COMMENTS	Hey Darrin. I work at BPA and was contacted by Patty Busse. I am the one responsible for the annual lobby flag display in our federal building. We have it up from Flag Day through the July 4th holiday every year. I inherited this project from one of my coworkers who has retired. It is a much enjoyed event each year. I must admit I took it on reluctantly (because no one else would!) but have found much meaning in it. Last year's "showcase" flag was from the Civil War. I did much research on Gettysburg where this particular flag was flown at 3 major battlefields. I have learned so much from this project. Patty said that you would be willing to donate a flag flown over the Palace. I would very much like to showcase this flag in 2007. It would mean a lot to many of us. I would also like to showcase your unit and what you have accomplished over there. Pictures, stories, anything you could offer. Patty says you may be home by Christmas and I hope that is true. We display many historical flags and have handouts about them. I am even hoping that at next year's event that maybe one day you could come and talk to folks about what you and your unit have done at the "showcase". That would be awesome. From where do you hail? Somewhere here in Oregon I presume? I am originally from Chicago but have been here in Portland since 1992. All my best to you and all your fellow soldiers. We worship you all. Just last month he got promoted, and told me how great it would be if on his next promotion if Darrin and Keri could come down and he could give me my next rank.
