I just got your info at the Rose City Classic in Portland, Jan. 21. I'm the trainer who just lost my 16 year old Basenji 2 weeks ago. I feel for the folks with the last message who lost a 16 year old Boston last year. We will not be ready for another four footed family member for probably a year but I want to be on your radar for future litters. We will be wanting a female, preferrably under 15 lbs, but under 20 OK, too. I'm not interested in conformation showing, but conformational and temperamental soundness is at the top of my list. |

| Comments: | I am glad for your information on what to ask Breeders. I also appreciate your emails on finding the right breeder. We are on a wait list to adopt a pup. My son knows we are getting a BT and he is patiently waiting (this is not normal for him, he is not a patient person). We look forward to the day we get a call letting us know someone has pups for us to see. All good things are worth waiting for, and I am waiting every so (very hard to do) patiently for the day when we bring home our new baby.

Lester is 12 years old and we were lucky enough to be related to the owners of his mother and they gave him to us for nothing because no one else wanted to spend any money on him because he was the runt of the litter and not sure if he would even make it. He did and he turned out to be the best one of the litter. I'm so sorry about the loss of Star. How sad for all of you. I cried when I read the Pet Store Story. In the beginning I researched all the breeds looking for a lovable companion and decided on the Boston Terrier. Sadly I was ignorant and thought I was buying a quality pup. I bought a beautiful baby just 7 weeks old and named her Panzi. She was just a dream come true until the vet found out she had three spinal deformaties and her tail bones weren't even connected to her little body. I told the doctor I didn't care I would love her anyway and just carry her everywhere and she said the pain Panzi would endure was too great and that if I really loved Panzi I would let her go. I have cried and cried and cried over Panzi. Such a tragic and sad story. I gave up on the puppy idea my heart was just to broken. I got in touch with Boston Terrier Rescue in my area and a wonderful lady Pat Clarke helped me find a little 4 year old girl that had been badly neglected and abused. She needed me and I sure needed her. Lucy is just a doll and finished third in obediance training class. At first I just spent hours rocking her in the rocker like I did my human children. I would swaddle her like a baby and rock her and talk to her. This really helped socialize her to humans and she still likes to be rocked. She is my little shadow. Your web pages were very inspiring and I appreciate the puppy buying information. I wish I read that two years ago. Keep up the great work you are doing of educating. Boston's are special but really only for those who want a two year old kid for the rest of their lives. My mother has one too and says it's great I can dress her, play with her, cuddle her like a baby but not face the teen years or worry who she dates and she never runs up my phone bill. | Comments: | Thanks for your comments on breeding my Libby. I have
researched all about the reasons for breeding my Boston. I have some family and friends that are wanting one of Libby's babies. Libby's dad came from a very long line of champions and her mother is from good stock. I have the history on her granddad's line and it is impressive. I have looked into all the reasons and fully understand them. I believe that I will only breed once (if I make it thru that!) unless more family wants pups. I couldn't bring myself to let just anyone own one of the pups. I have never bred a dog before and had heard all kinds of things about stud fees. I didn't know if they got the pick of the litter, money or what. Thanks for the info. Libby was from a litter of 4 females that were free whelped and she is 20# and shouldn't have a problem delivering. I also have the other AKC registered female, Sophie, but I had her spayed as she has a blue eye. That was my first pup and I hadn't researched the breed enough. After acquiring her, I went to the Boston breeder specialtly last August in Greeley, Colorado. I then purchased Libby from another breeder. I am in no hurry to have her have pups but am gathering all the information well in advance to make a very informed decision. Thanks for the info and the pictures of your adorable litter. Boston Terrier. His name is Stoudt's Blarney Stone. We call him Blarney. We got him for our one year anniversary. We absolutely love him. When Blarney was three we wanted to get him a playmate. We couldn't find another Boston Terrier so we got a male Pug. His name is Stoudt's Maximum Pleasure. We call him Max. He is now 2 years old. The two of them are the best of friends. They get along very well and we enjoy every minute of them. We don't have any children so as you can imagine Max and Blarney get the most of our attention and are very spoiled.
