Mandatory Post #3
1.No, we believe that absolutely no issues were resolved in the peace conference. We would like to acknowledge the efforts made by the Canadians to hold a conference in hopes in finding peace. Unfortunately, nothing was resolved. We were quite disappointed that no other country besides the United States had any ideas in how Palestine and ourselves could achieve peace. The whole world is quite aware about the conflict between our two countries, thus we were hoping they would give us some constructive input in finding peace. Throughout the conference, Palestine and ourselves were in constant arguments and nothing was achieved. However, the Americans did present a peace plan. We found this plan to be too much like the Oslo Agreement. The Oslo Agreement was a failure; therefore, we believe a new style of peacemaking needs to be enforced. No more road maps! There needs to be a more efficient plan with not so many steps.
2.No, we do not believe that out country¡¦s issues have been sufficiently addressed. It seems as though the whole world except the United States is completely oblivious to the fact that on a daily basis we experience terrorist attacks against our innocent citizens. Our number one objective in Israel is the security of our civilians. We do not feel that many countries, in particular the Middle Eastern countries, realize our concerns and our reasons for building a wall around the West Bank. The only reason we built this wall was for the protection of our civilians and in hopes that terrorism will stop. Some countries make us to be the evil country in this conflict. All we have to say is for countries to do some more research and then make those assumptions.
3.No, we do not believe this statement to be true. The United Nations consists of most of the countries around the world, therefore is not westernized. The United Nations does not always take sides with the U.S. For example, the UN was strongly against the United States going into Iraq. At no point did the UN say it was ok for them to go in and attack the country. There is nothing really to agree on here, the United Nations is not westernized.
4.We would like to address everyone that what we posted were not reasons why Palestine should not become its own sovereign state. They were simply concerns we had if Palestine were to become a sovereign state. We thought that the comments that we made were key concerns that should be addressed. We must ask the question of whether Palestine would be able to survive if it were a sovereign state.
5.Our country believes that the best way to deal with Jerusalem is to make it a neutral state for both the Palestinians and Israeli¡¦s or to have the city sectioned off for Islam religious sections and Jewish religious sections. However, we are not certain if this would work. In addition, it was stated that Palestinians wanted East Jerusalem, maybe if we were to section off the city that would be the best may in solving this issue.
BONUS QUESTIONS
Israel„³ what are most Israeli¡¦s views on the conflict that is occurring? Do most Israeli¡¦s stand behind Ariel Sharon¡¦s government? ¡K or What do you think is the number one issue that needs to be addressed in regards to this conflict?
Palestine„³ What do you think is the number one issue that needs to be addressed in this conflict? Do you believe that under the new Palestinian leadership peace can be achieved?

1. Overall I don’t think much was accomplished at the peace conference except maybe the status of Jerusalem. But even that I don’t think was fully decided on.
2. No, I don’t think my countries issues have been addressed at all. There was never much attention paid to my country concerning its economic instability and things alike.
3. Yes I believe that the UN has somewhat of a western bias, as the United States is the current Hegemony. I feel this way because the world does not consist of a balance of power but more so whatever the U.S says.
4. I feel Israel is not being fair to the Palestinians. Israel should refugees back to their homes and continue on with life its not fair at all.
5. The best way to deal with Jerusalem is to split it east and west and assign each group respectively.

1) No. I don't believe we resolved anything, it just seemed like we were repeating ourselves too much and a lot of the major issues were not addressed. Yet again we feel like our voices were not heared.
2) Like we said earlier, not all of the major issues were brought up. People seemed to focus more on our "terrorist" acts, but they failed to address the fact that there are still millions of refugees out there and that there are Palestinians wrongfully imprisoned by Israelis.
3) The UN is very much Westernized and will do whatever pleases the US, even if it goes against what they're all about, which is promoting peace. A great example would be with the Palestine-Israel conflict. Where are they during this crisis and why aren't they helping out, could it be because they're hiding behind the US...YES!
4) First of all, when we get our state there would be a highway built from Gaza to the West Bank to allow our people to move freely. Secondly, when you say "obligated", do you mean towards the torture of our people and the destruction of our homes. Obligation is responsibility, and you have been nothing but irresponsible towards us for many years now. Thirdly, what economic ties?? Trust me we would rather be a sovereign state than be tied in any way to you.
5) We would rather have it all to ourselves, but since that's not gonna happen then it's better that it be in the hands of International care than in Israel's destructive hands.
*BONUS*
Palestine- Would you be willing to dismantle groups (FREEDOM FIGHTERS) such as HAMAS to further compromise in this conflict?
Israel- What was your true intentions towards building the wall? If it were truly for security reasons then you would have built it around the borders agreed apon. |

1)We don’t’ think any issue was resolved. We felt that it kept going back and forth
2)No, it hasn’t because the whole point of the peace conference was about the Israel and Palestine conflict, not about Iran.
3)Yes, Iran agrees with this 100%. Because the US finances most for the UN so of course the UN will favour them. Because if they didn’t, the US would probably pull money out of them.
4)Their comments are atrocious and they should do everyone a favour and get out of the Palestinian’s land.
5)The best way is to give Jerusalem to the Palestinians.
Bonus:
Palestine: Do you feel that the Israelis pulling out of the Gaza Strip is a step to peace?
Israel: Don’t you find that building a wall is inhumane?

1. We feel that the conflict was not adequately resolved, however we are well on our way. The agreed internationalization of Jerusalem is the first steppingstone on a path towards peace. Our next steps must be to end the construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, to stop Palestinian terrorist attacks and, finally, to create a Palestinian state.
2. In this simulation, it seemed everyone had more of a problem with us then we had on the international community. The United States stands in a good position right now and is content with the events and conclusions that took place. We hope we didn’t offend anyone too much and we’d like to thank you all for challenging us like you did because it only made us stronger and taught us more.
3.I, representing the United States agree that the UN is very Westernized but Id like to point out why. First, the UN was developed by our own President Roosevelt, second, the headquarters is located in the heart of our country and third because we provide the UN with more resources (ie. Money, soldiers, support) than any other country. Unfortunately, everyone sees this as a negative but there are two sides to everything; the United States influence on the International community could be beneficial to many of the member states as they are in lesser position economically, socially and politically.
4. We support Israel, however we do not agree with all that was said in their previous post. We believe that Palestine should have their own state and have advocated for this belief. A plan must be created that gives Palestine sovereignty so that both states can live harmoniously (with the assistance of the United Nations).
5. We feel that the best way to deal with Jerusalem is by internationalizing the city. This is best because it will allow all religions access to their holy cites. Also, the United Nations or a neutral task force can be put in place to ensure that the city is kept free of violence. Separating the city will only result in more aggression.
Bonus:
Palestine- Israel owns the land on which you live, why do you believe you have the right to oppose their suggestions for peace?
Israel- If Palestine remains under your control will there be an effort to reduce the human rights violations directed towards them?

1. No ,there were to many issues to begin with besides the Palestinian- Israeli conflict, we focused on those conflicts instead of the present conflict. The conferences did not only contribute to peace but it also magnified other issues and informed the rest of the global community. Many countries did try to find a resolution like the United States, however, the U.S was already involved in so many other conflicts that is was difficult to decide who would server as a peace keeper.
2. No, our countries issues were not properly addresses, the United States discussed how they were helping our people however, they did not discuss their true motives. We still do not know how our economy will prosper from the invasion. America says they are their to force peace and human rights upon our people. But, they have not addressed how long they intend to stay or how our country will become successful and prosperous in the global community.
3. We, do believe that the UN is westernized, since we did bring about that opinion. The UN will always stay westernized and side with the United States because the United States happens to one of the countries who a financing the UN the most, there for the UN itself is not westernized, but the United States builds the idea of westernization into the UN.
4. If Israel truly wants peace they only way for them to have peace is by allowing Palestine to form its own sovereign state. If Israel does not feel they should give Palestine their own states, then perhaps they should at least consider involving Palestine in not only the provincial government but also the federal government.
5. We think that Palestine should possess their own state as well as have representation in federal government.
Bonus:
Palestine: Aren’t you content with the housing that the Israelis have already set up for you when they invaded?
Israel: If Palestine not able to have its own state shouldn’t they at least have some representation in federal government?

1. Although many ideas were brought up, at the end of the peace conference, they did not solve any issues. The peace conference was, once again, a series of bantering between Palestine and Israel, with some input from America and the other states thrown in once in a while. But even those inputs were not voiced often, because Palestine and Israel were arguing so intensely, no one got much of a chance to cut in and say what they wanted to say!
2. Although China had some resolution ideas prepared, we did not get a chance at all to discuss them due to overwhelming opposition from the other states, even though America, the main party we have issues with, voiced that they had something to discuss too. The peace conference was centered solely on the conflict in the Middle East, which, although it makes sense as the conflict is the biggest concern in the world right now, could have been put on hold for other issues to be addressed and potentially solved.
3. We agree that the UN bends over to America, as was shown during the conflict in Rwanda and the war in Kuwait. During that conflict, Rwanda was caught up in massive internal turmoil causing bloodshed everywhere, yet the UN could only defend and not use force which was an ineffective way to protect the people and enforce peace (which it failed to do). This is probably due to the lack of US support on this issue in the UN, because had US taken more interest and used their massive powers of influence in the UN, Rwanda might have turned out differently. However during the war in Kuwait, force was allowed by the UN because it was a war involving America, and Americans needed to use force to gain any grounds in the war, which demonstrates how much power the Americans have to influence UN actions.
4. Israel brings up problems Palestine may have if they become an independent state, yet Israel is the one who gave the Palestinians the land that is separated like that. There is the idea that Palestine could be part of Israel, yet maintain sovereignty over its own states, as China proposed to Taiwan, but that seems highly unlikely considering the amount of tension among the two sides. China really likes the idea of a highway between the two Palestinian lands, but that calls for Israeli cooperation in enforcing and protecting the land by trying to deter the Israeli people from obstructing the highway, to show their support for a peaceful resolution to this conflict. Whether Israel will cooperate or not remains unclear.
5. It makes most sense for Jerusalem to be neutral grounds, because if it is a holy land, everyone should be deemed equal on it, and it wouldn’t make sense for blood to be spilled to taint the land. The best way for Jerusalem to be handled is to give it to UN control.
Bonus Questions:
To Palestine: At this point, what compromises are you willing to take, as you have turned down the offer for East Jerusalem to become your main capital? Has it turned into ‘take what you can get’ now, or are do you still want it all?
To Israel: With the building of the wall, you are showing you are willing to go to extreme extents to guarantee the safety of your people, but how far will you go? Will you eventually turn to nuclear forces to deter further harm to your people? |

Canada
1) The only issue that was resolved during the peace conference was that Jerusalem should be neutral and be governed and controlled by the U.N.
2) Canada's issue was what this whole simulation was about and that was resolving the Israel-Palesine conflict. So yes, we do feel that our issue has been addressed.
3) No, we do not agree because even though U.N. headquarters are in New York, they are mostly made up of European and Asian countries, thereby they are not very westernized. Also, they do not agree with the U.S. on every issue. For example: They did not side with the U.S. on the war in Iraq.
4) Canada disagrees with these comments and finds them to be contradictory. This is obvious when Israel says that "If they were given complete sovereignty, we would not feel obligated in any way." In their comments, they go on to talk about how it would be bad for the Palestinians economically if they had a sovereign state. Throughout this simulation, Israel has said that they are only concerned with their people and do not care about Palestinians. this is clear when they built the wall, which destroyed thousands of Palestinians' lives. We don't know how Israel expects to gain respect from the international community when they contradict their whole point of view.
5) The best way to deal with Jerusalem is to put it under U.N. control. That way, there will not be any fighting over whose land it is, as both countries have their own religious claim to the land.
Israel, will you ever offer any concessions that are meaningful and substantial in order to resolve this conflict?
Palestine, as you were rightfully conquered by Israel, do you expect to be able to ever get 100% of the land back that you had before?

1.Do you think that any issues were resolved in the peace conference?
-No I don’t think that anything was actually resolved because the countries kept going around in circles about their issues but nothing was being done to solve them.
-Although I do think that Israel and Palestine got a chance to address their concerns and voice their opinions as well as US suggested their peace plans.
2. Do you feel that your country's issues have been sufficiently addressed?
-I think that my country’s issues were addressed in the debate but not in the peace conference, it has mostly been based on Israel and Palestine.
-The peace conference was mainly to find a solution to the Israel Palestine conflict although I was hoping to solve the Kashmir conflict as well. Since Israel and Palestine didn’t find a solution, we never got to move on to other issue.s
3. The opinion came up that the UN is very westernized and will always side with the U.S. Do you agree with this? Why or why not?
- Yes I do agree with this because the UN and U.S are always pushing for other countries to have more westernized life styles (such as government and the way that the Middle East is run with concerns to human rights).
- I think that UN is suppose to be the peacekeepers and be the mediator in all of the issues so if they want to be involved they have to be fair.
- If the UN is involved with the distribution of land to the Palestinians they will favour Israelis since U.S and Israel are allies and this does not help peace. Both countries need to come together and figure out a reasonable compromise.
4. Israel recently posted reasons for why Palestine should not become its own sovereign state. What do you think of their comments?
- I think that they are right and Palestine shouldn’t be its own sovereign state because it will cause too much disruption over commuting from Gaza to the West Bank.
- As Israel said, If Palestine is sovereign it has nothing to do with Israel yet many Palestinians have jobs there. I think that they should have open borders so that they can go from Palestine to Israel for work.
- If Palestine isn’t a sovereign state I think they should at least get authority to govern over their territories and not be under Israeli power, the power should be distributed evenly.
5. What does your country think is the best way to deal with Jerusalem?
- I think that the best way to deal with Jerusalem would be to give the Palestinians East Jerusalem (as their capital) and make sure that there is a reasonable means of transportation to reach there. They do deserve the land and it’s important to many religions and should be open to everyone. I don’t think the UN should be involved with this because it may just cause more chaos.
BONUS:
1.) Palestine, why should you deserve a sovereign state? Do you think you will become sovereign in the future?
2.) Israel, What do you think of the construction of the wall? Is it helping or should it be demolished?

This is your final post, so make it good!!
Please answer the following questions.
1. Do you think that any issues were resolved in the peace conference?
2. Do you feel that your country's issues have been sufficiently addressed?
3. The opinion came up that the UN is very westernized and will always side with the U.S. Do you agree with this? Why or why not?
4. Israel recently posted reasons for why Palestine should not become it's own sovereign state. What do you think of their comments?
5. What does your country think is the best way to deal with Jerusalem?
Don't forget, answer your questions in short sentence form! Do NOT answer with just yes or no.
For bonus marks we need each country to post two questions, one for the Palestinian side and one for the Israeli side. Note that no questions may be repeated, or else they will not count. So read other country's responses and be creative!!
All of the above is due Thursday at 12:15pm NO LATER!
Good luck on the Midterm! |

We would just like to address the world on one very important issue.
We have the understanding that the Palestinians believe peace will be achieved if they are given their own Palestinian state. As the leaders of Israel, we would like to address several issues we have with the proposal of a Palestinian state. If we were to give Palestinians complete sovereignty in the regions of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank how are Palestinians going to move from one location to the other. If they were given complete sovereignty we would no longer feel obligated to Palestinians in any way. That means we would have control over the Palestinian highways that we built, which in fact cut through Israeli property. Another issue we would like to address is that by becoming a sovereign state you are cutting off all economic ties with Israel, which is not good considering over 400,000 Palestinians have jobs in Israel. We are calling on the world for suggestions to our issue! They would be greatly appreciated.

Iran will stand firm against U.S. "bullying" over its nuclear programme but will never use atomic technology to make bombs, the Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Friday.
"This nation is not a nation that would succumb to the impositions and bullying of the U.S. or any other."
"The U.S. politicians who claim Iran seeks nuclear weapons know very well that they are lying ... their purpose is to earn dominance."
Iran says it needs nuclear energy to meet booming demand and that its top religious leaders have prohibited it from ever using atomic weapons.
"In the nuclear energy field, our purpose has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, nor would this technology ever be diverted into (making) weapons," said Khamenei, who has the last word on all state matters.
"However the Iranian nation will not give up on this
Iran feels efforts to stop it advancing its nuclear programme are discriminatory.
"The Iranian nation does not accept that achieving nuclear science could be permitted for one country and prohibited for another on baseless grounds" Khamenei said.

Earthquake in South Asia: Canada's Response
Government of Canada's Response:
The Government of Canada has announced $20 million to help those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck South Asia on October 8, 2005. This is in addition to the initial $300,000 announced in the first 24 hours of the disaster.
In response to a request from the Government of Pakistan, 12 000 winterized blankets (21 tonnes) have been sent in two shipments by Canadian Forces Hercules aircrafts.
As part of the $20M, Canada is providing $5M to deploy 2 helicopters through the United Nations to support relief efforts and carry out assessments in remote areas or where infrastructure is badly damaged. The first helicopter arrived on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will also provide $700,000 in fuel and staff support for logistic coordination efforts.
The Government of Canada will also match all donations made by individual Canadians between Oct. 8-26 for earthquake relief to registered Canadian charities. This South Asia Fund will be used to support qualifying relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction projects from Canadian NGOs.
As you may or may not know, a few days ago Canada sent over its DART Team to set up water purification facilities as well as 200 soldiers to help in any way possible. Pakistan has the full support of Canadians and the Canadian Government.

MANDITORY POST #2
1. We believe the United States is complicating the issue further more because it seems that the US is generally helping Israel more. The US is providing Israel with weapons and financial resources; this then leads to complications on this issue, and at the same time providing financial aid to Palestine.
2. We believe that Palestine has given up more peaceful negotiations. This is because Palestine has been ready to negotiate at all times and Israel on the other hand does not want a peaceful negotiation.
3. We feel that North Korea does not pose a real threat to our country. Although Pakistan does not have an alliance with North Korea, it is neither an enemy. We do however do not want them testing nuclear weapons near Pakistan because of the safety precautions for our population.
4. We think that the wall built to separate Israeli and Palestinian people will not achieve peace, and in the future will not end terrorism. It creates more hatred towards Israelis from the Palestinians as they cannot do simple things like get to there jobs on the other side of the wall without going through tight security.
5. We believe that a peace plan can be created, and be successful in the Middle East. However, there are many things that we must consider in order to achieve lasting peace. First foremost are we going to create a secular democracy, are we going to create two countries, etc. We believe that the best way in achieving peace would be to create a secular democracy in the region. Everyone will therefore have equal representation, everyone can live side-to-side, and the secular democracy will have control over Jersuleam.

1) We believe that the United States is definitely complicating this conflict, simply because they aid in killing of innocent Palestinian by supplying Israel with funding for their military.
2) It is obvious that Palestine has given up more for a peaceful nation between Palestine and Israel. We have always had to negotiate under terms set by the Israeli government and now we are simply trying to make our voices heard. We've tried several times to reach an agreement but we were not able to go far due to Israel's unwillingness to co-operate.
3) North Korea does not pose a threat to us, because we possess nothing that would be of use to them.
4) Of course we as Palestinian feel a strong sense of frustration to the construction of the wall. It is inhumane, unjust, and it only oppresses the people of Palestine further. It also cripples the economy, the building of the wall destroys properties and lives of innocent Palestinian.
5) Yes we do believe that a suitable and reasonable peace plan can be created. Giving that both parties uphold there side of the agreement. We must give up something to gain something, indeed if we want to achieve peace. |

How dare you accuse us of international terrorism, where we have done nothing. The 1979 hostage situation was 26 years ago, and if you have forgotten, the hostages were return safely.
In addition, you say we are hindering peace in the Middle East while you're the one playing a significant part in the inability to make Israel and Palestine obtain peace. |

China |
|
1. Although it is undeniable that America is trying to do something about the situation between Israel and Palestine, their efforts and actions do not contribute to a peaceful resolution in this conflict. They have tried proposals, but most of them were not successful, and did little to further the peace process. The impacts of most of their peaceful actions were minimal as they did little to stop the terrorist attacks perpetrated against both sides. Supplying arms and funds to Israel seems to be the only action that has allowed the Middle East situation to progress, as the arms have allowed Israel to occupy more Palestinian land, and the funds helped create the largely disputed wall.
2. China believes Palestine has given up more, because they are the weaker side who are at more of a disadvantage due to their not having an outside source of funds and arms to supply them. They were forced to give up their land with the occupation of Israel, so they gave up the land regardless of whether they were willing or not.
3. North Korea is on good terms with China, and China tries to maintain a normal relationship with them because it eliminates China as a possible target. North Korea depends on China for many resources including food and fuel, so to endanger this good relationship with China wouldn’t make sense. Even though North Korea is our neighbor, China feels no immediate threat at the moment.
4. The wall between Israel and Palestine is unacceptable, as it sends many mixed messages to the world. It undeniably complicates the relationship between the two sides by separating Israelis and Palestinians, further widening the rift between the two groups, a rift that needs to be closed, not widened. Through the construction of the wall, Israelis may hope to avoid confrontation with the situation at hand by hiding from the reality of the tragic situation, but the Palestinians will not let that happen. Although it is statistically correct that there are now fewer terrorist attacks with the creation of the wall, it comes at the cost of further distrust between Israel and Palestine, and now the environment for peace talks between the leaders of both groups have become so unfavourable, conferences are useless because the leaders both refuse to talk to each other!
5. Plans can be created, but the main issue is, how successfully they can be carried out. America came up with the road map, and although it outlines some great ideas, carrying out actions based on those ideas are hard due to the tense feelings Israel and Palestine shares. The hate between the people are spawned through the parents passing their hateful ideas of the other side to their children, who grow up to inherit this hate. Begin with trying to teach the children cooperation and peace instead of hate and violence and the next generation of Palestinians and Israelis may become a generation of peace makers.

I am willing to negotiate over certain conditions regarding my nuclear program. So until you approach me with a proposition, manufacturing will continue.
So what exactly is you're idea of defence?
I recall a recent video where I witnessed palestinians defending themselves from Israeli intruders by throwing rocks at them. The Israelis then shot and killed many civilians, using your guns perhaps? I dont understand how you call that defending themselves. They were trespassing on palestinian territory that was designated to them by the Israelis. I just find that somewhat odd.
Your military support is causing people to die, and you justify it as defence? is that the best you can do? How about not giving them weapons? The Palestinians don't have very many weapons, they're throwing rocks for goodness sakes....weapons for defence, give me a break.
Call this ignorance, call it whatever you want but it doesn't make any sense

1. Is the U.S. assisting in peaceful negotiations between Israel and Palestine, or just complicating the issues? Explain.
We believe that the U.S has complicated the issues between Israel and Palestine to an extent. The United States provided Israel with an unfair advantage by supplying them with great amount of money, weapons as well as trained their military. In return of Palestinians throwing rocks, they were shot by bullets made in the U.S.
2. Who so far has given up more for peaceful negotiations, Israel or Palestine? Explain your choice.
We think that Israel has tried to give up more as they took their people out of the Gaza Strip. Palestine is not willing to settle for anything but getting what they want so they have not given anything up.
3. Do you feel that North Korea poses a real threat to your country, considering they are testing their nuclear weapons?
No we do not feel they are a threat to our country, we also have nuclear weapons as does Pakistan and we don’t think they would test their weapons on us.
4. What is your country's position on the wall built to separate Israeli and Palestinian people?
We think that it simply causes more problems, if the two cannot live together it makes it harder for co operation and negotiations. It’s also a trigger for terrorists because the wall cannot stop everyone and everything, people have been climbing over it, and it could be bombed as well. It isn’t a very good barrier nor is it useful.
5. Do you think a peace plan can be created, if so will it last, and what might it consist of?
A peace plan could definitely be created, but the task would be to agree with the terms and follow through with them. A good start to peace would be to completely stop the violence and terrorism. This plan would also have to include equal land shares, and independent governments in both countries.

China,
Rather than continuing this ridiculous argument I would like to end this entire conflict by making a proposal. You have emphasized the fact that we have provided Taiwan with arms that they will in turn use against China in their fight towards sovereignty. Although we have replied numerous times that we are simply trading with a nation who demands what we have, we propose to make the situation even and provide all of China with arms. This will keep us neutral in the China- Taiwan conflict while continuing to improve our economy through international trade. If you fail to agree to this proposal than we request that you cease your criticism of our relationship with Taiwan, as it is purely economic. We hope to be speaking to you in the future and look forward to following through with this plan.

1. We, the United States would like to start off by saying that in the past, we have contributed greatly to peacekeeping in the Middle East such as the Oslo agreement, Oslo II Accord, Declaration of Principles, Jordan-Israel Peace treaty, Interim Agreement and Israel-Palestine agreement and still today we are committed to achieving peace in the Middle East. We have indeed provided Israel with military funds, but this is purely for the use of defense, which they evidently need. We would gladly contribute funds to any peaceful measures that both sides agree to. We believe that by following the “road map” described below (#5) we will be able to reach overall peace in the Middle East.
2. In this situation, Israel has clearly given up more than Palestine. As many people are forgetting, the land in question is technically Israel’s and therefore they have little reason to compromise. They have already given up the Gaza strip which was not appreciated by Palestine and now they are expected to hand over more of their land to the people who are terrorizing their nation. There has been many casualties and billions of dollars spent on this conflict on Israelis part. We understand that Palestine’s demands have not been met which is why the violence has not ended, but it is crucial that they remember who’s territory they are in. We hope that at the upcoming Peace Conference held by Canada, both sides will be willing to listen to the other’s proposal and they will be able to come to a reasonable compromise that will leave both sides satisfied and safe.
3. Yes we feel that North Korea does pose a threat to the safety of our country, although we are sure North Korea wouldn’t possibly use violence against the biggest competitor/threat they have. We find it unfortunate that they have chosen to withdraw from the Non-Proliferation Treaty as it was put in place to protect the world as a whole from the unnecessary destruction the use of nuclear weapons would result in.
4. We recognize that the wall at times poses a problem for the cessation of Middle Eastern conflicts and is a hindrance to some Palestinians. For this reason we did not support its construction in the past. In fact, we reduced our loan guarantees to Israel due to the barrier. However, we now realize that Israeli governments are constructing this fence as a security measure as opposed to a political barrier. This is a temporary solution that the majority of Israeli people support. Although we do not entirely agree with the decision to construct the wall, we understand that it is simply a means to protect the citizens of Israel. From the statistics it is evident that the wall has reduced terrorist attacks, demonstrating that no price is too high for the lives of innocent civilians. The “Declaration of Principles” states that Israel will continue to provide security to its settlements until parties agree on a final status of territories. The security fence is a means to fulfill this agreement.
5. The clash between Palestine and Israel has been going on for far too long and must come to a peaceful end. We believe that there is a permanent solution to the conflict. The steps towards peace have been outlined in the “Road Map” presented by the United States and refined by the UN as well as other nations. The steps to success are as follows: Phase 1- Ending terror and violence, normalizing Palestinian life and building Palestinian institutions. In this stage, leaders work with the public to insure the cessation of violence. Phase 2- Transition. This step involves creating a Palestinian state with provisional borders and attributes of sovereignty. Phase 3- Permanent status agreement and end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This stage will take place at an international conference at which both parties will decide on a permanent arrangement ending the disagreement.

IRAQ,
Your ignorance astounds me. How can you say that we never look out for the weak? One of the primary reasons we are allies with Israel is due to sympathy for Jewish people following the Holocaust. We are constantly reaching out to nations in need. Simply look at the earthquake in Pakistan. Who was the first nation there with helicopters? The United States! Or maybe you’d like to take a look back in history. To name some examples in the Middle East alone, we’ve assisted Lebanon in 1958 and Kuwait in 1987. In the future please be more informed before you make wrongful accusations.

We are not the only nation voicing our concerns regarding your irresponsible nuclear program. You are endangering the entire global community. Your reactivation of the program was a direct violation of the "Agreed Framework" as well as the "Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty."
Also, I must say that I am appalled by your comments regarding our involvement in the peace process in the Middle East. We have contributed more to achieving peace than you can comprehend. We are the strongest nation in the world and will not tolerate your ignorant rants. As you will see in our second mandatory post, the military assistance we provide to Israel is for defense only and it is regulated. Moreover, we contribute to many other Middle Eastern states. You have no right to criticize us when we are most focused on the situation at hand. May I remind you that we were invited to this simulation to assist in the cessation of violence in Palestine and Israel? Stop burdening others with your defiance and lack of consideration for the world as a whole.

Israel--> Mandatory Post #2
1) We feel as though the United States is assisting in peaceful negotiations between Israel and Palestine. However, we are not certain if any progress has come out of these negotiations. They have not yet developed a peace plan or proposal for the Israel-Palestine conflict. In addition, we are concerned that the U.S. is not playing their roll effectively. They should be negotiating more with Israel. We believe that in order for this peace process to be a success the U.S. has to develop potential agreements and paths to peace that are accepted by both Israel and Palestine.
2) Palestine has given up for more peaceful negotiations. They are single-minded and even though they keep on demanding a Palestinian state, it does not seem like they want to obtain it in a peaceful matter. As leaders of Israel we are appalled by the fact that the Palestinian response to our withdrawal of Jewish settlements from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is pure violence. It almost seems when there is finally light at the end of the dark tunnel of peace, the Palestinians do something that makes the tunnel to peace, dark once again. Overall, we are willing to have peaceful negotiations if the violence against Israelis stops.
3) We do not believe that North Korea poses a real threat to our country, considering they are testing nuclear weapons. North Korea is not a very strong nation and if they were to use these weapons, countries like the United States would have the capabilities to destroy them in a second. Strategically it would be not be a very smart move. We feel that they do not pose a real threat to Israel, because If they were to attack us with a nuclear weapon the United States and other ally countries would attack North Korea and basically destroy them.
4) Our countries position on the wall that separates the Israel-Palestine people is quite clear. Since we are representing Israel, we support the wall 100%. We have read in previous posts from other countries that you feel we are unclear with our reasons for building this wall. Let us make it clear, since construction on the barrier began, attacks originating from the West Bank have dropped by 90%. The barrier is a temporary measure to protect Israelis until the country’s security can be guaranteed. Our number one priority is the protection of our civilians; we expect this to be the case in other countries as well. If you were put in the position of experiencing suicide bomb attacks on your civilians, on a daily basis may we add, we would hope that you would take necessary measures to deal with the problem. Which is exactly what we did.
5) We believe that it is essential that a peace plan be created. However, it will only last if the underlying problems of this conflict are identified and resolved. For example, the Oslo agreement was unsuccessful because there were too many stages on the road map to peace. It was only asking for trouble. The peace plan should consist of proposals that please both the Palestinians and the Israelis, but in an efficient matter. If this peace plan is going to occur over a long period, we believe that the matters on this issue will only increasingly get worse. The new peace proposal should address Israeli settlements, the future of Jerusalem, the crack down on terrorism and suicide bombings, and the shortage of water in the Middle East.

1) We do not feel that the United States is helping the situation between Isreal and Palestine,we do not understand how the Americans can keep giving weapons to the Isrealis. How is that going to bring peace between these struggleling nations? Its quite obvious that America always supports the nation or group which is in power, they never think about helping the weak. Which ever economy they assume will prosper from their help they are interested in rebuilding.
2) Palestine has already contributed their share of peace in this situation, however the Isrealis do not want to make any comprimises in this situation. Palestine has always had to nagotiate under Ireali terms, Its time Isreal does their share of comprimising.
3) We do not feel North Korea presents any threat to Iraq, we are allies and do share the same views in regards to peace keeping. Are country is already suffering in the hands of the US, how can we suffer any more?!
4) Our country thinks that the wall in which Isrealis have built is stupid, their is no way they will be able to block out all the Palestinians. It is a selfish excuse to not deal with their political problems. Instead they choose to hide behind their 60 m wall.
5) Obvioulsy a peace plan can be created, however it will be dependent upon both countries to follow the plan. This plan may not last due to growing political domination by Isreal. However this plan may have to consist of terrotorial division and will probably aid to help both states people. |

For America:
•B'nai B'rith International and the Center for Human Rights and Public Policy have a long history of advocacy on issues of importance to the Jewish people. Its leaders are quickly recognized in the halls of Congress and the organization's views are frequently sought out on a variety of topics.
Historically, B'nai B'rith has advanced a plethora of issues on Capitol Hill. The September 2000 explosion of daily terrorism in and around Israel and the horrific attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a year later, have provided a greater focus for the B'nai B'rith International agenda and lobbying effort.
Key Issues and Activities of B’nai B’rith:
•Maintaining ironclad relations between the United States Congress and Israel.
•Providing support to allies of the United States and Israel.
•Working to ensure that our support for civil liberties is in accord with the necessity for strong antiterrorism laws.
As an American member of the B’nai B’irth lobby group, I am concerned that the U.S. is not playing their role properly in the simulation. Israel is clearly your number one ally in the Israel-Palestine conflict. The lobby group B’nai B’irth would like to see more communication with the Israeli leaders.

If you are going to try to make an argument, at least find more recent evidence to support it. The statement that you found was from October 3, 20001, WHICH IS MORE THAN 4 YEARS AGO. You do the math. What you failed to address, is that the relationship between the U.S. and Israel has prospered and continued since that date. In addition, there has been a lot of controversy over whether that statement made by Ariel Sharon, was made in that context. The U.S. AND ISRAEL ARE VERY MUCH SO ALLIES. There is a reason that in the year 2004, Israel received $662 million dollars from the U.S. in economic aid. Not mentioning, the huge amounts of military aid the United States supplies Israel annually.

1. We believe that the United States is not at all helping the cause and are just creating more issues. I don’t exactly understand how they can just give Israel more and more weapons, it doesn’t seem like that would achieve any sort of piece.
2. Palestine has given up so much more then Israel. Israel even goes as far as to build a wall around Palestine’s designated area. The Palestinians, who have inhabited Israeli land for years, are now left with only a small part. They have given up their homes, jobs and lively hoods so far, what more does Israel want?
3. North Korea is no threat to us.
4. We are completely against the building of the wall for many reasons. We believe it will just cause more conflict then there already is, and when spoken to, Israelis can not solidly justify their reasoning. It’s a totally unnecessary act by Israel and there is no need for it.
5. No, we really don’t think a peace plan can ever be achieved simply because neither side is willing to compromise. Each side is performing unjust acts of terrorism and each side is defending themselves appropriately. There have also been numerous attempts at peace but nothing has ever come of it. Therefor we believe that peace can not be achieved unless both countries lighten up.

Iran, you clearly do not understand the Israel-Palestine conflict. Before you make comments against the Israelis, we suggest that you do some more research. There is also one other point that we would like to address from your previous post. You stated that, “Iran will do whatever it takes to protect it’s citizens.” In the past year, human rights conditions have significantly deteriorated in your country, where abuses include torture and ill-treatment in detention, including indefinite solitary confinement used routinely to punish dissidents. You are severely restricting the rights of people by enforcing such atrocious methods of detention. By doing this you are not protecting your citizens, instead you are withholding their rights. Not only that, (New York, February 24, 2005)--The Iranian government sentenced the prominent blogger Arash Cigarchi to 14 years in prison for expressing his opinions on the Internet and in the international press, marking a new low for freedom of expression in Iran. I would like to ask you how you are protecting your citizens if you do not even allow them fundamental rights, such as freedom of expression?

1)The Country of Iran thinks that the United States of America are just complicating things. Not only that they are providing Israel with arms but also they seem to also be really friendly with the Palestinians during our diplomacy meeting on Tuesday. The U.S always says the want “peace” however they always have a secret agenda and soon we will probably figure it out on what it is.
2)We find that the Palestinians are giving more peaceful negotiation. Because they keep proposing on what they want and what the Israelis should do. However the Israelis (as stubborn as they are) keep refusing to talk and it seems that they don’t want to achieve peace at all.
3)No, we feel that North Korea is not a threat because they have nothing against us and we have nothing against them. Our relationship is neutral.
4)The wall that the Israelis are building is ridiculous. This wall proves that they don’t even want to achieve peace. It degrades the Palestinians and demotes them from having a normal life.
5)No, we don’t think a peace plan can be created because the land belongs to the Palestinians not the Israelis. Like we said before in our other postings, the Israelis need to get out because IT’S NOT THEIR LAND.

Mandatory Post #2 - Canada
1) The US is not really assisting because even though they say that they want peace, they still give Israel weapons with which to arm themselves.
2) Palestine, in a sense, has given up more because even though they haven't actually said what they would be willing to give up, they are at least willing to talk. Israel on the other hand, refuses to even talk much less discuss anything with Palestine.
3) North Korea is not just a threat to Canada, but to all nations of this world. In terms of them testing their nuclear weapons, someone doesn't usually test something unless they want to see how it does because they have a plan for it. Not only is this very disturbing, but these weapons are also under control of an unstable and unbalanced dictator which just makes it worse.
4) Canada deems this wall unjust, unmoral, and in violation of several human rights statutes of the United Nations. In light of this, the wall needs to come down immediately in order for peaceful negotiations to be a success.
5) A peace plan can only be created if both Palestine and Israel agree to at least sit down and discuss this matter. In terms of what it will consist of is unclear, however, the divsion of land and the removal of the Israelian wall will be key matters in any agreement. Since Israel seems to be really concerned about terrorist attacks, part of the agreement might consist of both sides creating tougher laws on terrorism, as well as having UN peacekeepers come into both countries and help deal with these threats. In terms of this plan lasting, only time will tell, however, the key to it lasting will be for both countries to adhere to the plan that will hopefully be made. |

Israel and Palestine are at the center of the Middle East and their issues are directly related to global security and peace. Our military spending and nuclear program are for our own national security. The result of such high spending is poor living conditions, but at least we are all safe, and on the whole my country is safe.

As I said before, China knows what it's talking about. As I have mentioned before, China is the PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA. We are different from the REPUBLIC OF CHINA, or the ROC (AKA Taiwanese government). That means many things, among which include the fact that you're wrong about the PRC proposing the six assurances. YOU stated that ROC proposed the assurances to which the Americans agreed to, and that is correct. But that doesn't mean the People's Republic of China presented it! Of course Taiwan wouldn't want Americans as mediators, because as Americans, you pose the high risk of imposing your own ideas as to how Taiwan will make its decision, regardless of what Taiwan wants. As mediators, you are unreliable to the Taiwanese AND PRC, because if you look at how you're dealing with the situation in the middle east and your flip flopping support for Palestine and Israel by supporting Palestine while conspiring to withdraw your economic support for Israel, it hardly makes you seem like a desirable mediator.
Having a supply of military arms to use at one's disposal for an unset amount of time would hardly be a 'hinderance' to Taiwan.
Nowhere does it say that the PRC agreed to these assurances. In fact, it states that "3. The United States would not consult with China in advance before making decisions about U.S. arms sales to Taiwan." It wouldn't make an ounce of sense for the PRC to agree to this. Why would China agree to US arms sales to Taiwan when it is actively trying to end it?
As for Taiwan's threat to China, having Taiwan gain independance would cause a great blow to China's economy. Stephen Chen is the representative of ROC, and obviously, he would look out for Taiwan's best interest, hence his reminder to the US to uphold the assurances. We don't care if you're upholding the deal or not. In fact, we would rather you create new assurances with China to replace your assurances to the ROC.
By ending your military support to Taiwan, we hope to avoid violent conflict between China and Taiwan that would result in loss of lives. If you want peace, as you so strongly emphasize in your dealings with the situation in the middle east, severe all military supplies to Taiwan and let China deal with our own rogue province. |

PAKISTAN,
Where are you getting your facts from? Clearly it is not a very reliable resource, or is it that you are making your own assumptions? We know that Kashmir has been ongoing for decades, but at the moment it does NOT have high tensions. Over 20, 000 people are dead because of the earthquake and they are more concentrated on trying to save people. They are more focused on helping the nation rather than fighting over it. Things are only getting worse in Kashmir as it is getting cold for the winter and people do not have shelter.
Pakistan, you will need to get over your big ego. You cannot accept the fact that enemies can become friends in such situations. India has in fact crossed the line of control to help this devastation and now you feel embarrassed as quoted on an article from India Daily News (Oct 13, 2005) “Pakistan feels embarrassed in accepting the fact that Indian soldiers helped Pakistani counterparts in recovering from earthquake devastations”. So what is this “artificial peace” you’re talking about?
We know that other countries have volunteered to help you, and you did not want our help. Well look what happened, WE’RE HELPING! And your talk about your president not being there on diplomacy simply means that he is not showing that he cares for his people otherwise he would have been there to support you.
We hope that we can talk over our situations next week. It would be greatly appreciated if you left your ego’s at home and came with an attitude to resolve the matters. You need to stop bringing up the past, because it’s the PRESENT which is what matters at the moment! THINGS CHANGE and our relations can change for the better as well!
See you at our next meeting, and please…bring your ideas of peace, no one wants war!

China,
Once again you have proven your ignorance regarding the Six Assurances. I did as you suggested and visited both websites. Firstly, wikipedia still states that the Republic of China introduced the Six Assurances (in spite of whatever tempering you attempted). Furthermore your “more reliable resource” proved to have no government connection whatsoever. The layout and overall lack of legitimacy indicated that it was an unofficial site. (Note: government sites indicate that they are approved by the government, include a government logo, and most often contain “gov” as part of their address.)
You say that Taiwan proposed these agreements, yet why would they do such a thing? The assurances prohibit US involvement in the relations between Taiwan and China, something that would in fact be a hindrance to Taiwan. Moreover, it is irrelevant who initiated the assurances because all parties (including the ROC) agreed upon these points. If you had an issue with the agreement then you should have voiced your concerns before approving the assurances.
With this said, we are not looking to cause problems. We simply want to fulfill our agreements and remain out of your relations with Taiwan. “Stephen Chen, the ROC's representative to the US, said on Friday that the ROC's stance remains that the US should stick to its "six assurances" issued in 1982, in which the US vows not to play a mediation role across the Taiwan Strait.” As you can see, we are holding up our end of the deal. We understand that you feel threatened by Taiwan’s heightened defense, yet your nation is still superior to the island with regards to military power. They are not really a big threat to you. We hope that this disagreement will not influence our economical partnerships because as you stated it is important to both nations’ economies.

America
I am more than confident that our research is correct, and would like to point out to you to get YOUR facts straight. You should be well aware that Wikipedia is not the most reliable source for facts, because it can be edited by any random person surfing the web. If you will return to your source, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Assurances, you will find that it now clearly states that the assurances were provided by the Taiwanese government.
As more reliable evidence, it is stated in a released congressional research service report in the Library of Congress, by the US Department of State (found on http://www.fas.org/man/crs/96-246.htm) that ‘the Taiwan government presented the united states with six points’. Please ctrl+f and find this complete sentence in this official government document as proof of its verity.
China knows what it’s talking about.
However, our knowing the facts doesn't mean that we think America is to blame for everything. Allow me to make clear that China merely wants to further our diplomatic relationship by settling this, which shouldn’t really involve outside influences because it is a domestic affair between China and another region of China. We would appreciate if you would respect our request to leave Taiwanese affairs to China by severing your support for Taiwan with your contributions of arms.
To date, China and America have strong economic ties, which is a great benefit both our economies, for the US because it continues their economic leadership, and for China because it is helping us rise peacefully in the global community. Thus, it doesn’t make sense for America to jeopardize a good relationship with one of the rising powers in this world over affairs that are not even on an international level. Your replies have all been to defend the legitimacy of the American replies and to direct hostility towards the FACTS that China brings up.
So to reiterate once again, China requests that America stop supplying Taiwan with military equipment and arms. |

To the AMERICANS, you stated in one of your entries: "The arms that we provide to Taiwan are to be used strictly for defence" This thing going on with you and Taiwan is unexceptable because Taiwan is Chinas and them wanted to seek for independence is entirely out of your business. You should really mind your own bussiness rather than ours because we can deal with it WITHOUT using any from of weapons.
Nevertheless, this issue is the cause for even more conflicts between china and taiwan and us and china and in order to maintain china and us relationship, it would be appreciated if you just dont deal with this problem.
Quesions raise upon the Americans and the way they are chooosing to defend taiwan. In 2001 President Bush announced that the United States would do "whatever it takes" to defend Taiwan. But would America actually be willing to sacrifice lives, submarines, and ships just so that Taiwan could add a word in parentheses to its name?
or is there another purpose?. like maybe gaining power from taiwan. or taking china's "property"?

China is now informing you about our land in your no, our property. The Koguryo. Although, Koguryo is one of the 3 anicent korean kingdoms, we are claiming that the ancient korean kingdom belongs to chinese Dynasties. We have proven that

2. Coins were used in China were found in this grave."
This proves that that Koguryo was a part of China's mainland.
We have even noticed that the Chinese foreign Ministry eliminated Koguryo history from Korean's just recently, therefore, admitting that Koguryo is NOT apart of Korean history and should indicate that this be dealt asap.
We wish that we will be able to solve this situation without using any means of weapons. |

Is this your idea of peace? We are clearly prisoners in our own land.
Killing of 3 Palestinians
"3 Palestinians were shot and killed yesterday by Israeli forces as they crawled along the Gaza-Israel border wall. Israeli forces claimed that the men were carrying explosives, though news agency reports suggest that the men were unarmed. This latest violence has clouded the prospects for the much anticipated Sharon-Abbas summit, meant to be held tomorrow (Tuesday October 11th ). While it is as yet unclear what repercussions this latest incident will have on the prospects for peace, it is clear that such acts of violence cannot continue to be carried out with impunity by the Israeli forces. Not only do these latest killings intensify the suffering of all Palestinians, and further dehumanize them, they also retard hopes for peace and mutual recognition between the sides."

TO INDIA,
In regards to your post, Pakistan is well aware of the current state of the India Pakistan relations. Giving facts about the earthquake is pointless, we are fully aware of the condition of our nation. You might say that the two nations are at peace at the present moment, yet we do not view it in that sense COMPLETELY. The fact is that the Kashmir war was ongoing for almost 50 years. The situation still has high tensions. Troops on either side of the border are prepared for any possible situation if it is to arise. These tensions destroy the idea of peace, as it can only be viewed as a artificial peace.
Dont think that becuse the two countries SAY that they are in peace means that peace EXISTS. Pakistan HAS recieved help from many nations, the United States sent 8 helicopters, Japand helped out by sending first aid and as well as China. WE AT THE PRESENT MOMENT DO NOT FIND IT NECESSARY TO GET HELP FROM A COUNTRY THAT WE WERE AT WAR WITH FOR OVER 50 YEARS, esspecially when we are being offered help. On diplomacy you ignored these facts, possibly becuase the president was not present, Pakistan was bombarded with questions that we were not given adequate time to answer yet were interupted. Next time, let us try to talk out our issues peacefully without throwing facts around in every sentence.
AND THE FACTS WERE NOT MADE UP. I SUGGEST YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH. IF THE INDIA PAKISTAN RELATIONS WERE AS PERFECT AS YOU SAID, THEN WE WOULD HAVE WELCOMED INDIA'S HELP THE INSTANT THE EARTHQUAKE HIT. You guys do your research because YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES WHO ARE WRONG !!!!

My dear America, China was merely voicing its opinions on the issues going on in the world because we though people would appreciate another point of view on the issue. We have yet to take physical action to intervene in these affairs, so I would think that hardly constitute as China being hypocritical.
However, the Americans have intruded on our own affairs by siding with only Taiwan through the six assurances, which are NOT proposed by THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA. Of course Taiwan would be satisfied with the six points, because it was proposed by the GOVERNMENT OF TAIWAN, and supports TAIWAN in their pursuit for independence. Why was there no termination date for the sale of arms? Because Taiwan would obviously benefit greatly from a readily available source of arms to use at their disposal.
You cannot evade blame by saying you have no part in this, because your agreement and cooperation to the six assurances during the August 17 joint communiqué directly ties you into this affair by your agreeing to “NOT consult with CHINA in advance before making decisions about U.S. ARMS SALES TO TAIWAN,” and by your “NOT formally recogniz[ing] Chinese sovereignty over Taiwan.” These points in the assurances clearly state your position in this affair, the position being on the side of Taiwan.
And who said we blamed you for Taiwan wanting independence? In our conclusion, we clearly only requested that you leave these matters to be carried out by the Chinese Government by, which should be a reasonable enough request, because it is China’s internal affair. But by sticking your nose in this, you complicate matters which would otherwise have been easier dealt with between Taiwan and the Chinese government.
We request you refrain from throwing out further false blames, and once again reiterate our wish for all American involvement with Taiwan to cease. |

Here are some facts about Palestine and Israel that I think you should know. It is important to keep you informed about some of the things you may not know about, that way people will know the truth.
1)Did you know that there are 4.6 million Palestinian refugees in the world today, as a result of the 1948 and 1967 Israeli occupation of Palestine?
2)Did you know that Israel remains the only state that has legislated the use of torture? No country other than Israel has “legally” allowed the use of torture in its “security” procedures?
3)Did you know that the Palestinian political prisoners are subjected to egregious torture by the interrogators of the Israeli General Security Services (the Shin Bet). Torture is used routinely and systematically?
4)Did you know that UN Security Council Resolution 242 was adopted unanimously on November 22nd 1967 after the Arab-Israeli war in June 1967. It calls on Israel to withdraw its military forces to the boundaries prior to that war, thus, to return all Palestinian territories it occupied by force.
5)Did you know that the Israel’s National Insurance Institute’s implementation of the Governments policy seriously prejudices the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem and denies them basic rights including health insurance?

Perhaps the DPRK should note that implying sanctions isn't the same thing as APPLYING sanctions. Also should the United States be taking your statement as a declaration of war?
Also note that the DPRK does very little on the way of importing.
As for Israel Palestine, perhaps it is time to return to the offer Israel made after the six-day war. The Israelis offered to give the U.N. diplomatic status and immunities in the holy sights in Jerusalem. Then give the Muslim holy sights the status of diplomatic missions. The Israelis can keep all the sovereignty the want, they still can’t enter without permission from the Palestinians. The Palestinians will have the same custodial status over the Haram as the Saudis have over Mecca and Medina. Then put US peacekeepers in place since the UN peacekeepers in 67 were ineffective and allowed Egypt to attack Israel.
Perhaps the Iraqi minister should give some more thought to the way he conducts himself. After being democratically elected and through the new constitution, I find it despicable that he still acts like Saddam rules the region.
As far as straight relations, arming both sides doesn't make a peaceful end seem likely. Perhaps the USA would like to get its facts straight and realize that the Six Assurances were presented to the United States from the Taiwanese Government not from the PRC.
Perhaps the issue of Iran needs to be addressed in a sense that puts to the forefront the issue of nuclear non-proliferation, and not the sovereignty of Israel. |

We are going to ignore the previous statements below due to lack of knowledge that the Israeli government holds. Stop whining about Palestine being your own land because everyone in this simulation knows that it's rightfully ours, you saying so doesn't make it true.
It is clear to us that Israel is not interested in peace, no effort what so ever has been made to stop the violence in Palestine. All of our requests has been dismissed without even giving us the chance to negotiate.
October 11, 2005
The much anticipated summit between Prime Minister Sharon and President Abbas has been postponed for the second time in as many weeks due to Israel’s unwillingness to meet two modest Palestinian demands: the release of 20 Palestinian political prisoners who have served more than twenty years in prison, and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from four West Bank towns (including Bethlehem). While both Israeli and Palestinian spokesmen claimed today that the mood in the two camps remained optimistic, this latest intransigence on the part of Israel on such non-final-status issues does not bode well for the prospect of future talks on the much tougher issues (Jerusalem, refugees, borders, settlements) at hand.

My dear China, you preach about hypocrisy yet you yourself are guilty of it! Were you not just telling us to stay out of your countries affairs? Now, only minutes later, you are involving yourself in our relations with Iraq. O well, we are a forgiving nation and will thus overlook your ignorance.
With regards to the Taiwan situation we apologize for not addressing the issue sooner. We had assumed that since you introduced the Six Assurances you were content with the temporary resolution. However, we will review the points just to be sure that we are all clear on the agreements. In the Six Assurances it states that: the United States would not mediate between Taiwan and China, and that the United States would not alter its position about the sovereignty of Taiwan which was, that the question was one to be decided peacefully by the Chinese themselves, and would not pressure Taiwan to enter into negotiations with China. We have held to our agreement and stayed out of your relations with Taiwan.
Another point that you brought up was our sales of arms to Taiwan. The arms that we provide to Taiwan are to be used strictly for defence. If they are misused we, along with the UN, will intervene to cease any aggression. Your anger towards us is uncalledfor because in the Six Assurances you agreed that the United States did not need to set a date to terminate arms sales to Taiwan.
For future reference: do NOT blame the United States for matters within your nations simply because you are unable to control your own people.

Furthermore, with regards to the war in Iraq, we find it ironic that the Americans can see a 'bright' side to the war in Iraq, considering the number of civilian lives lost, and the deplorable state in which most of the nation is now in with the towns and cities destroyed by your weapons and troops. Yes, you did help create a new constitution, but we noticed that you failed to mention in your it, anything prohibiting the permanent stationing of foreign troops in Iraq or foreign control of the country's oil resources, and any curtailment of the wholesale privatization program enacted by the CPA during the occupation's first year.
At this point, Iraqi politicians, scholars and the public have ample resources to sort out issues related to women's rights and other disputatious issues in the coming years, as long as there's enough of a reduction of violence to enable a public atmosphere in which all citizens can claim a voice. |

Up to date, China has been sitting quietly observing the activities of the global community because we are too involved with our internal affairs regarding unity, which take priority over outside issues.
But a pressing issue needs to be acknowledge. We would like to address America on the issue in Taiwan, by stating that we would appreciate if you would keep their noses out of our business, even though judging from the reaction on Tuesday when this topic was brough up, you seem to be very indifferent due to the negligence in keeping informed on this topic.
You say you want peace, but how is this achieved by supplying Taiwan with arms that will allow them to violently retaliate against a beneficial union to a developing country of this world? Your hypocritical approaches to world issues, such as supporting peace in the middle east by storming Iraq on false pretenses, does nothing less than exasperate China.
As the strongest power in the world, we realize your desire to remain on top of everyone else, but by sticking your finger in every situation, even domestic affairs which should be left to the internal governments to control and handle, you complicate matters that could otherwise be easier solved by siding with one side and providing them with arms, or materials to build walls for that matter, with which to create violence.
As such, China would like all American involvement with Taiwan to cease, and help us by allowing China to deal this this issue. |

We are removing a source of violence and instability, and laying the foundation of peace for our children and our grandchildren. ... And as we pursue the terrorists, our military is helping to train Iraqi security forces so that they can defend their people and fight the enemy on their own."
I am sorry Iraq, but we are not going anywhere until we've resolved the issue of terrorism! Look on the bright side though... our influence on your nation has resulted in a new constitution. You will soon have a democratic constitution that honors women's rights, and the rights of minorities. This change is going to be a positive influence on the broader Middle East. |

It is quite hypocritical of you to say that we are selfish meanwhile you are the ones who want our land. I hate to break it to you but this is the country of Israel, this land is controlled under the Israeli government. Sure you can live amongst us, but you must realize that we have pulled out many Israelis in areas in the West Bank and more recently the Gaza Strip in order to please Palestinians. It seems like nothing is ever good enough for you. We offer you sections of land in order to achieve peace, and your response is let’s go suicide bomb and inflict violence on innocent civilians in Israel. In addition, you complain that the wall we built has restricted the freedoms of Palestinians. Maybe if you weren’t so violent we wouldn’t have to put up barriers that separate our territories. Our message to you is to stop dwelling on the past and focus more on the present. We must deal with today and stop dwelling on the past. You have a choice to stay, we are giving you that right, if this does not seem reasonable to you just leave! |

Just so Pakistan knows the facts...
India and Pakistan both claim Kashmir, which despite its Muslim majority was taken into India by its Maharaja after independence from Britain.
India and Pakistan have fought three wars since the subcontinent was partitioned, on gaining independence from Britain in 1947; two of these wars were over Kashmir, which is claimed by both sides (while some Kashmiris want independence).
ABOUT THE EARTHQUAKE...
And it is not clear what form Indian help would take. What the Pakistanis need above all is helicopters and the troops to go with them, but the idea of sending Indian troops to Pakistani Kashmir is almost unthinkable.
During the summer they signed an agreement laying down a series of measures to minimise the risk of conflict, including warning each other of nuclear tests and setting up a hotline between their foreign ministries. This hotline has been used in the present situation.
The upshot is likely to be at least a temporary easing of the security situation for India, though some attacks will no doubt continue.
In a gesture of friendship, India has offered to send troops to the Pakistani-run part of Kashmir to help with relief works. The foreign ministry in Islamabad agreed to accept Indian help, though not troops, and indicated its willingness to reciprocate, given how India too had suffered great devastation.
Information is from.. http://www.news.bbc.co.uk
and from the Economist Online - Oct. 12th , 2005
This is so in future relations, Pakistan knows the up to date facts. Just a pointer... get some research done!! Don't make up your own opinions because THEY ARE WRONG!!
India and Pakistan are having peaceful relations at the moment, they are not fighting. The earthquake is helping them come together and remain this way for the time being. No pressure is being put on the Kashmir situation.
Thank you! :)

Listen here Israel, let's take for granted the many lives of Palestinians civilians you have taken. You portray yourselves as a people who are innocent in this conflict, which in far from the truth. So do us a favour and save you petty comments for a rainy day and let's not stray too far from the issue that is of paramount importance and that is the return of the land that is RIGHTFULLY ours, AND GET MOVING. There is no doubt that you are a voracious, atrocious and unreasonable bunch of people, so put aside your immature behaviour and let the Palestinians move on with their lives, and this could all be over very soon.

We have great respect for the United States and it's efforts to solve the conflict between Palestine and Israel is greatly appreciated. |

How the heck are we gonna solve this problem if you guys insist on being selfish and greedy. How do you expect us to live under your control when we can't even breath the same air as you. Like we said before, we want our own state which means you have to be out of the picture, that is the only way we'll find peace. You're not looking for peace, you're just looking to keep us prisoners in our own land. Do you really believe that we're just going to say "ok fine we'll live under your rule", we'd rather die fighting than die as your slaves. I'm sure the US and the UN we'll back us up cause your being totally unreasonable, you don't even want to listen to what we have to say. But then again that's typical Israeli behaviuor, We didn't expect any better.
It is up to greater powers to help solve our conflict now because obviously we're not going anywhere with the Israeli government. |

Thank you Canada for your input, it will be kindly disregarded.
I just find it somewhat interesting how not one country (especially the United States) has even regarded the problems and issues my country is currently facing. According to Canada "everyone knows that you have nuclear weapons" so I'm assuming there is somewhat of a threat but yet nothing has been said.
Just let it be known that we have and will continue to test fire our missiles. Research and development will be continued.

The club was popular for weekend revellers
A Palestinian suicide bombing attack has killed four and injured about 30 outside a popular seafront night club in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, police report.
The attack is the first since Israeli and Palestinian leaders agreed earlier this month to end violence in pursuit of peace efforts.Israel's government said the blast had shown Palestinian attempts to prevent militant attacks had failed.

To Iran: We stand 100% behind the USA on this issue. Your treatment of humans is disgusting and torturous. It disobeys the international standards on human rights around the world. For a few years now, Canada has repeatedly noted your human rights violations and will continue to bring it to the attention of the United Nations in hopes it will be solved. Human rights is basic, and it is up to the leaders of all countries to ensure that the international standard is met. Do not go on about how the West is evil and does not do anything to help countries anywhere else in the world. If this continues, Canada, in conjunction with the United Nations, may be forced to take drastic action. |

To Canada, I appologize sincerely for not mentioning you in our first manditory post. We felt that you are such an obvious ally that it is needless to note our partnership. I am sorry that you felt we were excluding you in doing this. You are, and hopefully will remain, a key ally for the United States.
To Iran,
I am hugely dissappointed in your accusations of the United States and the Western world. Obviously our discussion about possible peace in the future meant nothing to you. You truly are the Axis of Evil and we certainly have not forgotten about the Hostage Crisis of 1979. You are in no position to be critisizing the West when you are guilty of human rights violations, international terrorism, and political intransigence (stubbornly refusing to compromise). In fact, the only thing you will succeed in doing in this simulation is hindering the peace process in the Middle East! |

Two things.
1) America, we have been long time partners, allies, and friends. How come, when you mentioned countries that you will work well with, you did not name Canada, even though you were citing countries that you had free trade agreements with? Does NAFTA not count to you anymore, or do you just consider Canada as more of a nusiance than an ally just because we have some different views and beliefs then you?
2) Canada is very disturbed with North Korea's testing of long range nuclear missiles. What is the purpose of this? Do not create more conflict in the world than what we have now. Also, everyone knows that you have nuclear weapons, there is no need to announce it. |

The only way we can accomplish peace is if the Palestinians can live freely in their own state whitout the Israeli government controlling us. You haven't done anything to solve the conflict between us, we're just prisoners in Gaza, you haven't given us anything. So for you to lie and say you've done your part for peace is insulting, this is just you're way of shutting us up and making the whole world think we're the bad guys, the terrorists, when in fact YOU are the terrorists.
We do want peace, we want our people to finally have a home. Our demands are simple and are not unreasonable, if they are not met there will be no peace. However we are willing to listen to what Israel has to say and are willing to meet their demands if it is possible. Maybe with the help of other countries(USA) we'll be able to find a solution to the ongoing war. |

Code name: Hegomony
Hey y'all,
Heres how we feel about the Israel vs. Palestine conflict.
1. Our primary objective is to obtain peace in the Middle East We also hope to maintain a strong presence in the Middle East and build good relations for trade.
2. We believe for peace to be achieved in both countries, compromises have to be made and everyone must have an open mind. Some suggestions we have on how to solve this problem are
1. Allocate the land that both countries want equally
2. Allow the United Nations to take ownership of the land where they will let all races and religions have an equal opportunity to live and work in
3. Try to share the land and co-operate by keeping an open mind
We understand that these measures may not be easy to carry out, but we do believe that the end result will be peace and tolerance. To help aid this process, the United Nations should intervene and play the non-bias role of the government until thing settle in and everybody is able to live together in peace. By bringing in a non prejudice mediator, it will ensure everybody gets a fair opportunity and peace can be kept. Also, in the event of conflict, they can act as intermediaries by punishing the instigators or by using arbitration to resolve the issue in a more passive manner.
3. We are assisting in attaining peace by providing aid to Israel in the form of economical, as well as military grants. For years we have been mediating peace talks between the feuding nations in an effort to terminate the conflict. In the past we have overseen such agreements as Oslo agreement, the Oslo II Accord, and the Declaration of Principles.
4. Our principal ally throughout the simulation will be Israel. This is largely due to the fact that we have maintained a strong bond with the nation since 1948 as well as the fact that we provide them with $3 billion annually. Additionally, they are key trade partners with the United States, participating in a Free Trade Area Agreement in which imports from Israel are duty-free. Other essential partners will include India and China due to trade. It is especially vital to uphold the relationship with India because the United States is India’s leader in exports as well as imports.
Nations that we will likely have difficulty with include Iraq, North Korea and Palestine. Since we are presently at war with Iraq there will doubtlessly be tension between us. Also, we may encounter problems with North Korea due to the conflicts we had when they reactivated their nuclear weapons program. The trade sanctions put in place by our government will also contribute to the hostility. We also may have issues with Palestine due to our support for Israel.
5. In order to achieve peace, Israel and Palestine will need to lose the predetermined beliefs about the enemy and work towards the over all goal of peace. They may need to make some sacrifices such as shared or divided land, but this is a small price to pay for a large reward. Since this feud has been going on for so long, it may be much more personal for some people than simply allocating land, but those strong feelings need to be put aside for peace to be met. It may be too much to ask of these people to live together, but they should all agree that it would be more beneficial for everyone if the war was ended by compromising. This way, the people do not need to interact if they choose not to and everyone can live feeling happier and safer. So, both countries may need to give some things up but in the end the benefits will surely outweigh the costs and their ancestors will thank them for finally bringing peace to their country.

MANDATORY POST #1
1.)
- our goal is to help solve the Israel/Palestine conflict as well as negotiate and come to a compromise about the Pakistan/India conflict about Kashmir
- Kashmir is just as hard of an issue to solve as the Israel/Palestine dispute
- religion adds complexity to both situations
- our objective is to rule Kashmir peacefully without any nuclear wars and to reduce cross border violence
- we would like to maintain the little peaceful terms we have with Pakistan
- we will also help rebuild Kashmir after the devastating earthquake that happened Saturday
2.)
- we believe that terrorism cannot be justified for any cause, and neither country should result to it
- we don’t think peace will be achieved until both sides get what they want, which is impossible unless one makes a sacrifice ending all arguments
- if both sides could compromise and live together, peace can be achieved – the land will not be Israel’s nor Palestine’s but something new and independent on its own
- if one side gets the land it may cause further war as the other side will want to fight for it
- both countries are on their way to peace but there are still many disagreements, peace will only be achieved if acts of violence and terrorism are reduced
3.)
- India doesn’t have a direct role in the Israel/Palestine dispute, we are against terrorism so we will keep up the war against it
- This means we will be helping Israel indirectly because they are also fighting terrorism against Palestine
4.)
- Palestine needs to get rid of the terrorist groups and form some sort of civil army
- Since Palestine now has the Gaza strip, they need to declare themselves as a sovereign state so they can have a proper government
- This way they can make proper decisions, without a government no one will listen to them
- Israel needs to start agreeing and coming to a compromise
5.)
- I think we will work well with U.S because they are one of our major trading partners and they help build our economy just as our technology is useful to them
- We will have difficulty with Pakistan as we are both have nuclear weapons and will have a hard time coming to peace with them over the Kashmir dispute
- We will need to negotiate and come to a compromise over this to be in complete peace with Pakistan

Questions:
1. Israel has a simple goal. We want Palestinians to stay in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. However, We want to be in charge of our nation and are not against talking about a peace plan as long as that plan does not entail Palestinians gaining more land. We feel that the Palestinians can stay in Israel as long as they are under the rule of the Israeli government.
2. Peace is going to be very hard to achieve, but we have already begun the construction of a wall, which divides the West Bank from Israel. We hope this wall results in less suicide bombings and a safer community for the people of Israel. In order to gain peace each region must stay on their side of the wall so there is less conflict. A third party may be needed in order to keep conversations civil when working out a plan.
3. Peace is not going to come to Israel and Palestine easily. We have already begun construction on a wall which runs around the West Bank in hopes less killings of Israelis occur. With this wall there have been less suicide bombers and a step closer to Peace.
4. This is a simple answer. Israel has done much to accommodate Palestinians. In order to achieve peace the Palestinians either need to get comfortable where they are living or they can feel free to move away.
5. The United States will be a major assistance to Israel. Palestine will be our biggest complication due to our history.

1)Our country’s goal is to be recognize as a powerful country and our objective is to help Palestine in whatever aid they need.
2)We believe that peace cannot be achieve until the Israelis leave the land that was rightfully the Palestinians
3)We will help by sending arms to the Palestinians and aid them if they need us.
4)Israel needs to give up the land because it does not belong to them in the first place. They have to get out!!!
5)We will work well with all Islamic states and China because they share the same views as us and they provide us with resources that we need. However we won’t be able to work well with the US because they labeled us as the “axis of evil” and we cannot work well with Israelis because they are occupying the land that rightfully belongs to our Muslims brothers. |

China |
|
1. China’s primary national goal is to become a strong, modernized, unified, and wealthy nation. The issues that requires most of our attention are our domestic concerns, particularly the need to maintain conditions of national unity and internal stability.
2. China would like to express concern over the continuing conflict between Israel and Palestine. We would like to call on both sides to refrain from violent actions that would lead to further deterioration, and ask for cooperation with the international community in the current peace efforts and continue to strive for resolutions through peace talks.
3. Our country supports a final solution of peace, so we will cooperate with requests from the UN that may help in reaching the goal.
4. Israel and Palestine need to cease all violent attacks against each other. We believe it will be most effective if Israel pulls out all its troops in Palestine to create a more favourable environment in which to resume peace talks.
5. As China, it is difficult to determine who we will work well with at this point, because we have encountered friction with many other countries participating in the simulation. However, we voice support mainly for the Palestinians in the middle eastern conflict, although we also would like peace for both Israel and Palestine. |

1) Due to the invasion our country is currently facing which started in 2003 by the Unites States of America. The people of Iraq are facing a high degree of hardship. We believe our one goal in this simulation if to establish some sort of order between our struggling nation and the United States. We would ideally hope to gain full control over our nation with little or no help from the United States. We also are willing to help in the peace keeping between Isreal and Palestine; however our sole concern at this point is the Unites States of America.
2) We do not believe there will be peace between Palestine and Isreal because theses rivaling nations have been in conflict for so many decades, that it is hard to see either nation become “friends”. This peace you speak of can only be achieved if either nation sacrifices one of their major powers.
3) At this point we feel it is hard for our country to contribute to this peace goal, our sole responsibility at this current time is to establish our own peace between the people of our nation. However, if the United Nation feels they do need our assistance we will be willing to provide our services.
4) In order for Isreal and Palestine to achieve peace we feel that the Palestinians are the most vulnerable, Isreal will need to give up it military power to decrease the dismal between these two countries. Once these two nations have diminished any dismal, then the UN will be able to take full control while the United States discontinues their involvement.
5) Iraq will be able to work well with Palestine, Iran and North Korea for we do have similar view points. Iraq will definitely not be able to work with the Unites States for there are invaded our country under |

1) The goal of Palestine is to establish a state in which the people of Palestine is given all control. This includes our own military regime without the interference of the Israeli government. And lastly our main goal is to achieve peace amongst the Palestinian and Israeli people.
2) Ultimately peace can be achieved through thorough negotiations in which both political leaders of both countries are willing to conciliate and combine forces to reach appropriate peace agreements.
3) Palestine will do everything in it's power to avoid violence in anyway. There is not a grain out doubt that Palestine wants peace, however if we must fight to achieve that goal then we will. But nevertheless we want our people to live in peace and to stop the massive killing of innocent civilians.
4)Israel and Palestine must be willing put aside the conflict and give equal share to the land as Palestinians have as much right to the land as Israeli's.
5) Palestine will no doubt maintain good relations with other muslim nations including Iraq and Pakistan. Palestine will encounter conflict with Israel if suitable conditions are not met in terms of the distribution of land.

Manditory Post #1 : Democratic People's Republic of Korea
1. The goals of North Korea in this simulation are very straightforward. We plan to take whatever action necessary to benefit the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Ideally, we wish to restructure the economy and improve the social living conditions of our citizens, while at the same time maintaining our focus on military research without altering its budget.
2. Peace in Israel and Palestine can only be achieved through intensive peace talks under cease-fire, which, is a rare opportunity. Alternatively, limited warfare must be employed. The two countries are at the center of the Middle East and their issues are directly related to global security and peace. Israel is currently ranked as the number one threat to world peace and we, North Korea partially justify our nuclear programs as a form of national security. But at the same time we are willing to use or provide nuclear arms if it’s proven to be beneficial to our country.
3. We will not directly contribute to peace in Israel and Palestine. North Korea, will instead, continue to research, study and work on our nuclear programs at all facilities located in the country with out any monitoring seals, or restrictive agreements.
4. For starters, both Israel and Palestine must be willing to compromise over land separation, resource division and overall must learn to live with one another. That includes respecting each others religious rights and needs as well as their individual lifestyles. This will require forms of mediation and some sort of non-aggression agreement. It will be difficult to achieve.
5. North Korea will not work very well with any countries in the simulation. But Iraq and Iran do hold somewhat similar viewpoints, so it is a possibility that we may work well together. North Korea will not work well with the United States, as the United States is the current world power and is somewhat “responsible” for controlling world peace. With the ever growing “threat” of North Korea, the U.S.A is bound to step in and ensure safety because it A: Has the power to, and B: Has the resources to support it.

1) Our goal for this simulation is for Israel and Palestine to stop all of the fighting and to achieve peace.
2) The only way that peace can be achieved is for Israel and Palestine to call a cease fire and put an end to the physical conflict. Only then can they begin to negotiate in a peaceful manner.
3) We will, in conjunction with the United Nations, send in peacekeepers if neccessary. We will also be willing to act as mediators in discussions with both Israel and Palestine on an individual basis, and a group one.
4) Both countries will each need to give up a little bit of land to the other. When it comes to land that has a religious value to both countries, that land should either be divided up equally, or if possible, put the land under U.N. rule, thereby allowing both Israelies and Palestinians to have equal access to the sacred land. Secondly, Israel will need to tear down the great wall that they are building. Israel will not need the wall anymore because thirdly, both countries will need to put strict laws in place in dealing with terrorists, and they should round up and deal harshly with the leaders of the terrorist groups.
5) Canada hopes to, and will strive for, working well with all contries. However, we will probably be able to work a little bit better with the United States because we have a good relationship with them, and India because they have the world's largest democracy. Some countries that we may not be able to work with all that well are Iran because they feel that everyone who is against their revolution must be unjustly murdered and that goes against everything that Canada stands for, and the other country that we may not be able to work well with is China, only because we have opposite beliefs since they are a communist country and we are a democratic/capitalist one. |

Here are the questions for the mandatory posting, which will be due on Monday, October 10, 2005 at 10:00pm. Remember you are being marked on the mandatory postings. If you do not post your answers by the deadline you will receive a mark of zero on it. Also, try to keep your answers somewhat short and to the point (ie. no novel writing).
Questions:
1. What are your country's goals and objectives for the simulation?
2. How do you believe peace can be achieved in Israel and Palestine?
3. How will your country contribute to the goal of peace?
4. What do you think Israel and Palestine might need to give up in order to achieve peace?
5. What countries do you think you will work well with in the simulation? What countries do you think you'll have difficulties with? Why?
That is all for now. Good luck! Don't forget to dress up on Tuesday!

We just want to say that although we will respect the controllers' wishes, we are a little surprised and disappointed at the fact that we have been unjustly banned from posting our communiqués in both of our official languages. In Canada, that is part of our citizens' rights and freedoms under both the Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. However, that being said, we just want to reiterate what we said before and that was that we will not post any more of our messages in both official languages, only English. |

This is a notice to all countries. This coming Tuesday is Diplomacy, and you are required to dress up. If you do not participate in dressing up, forget, or think its "not cool", there will be consequences. You will have to summarize, in front of the class, the entire Isreal-Palestine situation in your own words AND there will be marks deducted.
We also want to let countries know that all postings must be done in english ONLY. (Canada note that one of Isreal's languages is Hebrew and they do not post in Hebrew, follow them!)
That is all.
DRESS UP!

We are now informing our fellow countries that there has been a change in our political system, the people of Palestine voted in favour that Oleveia Milne will be representing the leader of Hammas, a militant group of fighters for Palestine.
"The Palestinian vision of peace is an independent and viable Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967, living as an equal neighbor alongside Israel with peace and security for both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples."
