| Comments: | When I listen to your music, Betty Elders, I lose the
cares of the day and am transported to an oasis where the winds blow freely, the birds are singing and all the seasons are soft. The night beckons with patient hand. The last, long rays are gone into satin blue. The trees are in silhouette. I sit alone and wait to share my day with one who has yet to return. Meanwhile, Betty Elders and an open heart that knows no bounds. |

| Comments: | Rarely have I found artists who I believe are truly singing
their soul, as I believe Betty does. I have come to believe that this is the essence of creativity -- expressing what we "know" in the spiritual/intuitive sense as honestly and authentically as we know how. I love Betty's music for these reasons. Her music and poetic images capture and caress soul movement in spite of the brittleness of our language. I for one would love to have a get-together of her die-hard fans and see if we can twist her arm to give us a let-it-all-hang loose private concert? Any other interest out there? |

wanted to say that I like the new look of your site--great photos of you, too! What prompted me to check in was Bill telling me that you selected one of his for your poem-of-the-week. That's really good of you to highlight the talents of others, especially folks as deserving as Bill and Mary. I have the honor of being asked to perform with them on a regular basis, and I have accepted. In fact, I'm sitting in with them tonight at the Hostel. Hope to see you there! Hugs, -=-=-=Eddie |

I first heard you play in one of my favorite places to go---Waterloo ice House in Austin-- and since then I have not been able to stop playing your CDs. Your album A Peaceful Existance has helped me get through some very dark and tough times in my life. The songs helped take me mentally out of situations. Thank you so much for your gift you give to all of us. --I've even got my husband to listen to you---and he enjoys lyrics which remind him of his home in North Carolina. Again thank you--- Jessica McKinney |

| Comments: | Thank you so much for responding to my email to Leon. I
didn't know he would forward it. I did find this page and I'll order the two CD's prior to Crayons. Maybe I could then request something to send to our local public station. Crayons is incredible but Crack in the Mirror is so powerful, it is hard to listen to even after multiple times. If I am brave enough, I'll enroll in next year's songwriting class at Kerrville. (I briefly met you at the mini-Kerrville a year ago at Dick Walker and Leon Peek's Camp Sweetness and Light. And was privileged enough to hear your performance at this year's big Kerrville.) It is a long drive from Oregon but it has been wonderfully worth it. |

| Comments: | Hello, again. Beautiful new site. Since Nov., based on
where I'm finding references to your work, I am exploring other artists. Lucinda Williams is the newest and since I am from Mobile Ala originally, and grew up around Glenville, NC (and all of the rivers there, being a paddler) I am noticing the particular power and connection I am experiencing with the lyrics, the stories of these wonderful Southern women. Emmylou Harris also picks up a lot of new (to me) artists and then I am off on another tangent. I think you both coincide on Lucinda. Thanks for your beautiful soul. |

| Comments: | Dear Betty,
I love your web site! It's arranged in such a way that I believe not only suits my taste/need, but is both informational in content as in visual aquity; appealing to the eye and to the mind. I must say, I'm thankful I had the opportunity to browse through both yours and Gene's sites, as I now realize who you two are in the music business. I'm sorry, but I hadn't realized the magnitude of your talents, and the scope of your impact on the music scene, as well as Gene's, when I had initially approached you that evening at church about possibly doing a number together sometime in the future; I hadn't considered two very important things: 1)Most importantly, what the Lord was doing in your life that led you to Dayspring, and how you conveyed to me so eloquently how you just desired the preaching/teaching of the word(much as I had desired when I first came to Dayspring), and 2)who you were in the music world. I'm truly honored to know you both. I hope we all have the opportunity to share more about each other as the Lord gives time. It would be a treasure to do so. God bless you dear sister. May His grace all sufficiet guide your feet upon His pathway clear. His by His grace alone, Michael Ormiston P.S. Thanks again for inviting me to your performance, I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!!! |

and the warmth of greetings echoing down the years from friends of yesterday. It is the deep sensing and savoring of messages of love and good will from friends of today. It is believing, too, in the goodness and beauty in this world, in the unquenchable spark of divinity that flickers eternally in the heart of mankind. It is glimpsing visions of a time when that spark shall flame up brave and pure and the promise of those heavenly voices high above the earth so long ago shall be fulfilled." | Comments: | I wonder if you remember a women named Lee Bogle? She dated Al Cofee before marrying my father. I would also like you to know that you provided the soundtrack for my childhood. My mother had Daddy's Coal on cassete and my brother and I loved to sing with you about the eagles wing when riding in the car. We wore that tape out when I was about 10 years old, but your songs have never stopped echoing in my head. Thank you for sharing your gift with me. Erin. |

| Comments: | dear betty,
i really like your web site. i'm staying a bachelorette (unmarried woman) forever, because it says in the bible that not everyone needs to get married, but it also says it's better not to marry at all. sign your name on this line: _______________________________________. one day, my dad accused me of listening to loud music through earphones, but i wasn't listening to loud music through earphones. i like country music. i'm wondering if you're a country singer. please write back to me. yours truly, candace. |

| Comments: | I saw Betty many years ago at the Colston Hall here in Bristol .UK. I think she was supporting Joan Baez but I can't be sure now. I love her composition ' Long Bed From Kenya' and am trying to get hold of her album from 1993 ' Peaceful Existence' I have the Joan Baez version of this song. I would dearly love to own all of Betty's albums., also I would love 'Long Bed From Kenya' to be featured on YouTube. Unfortunately Amazon UK doe not stock her albums, but I believe she has a new album coming out entitled ' Simple Things' so would like to be informed of when it is available. Love to Betty, you are an incredible song-writer/ singer. Love from England. |
