Although I wish John Nettles the best of luck in the future I am very sad to see him go. He has been absolutely brilliant & the series certainly will not be the same without him. Rumour has it that ITV will continue the series but my plea to them would be please do not do a 'Taggart' which descended into the realms of the ridiculous with different people playing the character after Mark McManus died. Congratulations John for bringing another fine character to our screens. Many of a certain age doubted you could do it after Bergerac but you have proved what a great and versatile actor you are. |

It is really addictive and I am already so on to it I just can't quit it, so if and when they stop showing it I'll kill someone! Just kidding there, I think there will be plenty more to come im my country. Anyway, frankly, it is on this site I first found out that in between the periods of Troy and Ben as Barnaby's seargants, there was actually another guy! Don't laugh! I haven't seen a single episode featuring John Hopkins in my country. So I just skipped that part. I was, as you all were practically SHOCKED when Daniel Casey left the series! I thought I could never get over that and get used to Ben but now I find Jason Hughes very cool too. This film RULES! It is number 1! |

| Comments: | Hi! I absolutely LOVE Midsomer Murders and I think this site is fantastic! (Everything connected to Midsomer Murders is cool) I can't quite pick out a favourite episode, -I've seen nearly every one of them and they are all great- but I think I will always remember DEATH'S SHADOW and DEATH IN CHORUS. I think that there are two reasons why Midsomer Murders is so charming and successful. One of them is the concept of it in general - it is so different than the American thrillers we are used to; the idillic surroundings contrasted to the creepy plots and brutal murders produce a very special effect. The second reason is the actors, because I think that they have outdone themselves in every single episode. Now, the first episode I saw was DEATH IN DISGUISE. Since then, I am proud to say, I haven't missed watching an episode (except for last Sunday, when there was no signal on Channel 5 - did all I could but it was hopeless). I could spend pages and hours talking about why I love this first-class crime drama, but one thing is certain: I SO LOVE IT! |

| Comments: | My husband & I got a set of Midsomer Murders from my brother, Arch when the writer's strike occured. We fell in love with each and every character. My husband is a retired jet pilot who has visited England. I am hoping to do so. I am a retired English and history teacher. We both adore anything of the British Isles. This is like having friends in England. Our ancestors came from there and we love seeing the countryside. We live in New Mexico outside of Albuquerque. It is a desert warm and dry. The green of England is "to die for." Thank goodness we have discovered there is a ten series we can order. We loved the Sgt. Troy character but we love the new Sgt. Scott as well. All the characters are well defined and entertaining. Barnaby and his wife and daughter are a delight. We have two sons, a Dr. of physics and a teacher of Behavior disordered students working on his PHD. They have two good wives and a medical biologist and a lawyer. They have given us four grand daughters and a grandson, ages 5,4,3,2,1. Our sons and daughters in law love the series as well. Hopefully they will "live long and prosper," to quote Star Trek. | Comments: | Apparently I am the only one in the world new to Midsomer Murders having watched it only the last year or so. Until I found it here in Texas on Biography Channel, I had no idea it existed! I've discovered it has been around for quite some time...just now available to me through Bio. Chan.
It has proven to be a delightful series to watch and I did every Sunday afternoon and evening. Well, as luck would have it the time here in some areas (including mine) has been changed to Saturdays at 8:00 AM...how silly/unwise/dreadful/aggravating of Bio. Chan. The uproar is tremendous! Viewers and fans from all over the US are complaining. The British have a way for sure with mysteries...and a great many Americans are anxious for relief from television programming sent to us VIA network and/or cable. I hope to read the filming of Midsomer Murders has continued. The writing is excellent, the characters portrayed beautifully, the countryside wonderous to behold, and the mixture of humor versus seriousness is perfect. Please know it is very popular here in the USA. |

| Comments: | Midsomer Murders combines the gentle gritty folksy characters in their unvarnished country element (shades of later Last of the Summer Wine episodes)with the darkest of murderous delusions. Who cares if the homocide rate ranks right up there with Cabot Cove? When I go to gatherings, I'm asked to bring another Midsomer episode "for later." The characters are supurbly delicious and we dote on Detctive Barnaby's every wince and wink. Some of these treasures are truly mental gymnastic exercises within a maize of possibilities. A few you can do a few rewrite pages and come back for the finale. But I find you can never consume just one! And once per episode is never enough! |
