| Comments: | My daughter-in-law bought some old family pictures at a sale by the BlueBird Hotel or Motel in the Des Moines area about 10 years ago. She had them framed and on the wall of her home until recently when she got them down. There were the names of Selma and Edwin Drake on the back of a wedding photo. Also there is one of children named William and Robert. We did an online search and discovered Selma and Edwin's names on your genological website. My daughter-in-law has tried to reach you at your phone number, as she is concerned that these photos should find their way back to the original family. |

| Comments: | My Dad is 89 and told me how he and his cousin used to crawl into the long unused "2-holer" with long sticks and stick their heads up through and play "airplane".
But, our best preserved "privy" collectables are the books signed with a rendering of a "Chic Sale" by the author. Mr. Sale and family spent a few summers at Fairfield Beach, CT as did many New Yorkers. My grandfather was a builder and imparted knowledge of building to Mr. Sale who was "city folk". Apparently, my grandfather was quite a character who befriended many. My Dad's family dates back to 1639 in the area where I grew up. I enjoyed your web page and wish y'all well with your geneology research! |

| Comments: | I understand you have the Richard Cosgrove and Matilda Boyer Cosgrove's Family Bible? I am Richard Cosgrove's Great Grandson, Harry Cosgrove's Grandson Danny Glen Browand. Harry died in 1982 and his second wife Margaret Cosgrove, my Grandmother, just passed away yesterday May 1, 2009. She was 94. I have no information on his first wife Helina Shuman. Anyhow do you have any other information on this Cosgrove Family? and how did you aquire this Family Bible? | Comments: | Enjoyed your history. I went down memory lane after reading Arlene Schoonover's obit.& your history. You see my first name (Arlene)was given to me because of her. I was raised on a farm south of Dysart and my Aunt Leona Erick(sp)or was it Erickson(can't remember maiden names) lived in the now Overton Funeral Home prior to Wunder. My middle name is Leona from that Aunt. I remember playing in this home & walking uptown from their place. That was a big treat back in late 30's & 40's. I too am a retired nurse(76yrs old). Thanks for my forgotten dreams & memories.

| Comments: | It was very interesting reading the history of your church. I'm married to Nancy, youngest of three children to Rev. Edwin Meineker. Thought you should know that last Sunday, June 18/06, Edwin passed away.
At the time of his death he was living in Peoria, IL with his wife LaDonna. There will be a small service in Peoria and then his body is being transported to Council Bluffs. IA. where there is a family plot for him and his wife. The service will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ on Tuesday, June 27th at 2:00 pm. Ed is survived by his daughters, Joan, in Chicago, Nancy, in Thamesford, Ontario and Edwin Jr. who lives in Taiwan. All three will be at the service next week. If anyone remembers Ed, please say a little pray for him and then tell someone close to you that you love them. Ed would have wanted that. |
