Every time I get into a fan fiction series like this, it seems to be well after the things have stopped. Hopefully, although episodes are much slower in coming out, they have not stopped completely. I look forward to whatever more these wonderful series produces.

Comments:I decided to rewatch all my DS9 DVD's, and it made me think of what kind of fan fiction might be out there. I found this wonderful site (Bashir was always my favorite) with the wonderful continuation stories. Usually I discover these things well after writers have ceased to add, so I was very happy to see that the most recent episode was published this year. I can see that things have slowed down, but at least I have hope that new stories will be posted. I will most certainly be checking for more. I enjoyed these so much more than the recent books. I have to admit, after they had Ezri dump Julian I ceased to read any of the DS9 books. Too much about fan boy fantasies, than fan girls!! I love the inclusion of the Bashir/Garak friendship, as a well as mention of the O'Brien's. Even Vic and Kukalaka are not forgotten. Please, keep up the great work for those of us out there who love to read, but have no talent for writing. Deanna

I know what I'd love to say about how soon the next episode will start appearing, but I'd hate to have something go wrong and have you wondering what happened.

But for an update, we have the next scheduled episode, "Decisive Moments," in the final editing stage. The second draft of the following episode, "The Hidden Orb," is waiting it's turn. And after that comes "Between Victory and Death," which is about half written.

Beyond that, well, I'd rather not say, but there's more plotting going on! *Grin*

Comments:Welcome and thank you to our new and returning readers! We're always glad to see that we've entertained you and kept the DS9 universe going, in some small way.

Episode 13 is now posted; hope you enjoy picking up what's happening on the station and on Bajor.

Then it'll be back to Cardassia where, believe it or not, we will actually be wrapping up the story arc shortly! But that won't be the last we see of Garak, we promise.

There's more in store for our favorite Ferengi family too. Upstart Grand Nagus Grak certainly isn't going to let Rom get away with continuing to call himself the Grand Nagus, and you know Quark can't stay out of that, as much as he'd like to.

And then there's Ezri, and Endar, and Emyn, and other characters whose names don't start with E, who have tales to tell and stories to spin. *Grin*

We hope to keep the stories going, and to see you keep reading! Thanks again.

Anyway, ep. 11, very well written, and well told. I like that Jake was able to find in himself a little more of what he thought he lost so long ago. I'm getteing a little confused with Garak and Rekel though. Again in true DS9 fashion. The Cardasians keep us guessing. Have to jet, can't wait to read on. This one was good, but then so is the whole thing. Done any work with Quark lately?

OMGTEHSQUEE!!!!!111oneone!! THIS IS SOOOOO TOTALLY AWESOME! *tackleglomp* YOU GUYS RULE!

I love the way you've portrayed Ezri--she has some really meaty counselling work in here, which the character deserves. I wish there was a little more of her and Bashir--what there is is adorable, I just think there should be more. Of course, I'm only on Episode Four, so I haven't seen it all yet.

Regarding Endar Alden--he's just weird. But that's good! Conventional characters aren't much fun. I was going to say, however, that a number of the things you described as his symptoms make him sound like he has a psychological disorder called DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), or multiple personalities. He has large chunks of memory missing from his past; he goes through rapid, unpredictable personality changes; he displays childlike qualities and has tantrums; he seems to completely forget things very easily; he's afraid of doctors; and he has disturbing hallucinations. Also, in Episode Two, he was having a hallucination of a young blonde man; and the man was calling himself 'we' and 'us'. I'm not a psychologist (yet), but from what I've read, this struck me as stunningly coincidental. And it makes sense that Ezri wouldn't understand it, because most normal counsellors and psychiatrists have never heard of DID, or at least have never seen a case and therefore don't know how to recognise it. It's extremely rare.

Er, anyway. Just my two cents. And, like I said, I've only read up to the fourth episode, so I might have no idea what I'm talking about.

I loveloveLOVE Jake, especially when he pretended to be with the rebellion and instead was working for the Captain all along. Go Jake! :D *snuggles him*

And I would say more, but I'm tired at the moment and have an absolutely un-ignorable urge to go READ MORE NOW OMG! So excuse me. *bows*
Your favorite WYCBT character: Ezri, Nog, Jake, Bashir, and Vic, in that order. The rest of them are great, too, of course.

Comments:Welcome back, Joe!

Glad you liked Ep 10, for the most part.

Quark. Hmm. He's certainly not intended to become a sissy. He's having some issues with some of the new crew who he's not sure how to deal with yet because he hasn't got a "handle" on them completely, but.... We'll have to keep that in mind and take a second look at where he's going -- thanks for pointing it out.

We will see more of the interrelationship between Cardassia, Bajor, and the Prophets, I promise you that. :)

So, we can't draft you to write, eh? Darn! I guess we'll just have to keep you reading, then.

Comments:Episode 10. Very Good. I like the epilouge. The similarities of the Cardasian "Paldor" festival and the Bajorin Peldar festival are very interesting. As I continue to watch the rest of the series, and read your stories now, it would seem that Bajor/The Prophets were responsible for many things across the very wide galaxy. Many things/people born from thier history or existance. Perhaps proof that we are all more closly related than we might think. Just a thought, but it makes one wonder.

I think Quark is being turned into a sissy. He was always submissive, but through the series his charecter developed a backbone of sorts and he became a "man" of conviction and substance. I don't think he would give in so easily without a snide comment or glare of some sort. I mean he was no idiot, he new when to get out of the way of trouble. he just seemed to be a little bolder than he is being portrayed here. Maybe it's just me, but I think he needs a little more attitude.

Glad to be reading new episodes after so long. I know you are all busy with "real life". I was thinking though, a season was about 20-26 episodes long. This was just # 10. So don't plan on going anywhere, we have a long way to go. :-)

Sharon, you know how I feel about this site and all that contribute. I thank you again for keeping it going. I would not presume to think it will go on forever, but I'll take what you have as long as you are willing to give it. And if possible, if requested, will do what I can to keep it going too. Just don't ask me to write. I spell like a 3 year old some times. Ha-Ha

Comments:Well, I have finished "Episode 9" and I feel just like I did when the series ended. I suddenly miss these people all over again. (crazy?) I have to agree with some of the other previous feedback. There are some thing that are said, some diolouge that is alittle out of place. Other than that however, I feel you have captured the essence of "What was left behind" and given us all a remarkable story to "come back to". I hope you will continue to offer this "series" to the rest of us who share so deeply your desire to see it flourish. I know it has been about 2 years since the last story was released and understand your plight of available time and co-authors, but I can't wait for the next installment. I was very pleased to find responses to feedback, letting us know you are still there and working as you can. I have noticed that other people saying they are "printing" these stories to read. Not sure on the legalities of this, but I would like to do the same. I would also like to know if you have any cover sheets or printed outer covers to bind with each episod, like the ones you presented to Sid. Like my DVD's, I would like to keep and preserve your stories. Sound weird? Anyway this is good stuff and with each episode it's getting better. Please keep up the good work.

Comments:Wow. Good work, people. So far, I've read the first three stories, and I tip my hat to you - this is great stuff. You've really managed to capture the feel of the series, and even expand upon it. The descriptions of the post-war shock, these big plotlines you seem to be starting off, all the new characters you're adding... This is definitely how the series is supposed to look. :)

I see it's been a while since the last new story - I hope the site is still fully active, and that WYCBT will keep on coming for a long, long time.

Good work, and thank you!
Your favorite WYCBT character: Bashir has been portrayed best (probably because he gets all the screen time...) and of the new characters, I'm really fond of Kaoron for some reason...

Comments:Hey,

Been hectic at work so only got to finish episode one on the tube a few moments ago! So comments and feedback...here goes:

My first impression is that I like it, mainly because it’s great to be back in the Deep Space Nine universe again. After one of my favourite shows finished, and in such an open-ended manner, I often found myself day-dreaming about whatever happened to these imaginary characters I let enter my life for seven years. So much so that I went about developing my own Season eight, subtitled 'Aftermath' that is still in development hell (although I'm at ep. 11 at this stage so nearly there, like how many years later!!!). So it was good to be back in the familiar and reading about the continuing lives of Kira, Ezri, Jake et al. But after finishing episode one I have a few points to make...both praise and criticism (but only constructive because, as a fellow writer, no other type of criticism ever helps now does it!!!).

* The writing beautifully captured Kasidy and the younger Sisko's loss and I loved the idea of the house in Kendra valley.
*Ezri and Julian are cute together and it’s conveyed well.
*I can see Quark is his usual self, always something to complain about...I knew Odo's absence wouldn't change him...he'll always bitch about something!
*At first wasn't too sure about Kira’s characterisation, seemed abit too vulnerable almost over-emotional but realise that, after all the existing crew have been through over the past few years, things still hurt. I like the bonding talks and the 'We-will-survive' vibe I'm getting from chats between Ezri and Kira and Kira and Bashir. It’s as if they are aware of the change in their lives but these people are bound by a common history and therefore their friendships are deeper than ever.
*Alden...er, no thanks. I realise he may have a 'dark secret' TM but his actions were just too unrealistic...as was Ross’ casual dismissal of the incident (and the cliched ‘We have no other officers to spare’ excuse I spotted about a mile off). OK I could stand corrected when I read the 'great revelation' TM but at the moment I’m not impressed with this character at all and didn't like how much the episode focused on him. And the brawl in Quark’s was totally forced and not realistic…come on guys, Klingons-brawl-Quarks, there had to be a more original way to highlight Alden’s anger and fighting prowess!
*Talk city -- while DSN has always focused on its characters rather than bravado and pointless action, it still used to spend a fair whack of its money of FX. We had some pretty amazing effects down through the years yet during episode one not one photon was launched, nor one phaser fired, nothing...it just felt too 'talky' in places. Like a dreaded bottle show that producers churn out when budgets are tight! That’s not to say that the character scenes weren't interesting, because they were, but I was itching for some development elsewhere, off the station, a hint of what’s to come. Maybe I’m reading it too like an episode and was expecting a grand denouncement at the end before the faithful TO BE CONTINUED would flash on screen (and if any show ever did good TBC then it was DSN, they often left you reeling and begging for part 2!).
*American-speak: Sometimes the dialogue was a little too Americanised, or not even that but just not the type of thing the characters would say. Words from Kira didn’t sound like Bajoran expressions…and in Vic’s Alden says to Bashir that he loves ‘the sixties’…considering we are supposed to be in 237-something, which sixties is her referring too. That said it is the only scene with Alden that I actually liked.
*But I must admit that I liked the Jake -development at the end and really hope we get to see how the good doctor and re-motivated young journalist get on in war-torn Cardassia

Still I already have episode two printed and ready to read so it’s a sign that I’m hooked. Would love to hear back from you. Keep up the great work.

My favorite arc involves Jake and Bashir. I love how you've developed a friendship between the two of them, I was hoping the show would do that after "Nor the Battle to the Strong," but they didn't. I'm curious to find out what happened to Endar, which I wasn't before. I'd like to hear more about the Bajoran "traitor" (Emyn?) as well. An interesting character. Not the usual superpatriotic, xenophobic Bajoran.

All of them have been very good, I just think that the episode featuring the backstory of Emyn Lise might have been more appreciated if it ahd been aired a few episodes down the road. I was wondering, why does it take an average of four months for your episodes to come out? Voyager Virtual Season 8/9 has episodes coming out weekly, when they're not in hiatus. I understand that your episodes may be longer, but it might help your popularity if fans and readrs didn't have to wait months on end for new episodes. By the time new ones come out, people have lost their interest and have forgotten about the sight.

Are you going to bring Captain Sisko back this season, or do you intend to have his return turn into a plot arc, spanning into another season?

Thanks for listening, and keep up the fabulous and talented and skilled work.

changed their URLs, I'd really appreciate your letting me
know about them. Thanks.

Earthlink recently granted me additional website space so I
now have room to expand the notes about your site that are
right after the link. Please take a minute to check what
I've said about your site and let me know what changes
you'd like me to make to them. In particular, if I don't
list your state or country of origin, I'd like to know what
it is. People that use the list seem to enjoy seeing where
the sites are; it gives them a feel for the geography of
DS9 fandom.

As always, if you haven't set up a reciprocal link to my
site, it would be great it you would. Thanks.

Lastly, I'd never forgive myself if I didn't mention that
Criterion Press published my DS9 novel, Dreadnought. The
Dreadnought page on my site has all the information about
how people can get a copy. If you know of anyone who might
be interested in reading a full-length DS9 story featuring
the original crew, please pass the word on to them. Thank
you.

Sincerely,

Wayne Schmidt

Comments:Thank you ladies for some smooth, true to trek, true to
character writing. I do have one beef about your beef- this
Endar Alden top gun wannabee or whatever. I understand trek
needs its cowboys, but the dialogue between him and his new
C.O. was past fantasy and into the surreal. I can't
reconcile a Marine commando with all the whining. Do you
really suppose the Kira character would tolerate a second
who was so obviously mentally distu
Your favorite WYCBT character: the good doctor, of course
