Vincent)
