| Comments: | I am looking for information on Hodges. My grandfather was Wesley Hodges and his wife was Lelia DeLoach. Both were from Ga., I believe. They had a number of children, but only 2 survived: Dewey, born 1898; and my father, James, born 1900, both in Milan, Ga.
I believe my grandfather was a slave but any records were destroyed in a fire at the courthouse in Milan in the 1920's. This is the only information I have to go on as everyone is deceased. I do know that my grandfather died in Florida in 1948. If anyone has any information, I would be grateful. |

All I know is that she was born on Dec 31, around 1830 (month and day are correct, I believe, but year is an estimate), possibly in Tennessee, of parents from OH. She is listed as M.E. House, 50 yrs old on the 1880 US Census and living in Ogden, UT with her husband J, (Jarrett) House (born around 1828), born in Georgia, with his parents listed as being born in S.C.

| Comments: | My name is Daniel Anthony Hodges, born Nov 2, 1956 in a military hospital in the state of Washington, Ft. Lawton or Lawson Military Hospital. This installation does not exist anymore but it used to be in Seattle(King County). My parents are William Nathaniel OR Nathaniel William Hodges born in Alabama, and Charlotte Ann Hodges(maiden name-Renforth) born in Oregon. He was approximately 21 and she was approximately 23. He was in the Army, apparently and it seems that they were married. The kicker is that he was African-American and she was Caucasian. In the 50's, that was apparently not too cool....lol. Anyway, I ended up being raised by Willie Mae Marks, my momma, in Rochester, New York. I went by Daniel Anthony Hodges Marks(Marks having been typed in later in a different typeset)until I enlisted in the military and had to get an original birth certificate which I did. It seems there was never any adoption done and my momma used to tell me that my mother had "given" me to her. I didn't question it too much, but my momma has been deceased for a long time now. She died when I was 17. I have children now and I would like for them to know their actual ancestors and relatives. I think that I was a black market baby and that my real mother doesn't have a clue where I am or whether I even survived the birth. It was common back then to tell mothers that the baby didn't make it. If anybody has the remotest idea about my parents or if you're a relative, please contact me. Thank you very much. |

Hello I have working off and on on my father's side for about eight years now and still have a long way to go . Dad's name is Jesse Ora Hodge B dec25,1917 in Georgetown Ky,Dad had a half brother and one sister named Anna and she was born abt 1911. she was adopted by a widow with the last name of King shortly after grandmother had died. Anna married a man by the name I believe of Cecil Collins and had several children whom all still live Georgetown. Dad's Mother sometime in 1921 and supposed to be buried ona hillside over looking Georgetown. Dad and his dad moved to a farm just outside Cincinnati and lived there for several years before moving into Cincinnati. Grandfather remarried and they had a son named Paul. Paul was killed abt 1933 when he 10yo. Paul was ran over by a car while him and my dad were playing in the street. Dad Married Myrtle M Winters on July 5,1941 in Cincinnati and had twelve children, the oldest was a blue baby and did not survive. My mother died in July 1972 and Dad in June of 1988. Grand father died I think in 1949 and is buried somewhere in Cincinnati. My oldest sister died in March of 1997 and there are ten of us left. Granfathers name was Frank his father was Thomas. Up to my father Jesse there were three genreations born in and around Liberty Kentucky. At one time I had found a direct connection to shadrock Hodge but with me going through a divorce I have lost all my information and have to started over. Other name on my father's side is YOUNG. |

MOM FOUND A ADDRESS FOR DADS FAMILY AND DAD FOUND OUT AND HE BEAT HER UP FOR THIS. MOM SAID SHE THINKS THE ADDRESS WAS IN ST.CLAIR SHORE, MICH,OR IN DETROIT,MICH.MOM SAID WHEN THE ROITS WERE BAD IN DETROIT,MICH.AND DAD TOLD HER HE SHOULD SEE IF HIS FAMILY WERE OK. MY DAD USED TO JOKE ABOUT BEING RELATED TO A CAR LOT NAMED, HODGES FOR DODGES INDETROIT, MICH.I HEARD THERE WAS ON BYE THAT NAME BACK IN THE 50S AND 1960S. BACK IN THE 1950S DAD IN NORTH CAROLINA DAD HAD THIS LADY TRAVELING WITH HIM AND SHE HAD A CHILD,THIS CHILD DROWNED AND DAD WAS A SUPECT OF THE DROWNING. THIS LADIES NAME WAS SUPOSED TO BE CASSIE,CASSY OR CASEY. THIS LADY WENT WITH MOM AND DAD TO SPARTENBUGE OR GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA. I WAS BORN IN GREENVILLE,SC.
