Thank you so much for these pages, I have printed them off and will read them over again and again. I am related to this family as a long distance cousin. After receiving an email from Gene Stephenson, and Sue North I am sure. My ggrandfather was Philip Beaver Stephenson a grandson to Gilbert Jr & Docia Peyton. My great grandfather Philip was born in 1873 in Hamiliton Co. Indiana, His parents whom I do not have names for, were born in West Virgina, according to the 1910 census in the State of Washington. I then found him on the 1880 census of Wayne Co. West Virginia living with an uncle Mark A. and wife Vaginia in Union, Wayne Co. W.V. His sister Elmira and brother Everett were living with Jesse Stephenson who was single along with his mother. Dosha age 73. This is so exciting to me, as I have had such a difficult time locating this family. The name changes etc. My grandfather was Edward Gail Stevenson. I have photos of my great grandfather, his brother, also his sisters. There were three of them, two I don't know what the names are yet. Can you tell me who went to Indiana and who the father of Philip,Everett,Elmira and 2 sisters are. I find this so interesting, genealogy is a hobby for me. I work for the Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, Oregon as the director of Religious Education. I am married and have 3 daughters, Cindy who is in Milford, Ohio has twin girls 13, Missy who is in Columbia, So. Carolina has 3 children, aboy 12, two girls 10 and 4. My youngest is a stepdaugther and lives in Portland, Or. she is single and has a dog. My grandfather Edward Gail Stevenson, met my grandmother in Santa Ana, Ca. in 1923 they had 7 children. The eldest was Wilma also, was killed in an auto accident, Norma my mother is 75, but her memory is gone, Joyce who lived with my Great grandfather's brother's son, a first cousin to my grandfather, passed on with Cancer in 1998,she was the only one who knew anything about the Stephenson/Stevenson family. Then there are the twins, Illene & Arlene, Donald, and Gail. The rest are all living in Calif. except for my mother Norma, who is in a rest home here in Oregon close to me. My madien name was Nogues, and I was born and raised in Santa Maria, Ca. moving to Oregon in 1983 when I met my husband and got married.
