| Comments: | Hi Denise, In case you have not heard your uncle Burton died in Egypt this week. Bill got a call from Harry on Monday with some info. Edwin had heard from Burton's partner. He and Edwin and decided to have him cremated in Egypt. Edwin asked Harry to call. Bill is not sure exactly what he died from,(I think he thought he heard heart failure). or when he died. Again I think Bill thinks it was the day before Harry called. No real info on Services. I realize you probably have more info than we have, but did not want to assume anything. Hulsaver -born in Ireland-1855-1926-buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Canajoharie, NY-married Frank Keneipp?) is not the Mary Holsaver who married Frank Keneipp. We're not sure who our Mary Holsaver is, but she and Frank were married on April 3, 1888 in Canajoharie, NY. Mary Holsaver Keneipp's DoB/DoD are Jan. 24, 1868/ June 16, 1895. She is buried next to her husband, Frank Keneipp in the Evergreen Cemetery, Painesville, Lake County, OH. I'm descended from Frank and his second wife, Carrie Belle Davison. My cousin Jerry Stevens is descended from Frank Keneipp and Mary Holsaver and has been working on her line as best he can. If you have turned up any information that would fit OUR Mary Holsaver, Jerry and I would be pleased. |

| Comments: | Great website! My father's mother was Mary Ellen Hulsaver, from the Frankfort / Ilion, NY area. Her parents were Ellen Duncan and James Hulsaver. James's father was Stephen, who died May 18, 1898 in New York City. Stephen was married to Jane (1836-1890). Their children were James, Mary, Stephen, and Jane. This is according to the research my uncle did years ago. I'm trying to sort it all out. I don't see Phebe, or Pheby anywhere in my records. Are our families connected?

| Comments: | I want to find ancestors of Richard Casler b. 11/18/1773 at Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY, USA and Ann Eve Schell b. 1779, m. 1796. They had 10 or 11 children. They moved to Michigan, to Niagara Falls, to Streetsville,Ontario in 1821.
I believe the ancestors are Johannas (Black Jacob) Casler, who emigrated from the Lower Palatinate (Germany) with his two sons Jacob and Nicholas who each received deeds to 100 acre lots, Jacob at Little Falls and Nicholas at Rankins Lock. Also interest, from the same area, the Petre and McCollum Families. I have info on the Canadian descendents. |

My great grandmother Margaret Thomas Fleming lived in Rome, N.Y. after her marriage. I remember grandma telling about living and working on the Erie Canal.She told one story about her mother holding her when she was a baby and her mother was shot in the other shoulder by a stray bullet when there was trouble with the workers on the canal.Grandma was a year old.She was born January 6,1864. I think we must be distant cousins. |

I hope you and yours are doing well. Very interesting research that you have been doing. I remember that my grandmother Bertha Davis used to go to the town of Grey NY, i think it is north of Little Falls. For memorial day she and aunt Edna used to go to the cemetary there. It may have been the Davis family, as her husband, Burton Davis, was from that area. He had many siblings, as did Bertha, but Bertha was from Little Falls. My grandmother Bertha used to tell me stories about when they were dating. We're talking the late 1880's. He picked her up in a horse drawn carrage, and she said on the way home from their date, he put his hand on her knee, and she slapped it. She laughed as she told the story. Also Bertha's father, lived to be nearly 100, and i used to hear stories about him. He owned a Soap factory along the Mohawk river, near Little Falls. It burned down and in those days people didn't have insurance, so he started a fruit peddling business along the Mohawk river. He would go to Albany to the wholesaler and buy fruit, and then travel back to Little FAlls and sell his fruit along the way and sell the rest back in Little Falls. Because i Lived with Eva, Janet, and Bertha during most of my teenage years, I loved to hear the stories that she told, and she loved to tell me the stories. She always made me feel loved and special, and was always full of incouragement for me. I miss her. |
