Thanks for giving the winterguard clinic on the 6th. I especially liked the movement portion of it. The whole thing was great, (That I went to) but especially the movement. I was only able to go to the first half, but I loved it anyways. |

Even though I have been so incredibly sore these last couple of days, I had a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to this seasons competitions. I am also looking into joining your team next year, and I am so glad that UEX was willing to donate our floor to us this year. I don't think that you know how much the seniors on this team appriciate what you guys are doing for us. It's been really hard to have put so much into this team and then find out that you have been doing it wrong for the past 4 years, but it has also been an amazing experience to learn from such talented people. I hope to come to another one of your practices sometime soon.

I have tried to contact you via your email but it just keeps getting bounced back so I am hoping that you will be back here to read my response to your post. I must admit that this season has been a head-scratcher for me. The product is so much better than it has ever been but the kids are not being rewarded in a way that I had hoped. However, part of this is because here in Utah we don't have any trained local judges. We have to get people to come in from out-of-state and many of them have years of experience in the sport but are not necessarily trained judges. Their job is a hard one and after sitting there looking at about 20 guards, I am sure they get tired and confused sometimes... and then they have all of their thoughts published for all to see - their mistakes too sometimes. So, we will continue to do the best that we can. We will continue to give our members the best training and show that we can. In return, if you ever get a chance to see us again - clap really loud and let us know you appreciate all of their hard work! They deserve it. |

Having marched all four years in California before going to the U, I am very familiar with guard and what is good.
