| Text:: | Well, the WEJB CD Vol. 8 has encountered a slight delay. Because this record is coming out on the fine Rivermont label this time, there were some adjustments that had to be made to the graphics and the booklet/liner notes. But all is finished and it is at the manufacturer right now. I expect to have the finished product by mid-September. Thank you all for your patience. |

| Text:: | Hello WEJB! We made it to your March 28th appearance in the Side Bar at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn. What a fun evening! The acoustics in that room are really great so we were able to hear all the creativity and skill of each musician AND even the aside remarks between the band members could be enjoyed by the very attentive audience. As usual, you played a wide variety of tunes and gave everyone a full evening of some familiar melodies and some that were new to our ears. Each time we hear Mike introducing the tunes, we marvel at his wealth of knowledge of all things Sweet & Hot and more. I could ramble on about the good time we had, but, I'll just close by saying that you always manage to put smiles on all the faces in the audience (especially ours) and that's one of the signs of a GREAT band Thanks for all the fun. We'll be enjoying you again soon! heidi |

| Text:: | Hi, Rusty, We had a wonderful time at the Coon-Sanders festival and we are glad you did, too. We especially enjoyed doing the recreation of a 1929 Coon-Sanders radio broadcast with our capable announcer, Dale Jones. Our mission is to not let Joe and Coonie be forgotten, and this fine fest makes that possible. We are delighted to be invited back again next year, May 18 and 19, 2007. We then followed it up with an appearance at the Ted Lewis Festival in Ted Lewis Park in Circleville, Ohio. We did some signature Lewis tunes like "Land of Jazz" and "Sunny Side of the Street." And I must say, if you ever get a chance, get yourself over to the Ted Lewis Museum there. It is a treasure trove of Lewis memorabilia that would be of interest to jazz fans and entertainment historians alike. Contact Polly at (740)477-3630 to get a personal tour, and tell her the West End Jazz Band sent you. "Is Everybody Happy?" |

The West End Jazz Band was there along with others and they didn't disappoint. Each player is truly professional in there own right and it clearly shows through their performance. I encourage anyone remotely interested in 20's/30's period jazz to buy a CD or, better yet, listen in person. They are nothing short of the THE BEST. My recommendation is the CD "Blue Lantern". | Text:: | Yes, that was Leah sitting in with the Riders in the Sky on September 25 at their performance in Baraboo. These cowboys were quite wonderful to play music with. Joey filled in any holes with amazing musicianship. Woody Paul played a terrific solo and said, and this is an exact quote, "I listen to your CDs all the time." Too Slim was courageous and a good sport to play a tune he did not know just to accommodate Leah (and he played it perfectly, I might add). And Ranger Doug was most gracious and charming and kept the rhythm going. And it was the closest Leah ever got to a genuine Stromberg. This was a once-in-a-liftime memorable moment that will have to be added to her official biography. The Riders are great fun, terrific musicians and very entertaining. | Text:: | Although I wasn't able to be there, I heard that your gig at The Milk Pail, in Dundee, IL, on December 12th was a musical extravaganza and enjoyed by an overflow crowd of revelers (it is Christmas, after all). I know that people ALWAYS get more than their moneys worth from your group and I can't think of a happier way to get into the holiday spirit than spending an afternoon listening to your music live. May all the members of the WEJB and thier families enjoy a peaceful and contented Christmas and much WELL DESERVED success in the new year!!!! God bless! |

| Text:: | We had the pleasure of seeing you for the first time at the Decatur Club in Decatur, IL. on 11-06-04. What a wonderful evening it was listening and dancing to your great sounding tunes from that magical musical era of the 1920's. You may remember Tom as this was a costume party and Tom won best male dress with his 20's gangster's outfit. Tom's prize was your CD recorded live at the Blue Lantern and we have enjoyed it so that we have ordered your latest CD volume #5. We plan to attend the annual event at the Blue Lantern in May of 2005 and look forward to recapturing all of the sights and sounds from a time when the dance music was hot and jazz was king. |

| Text:: | Hi, guys. Volume 5, SWEET & HOT DANCE MOVIE PALACE STYLE, is excellent. The theater organ also is an interesting addition. I am today sending a copy of this CD to our friend Willis Morrisette, in Rocky Mount, N. C. I just spoke with him by phone and he's doing well, despite his 93 years. He asked to be remembered to you. |

| Text:: | I do a weekly radio program on WDCB 90.9FM that features Chicago's best bands and entertainers. The show is aired at 5 p.m. Chicago time on Saturdays and is called "Midwest Ballroom." The station broadcasts from College of DuPage and can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.wdcb.org. I am very happy to play tunes from the West End Jazz Band's albums. Mike Bezin has assembled a sparkling and talented group that plays authentic jazz renditions of the early standards. The WEJB performs at concerts as well as dances and is always well-received. I will be looking forward to their appearance in the summer of 2005 at the Schaumburg Library, and reading a coming suburban newspaper article about this fine band. This is a fresh sounding band that brings back the heart and soul of good music. Sincerely, John Russell-Midwest Ballroom/WDCB. |

It is so nice to have quality musicians playing our favorite music. We will be keeping an eye and ear out for you getting back to this area so we can see you live again. Until then we will be listening to your CDs on a regular basis. Keep up the great jazz tradition. God Bless! |
