| Comments: | I was a student of Dave Meadows in the early 90's. I still keep my hands sharp as possable. As far as I know Dave was a desciple of Duncan's. He lived with him for four years and not only learned Modified Wing Chun he learned Cantonese and Mandarin. Gorden is teaching here in Virginia Beach and there is a school here by some of Moy Yat's people. I want to find Dave Meadows and finish what I started. Modified is better than the original. And it is so hard to find a good Sifu. I liked the way he ran his classes and some of what Duncan showed him saved my life once. I thought that Wing Chun was a family style, So why all this fuss between schools and teachers. Personaly I just want to learn the rest of the style. Modified not Original!!!!!!! |

fiquei muito triste quando fui retornar meus treinamentos na nova academia do mestre li hon ki , e la encontrei o sifu marcio, conversandocom ele mostrei meu certificado e ele me disse que meu certificado era historia ,que eu tinha que fazer um estagio de imersao para ser aceito na linhagem de novo. ate ai tudo bem, o ruim e que ele me tratou como se eu fosse um iniciante, que se eu nao passasse nesse estagio de imersao nao teria a honra de treinar a linhagem duncan leung, ora nao tem nem 1 ano que parei de treinar , sera que mudou tanto assim para eu ter que comecar tudo de novo, afinal eu sou professor, e mostro tudo que aprendi com meu sifu e nao tenho vergonha de nada que aprendi e muito menos desconfianca da linhagen, tudo que quero e voltar a treinar normalmente, mas nao como iniciante |

Me myself have been interested in learning wing chun kung fu for quite some time now, but since beimg in the military I have found it very difficult to find a school in my area I live in savannah georgia, and I am stationed at hunter army airfield. I noticed on your website you offered instructor courses priced at a significant amount what is the reason for this not trying to be disrespectful I am just really curious because the way I was taught is that if a student studies in earnest and is really diligent in their study and practice they would progress pretty well my late shihan ron johnson of kumite ryu jujitsu had us pay nothing but we did do work for the different communities around town. What are your thoughts on video training truthfully? and do you feel that someone can truly learn in this manner. Another question would you really feel that the person that you train after one year would be effective enough to open their own school or is it just another way of doing business? My thoughts on this is very confusing because I truly love the martial arts and the way some people do business I feel is not very good. Many teachers out here in the savannah georgia area it seems as though they do not have the same motivation and love for the art as they once had , then you have those who are very secretive about their art but my feelings on that are that if the art is not spread to at least one or more individuals it will eventually die out . please send a reply back as soon as you can I would like to hear from you. My friend did not quite understand the principles that Master Heimberger was trying to elucidate. Because of my background as a private student of Yip Man, and my subsequent involvement in Wing Chun Kung Fu, he thought I might be able to throw some light on the subject. I ask the reader's indulgence for my attempt to explain what Yip Man taught me.
I loved your tapes! You're very good and a great teacher! It's nice to see a Real Master at work. I know Heimberger, he's not that good, but markets himself as some great master. I am going to reprint your photo of Yip Man (mine is too small and not very clear) and put it up instead. I remember when I first meet you in '84 at Virginia Beach. Brian Edwards had told us you had recently come back from your Buisness in Hong Kong and were back at the school. We used to come to the Virginia Beach school every Tuesday to supplement our training. You told me to hold my block higher in order to counter some Karate strikes. That did come into play later while defending myself in the military later on. I am out of the military now and am looking to continue my training agian with the Jing School in San Diego under Rene Ng and Pete Roberts. My name is Adrian Johnson. I train under Sifu Dr. Steven Faber ( Lee Gar Leung) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Our school is only about 45 minutes from yours. I have been training with sifu for 8 years. Some of our students may have visited your V.A beach school recently. I hope they were kind, courtious and respectfull. My sifu is a disciple of Lee Moy Shan. I would be honered to meet you or converse in some way. I was wondering if we could arrange friendly chi sao matches with your students? We greatly need practice of this kind! I here your students are good and I would love the opportunity to better my training with more expirienced practitioners. Our schools are so close it would be easy to travel. I only wish to better my understanding in wing chun and meet other practitioners. I currantly teach at Elizabeth City State University for the physical education dept.
