| Comments: | Dear Mr. Powell,
I'm not sure if you remember me, but I was the technician that helped you at Redhawk Vision Center this past week. I wanted to let you know that your words and beautiful paintings on your website have caused me to want to bring my talent back into my life again. It was definitely a pleasure speaking with you and you made me remember how much art is a part of who I am. Thank you very much. I look forward to future meetings with you at Redhawk Vision Center and can hardly wait to see how your books and creativity add to my favorite past time! Sincerely, Jenni A. |

Discovering your instructional videos is very gratifying for me as I hope to settle in to learning instead of frustrating myself by 'painting' by the seat of my pants! Thanks for your dedication and your skill. I'll order as I'm able. |

| Comments: | Over the years, I have purchased many videos and books, watched numerous
art shows on tv and so forth. While many of them are good, they all seemed to be lacking one fundamental thing; detail. I would watch or read and think to myself, what did he just do? It's as if they keep the real details to themselves, a secret so to speak. In the end, to me, they end up being nothing more than watching someone else paint. I would ask myself, what did I really learn from this? The answer was disappointing and frustrating to say the least. Then one day I was going through my library and picked up my William Powell book on clouds I had purchased in the late eighties. I decided to look him up on line and low and behold there is a website. I decided to give his cloud video a try. After watching it, I began immediately budgeting in his other videos and purchasing them as I could afford them. I will tell you without a doubt, when you watch one of this mans videos, you will learn the what how and why's. He covers all the bases and does not hide the finer details that helps folks like me out! These videos are the next best thing to being in the same room with him. They are thorough, and very detail oriented and in depth. I have learned more in the last three months then I have my whole life for this style of painting! To me, these videos are priceless! I keep watching them over and over, and keep finding things I missed and this is also why these dvd's are great. You can keep watching until it all sinks in, and work at your leisure! I promise that people won't be disappointed when watching one of his videos, and will come away from it art smarter! No, this isn't an endorsement. I have never met William and I have never talked to him on the phone. I ran across him thanks to the wonderful world of technology! Thank you Bill! I am forever in your debt! You have no idea. I am a self taught acrylic painter and battle along. I love to admire other artists work. GREAT STUFF. I am battling with a glass window scene. Glass window with books and candle etc showing through. I cannot get the glass to look even remotely realistic. IS THERE AN EASY WAY THAT I SHOULD KNOW. PLEASE HELP, AS I AM READY TO THROW IN THE TOWEL. Wonderful paintings again. |

| Comments: | I just want to say thank you. I recently started to paint and color has always baffled me. Your book on Color Mixing Recipes is so wonderful to me. My fear of the white canvas halted me numerous times. But seeing how color relates to value and overall tone has taken that fear away and I can see so much clearer now. The glossary of recipes in the back are very sturdy in terms of seeing your subject on the pallet.
I can paint and I can hardly contain my excitement. I wish you every blessing. Gregory Becker |

I love painting ,its the only thing I like doing but could not get proper guidance .. i have become a regular visitor and faithful student of your's since I encountered your site, looking forward to many more dvds, books and tutorials thank you. |

Since graduating, have taught art in public schools and painting pictures over the years, but no selling too many. I painted a picture of Albert Einstein and neighbor children, sold to Student Union Permanent Collection at S.U.N.Y., Stony Brook, NY, about 1971. Oralee is studying portrait painting and she took one of your classes when she lived in CA. She raved about your colorwork. Did you really go to Marshall? Would like to know. Thanks. I live in East Tennessee now. |

| Comments: | I was specifically trying to find information on painting rocks.. i ordered your CD and am picking up my brush today to practice..something I have not done in a long time because I began painting.. (mainly putting colours on a canvas as a form of meditation .. a way to quiet the mind..). I then began taking art courses and found out that the more I learned, the less I seem to know and the more scared I became about approaching the canvas.
I realize I have to keep practicing... I began painting because I wanted to paint rocks and drift wood.. your CD is great and so are your lessons on line.. thank you for the inspiration |

| Comments: | Bill,
You are on my top 10 list of artists ! One time, you even answered one of my emails (thanks). I have purchased several of your books thru Foster (great). I have painted with oil for many years but have switched to acrylic in the past year. Your instruction using the knife has helped me a lot and I use it often now. In acrylic, it is a bit difficult for me to knife and/or blend because of the fast drying quality of acrylic. I am doing a series in acrylic (THE EVERGLADES PASSAGE) which is going well - I am on my 3rd of ten paintings. You can see them if you visit my website, which I hope you do ! Thank you for your art endeavors, Riley |
