We send kitty prayers and hugs to Tim & the kitties. We only got to know Doris in the last 2 years or so, tho we have many mutual friends that have spoken with highest reguard of Doris. We spent many hours on her website before getting to know her personally. Then in about the last 1-2 years Miss Suzanna joined her club, and Suzanna had never been in a club or dressed up. Doris dressed my Princess very beautifully. It was so great for Suzanna since she was a special needs kitty to have something to do. On May 21, 2005 Miss Suzanna went to Rainbow Bridge, my beautiful princess and soulmate of 17 years. Doris was very kind to me then and sent me a very compassionate email. She ended it a very beautiful statement that I hold close when my own grief over my princess gets too much..... Doris said, "A bond like the one you and she have may be stretched, but will never be broken." Thank-you Doris for all you shared, & cared to all the kitties & their moms and dads on the net. I don't know if she realized how much she was loved and depended on for support, comfort, a smile, a kind word. And she was never too busy to share all of those things with her friends. She always looked beyond our short comings, our inconsistances and things to find the good in each of us. I remember so well her encouragement when we were in the Oscat contest, her kind words when we were troubled and needing a shoulder to lean on. I will never forget meeting her and spending time with her. It was a special time indeed and one I will treasure always. | Comments: | One of my fondest memories was when Pickles was writing to Bitsy for the first time, and Bitsy cautioned her that she might want to get Biggie to help her with her spelling, so of course Biggie instructed Pickles that indeed, she was spelling things incorrectly: It should be "Bitesy" and "Pikkuls". Poor "Bitesy" was the brunt of so many jokes around the infurnet but Doris was always right in on it with her usual wit and charm. She not only tolerated it, she often suggested plots and dialogue that included people trying to hide food from Bitsy, or Bitsy stealing food by slipping it into her reticule.
Doris was one of the first people I "met" on the infurnet, and I still think Sammye's kittyspeak is some of the funniest and most inspired. I still love seeing him say "kiteys" and seeing him mispell his own name. In fact, truth be told, I'm not sure if it's Sammy, Sammey, Sammye, or maybe even Claude! Doris's passing has left a big void on the kitty internet, that may never be filled. But don't you know the Rainbow Bridge is a much brighter, funnier place now. |
