Pat Tillman and his family have entered my thoughts many times since Pat enlisted. Your video is great! I've often wondered if the Tillman family would ever think about putting out a book or something that lets us into Pat and Kevin's life a little more. I have a one year old son and would love to raise him to have some of the qualities of of the Tillman boys.

To Steve from Chris Valentine

To Steve:

Pat joined the after 9/11 and wanted to go after the religious extremists lead by bin Ladin in Afghanistan. He final got to go after a tour of duty in Iraq. He hated our invasion of Iraq and said so... ask his family.

Iraq is the greastest mistake in U.S history and bin Ladin was applauding when we invaded and took out the secular Hussein. The perception by most of the Arab/Muslim worl is that we are Imperialists. While that is not true, this perception (by way of this mis-guided war) has provided the exact "fanning of the flames" that bin Ladin hoped would be the result of his attacks. We have caused this by by falling victim to fear. We have changed, but we didn't have to, we let bin Ladin win. This is what bin Ladin intended and you Steve are a classic victim. Bush has only made things worse by employing fear as his number one tool for campaign success. And that is as evil as it gets.

Nice site. Great tribute slide. I must say, though, that I disagree with your assessment on the Bush Administration, the invasion of Iraq, the reasons behind it and your opinion that it made our security worse--- when in fact, there is evidence to the contrary. I also find it hard to believe the claims that Pat did not "support' the invasion. He was a soldier. A Ranger. "'Nuff Said". That said, I do respect your opinion and, as a fellow American, would defend to the death your right to express it. Why? Because that's what courageous soldiers like Pat died for. And, regretfully, many more will have to do so for our country to survive, both here in the present time and far into the future. America is the good guy in the world. We do the heavy lifting for anyone who needs it. And thank God for the very few Pat Tillmans who come along and defend our freedoms and do the heavy lifting for the rest of us so we can remain free. God Bless him.

Chris - amazing contribution to attempts to understand what happened to Columbia. I don't know whether I agree with you regarding Cdr Husbands last words, but I do agree that the crew must have been aware certainly some minutes if not 10s of minutes before loss of signal of various equipment 'off lines'. I fnd it extraordinary from your video that with loss of engine tyre pressure in the left wing there was not some dialogue ground/capsule about the failure as surely they were staring a vVERY difficult landing in the face, prior to subsequent loss of Columbia. I remember as a 13yr of watching the launch of Columbia in 1981 with John Young and Bob Crippen. I was captivated then and continue to be captivated today. Do you know of any sources of Flightdeck video for reentries apart from Columbia all the way from reentry interface to landing ? Best wishes and congratulations on such an informative site

Great work Chris. There's a good share of meaningful documentary and text publications out there that try to truthfully describe where we are headed, but yours is the first I've seen that uses the power of music and image to try and make the point. That can move us in a way that informational material can't always do. Fantastic job; blessings in what you are trying to do.

Hi, Chris, just found your site and happened to be 'reviewing' STS-107 Columbia disaster again. . . with launch of STS-121 Discovery less than 2 days from now! (07/01/06)

Your 'live video' re-creation of the disaster was truly amazing and '1 of a kind' . . . I never have seen anything like it . . .and it does help with understanding of that horrible day. I totally agree . . .Commander Husband said 'feelin' the heat' !?!?!? Omygod!?!

Next, I viewed your tribute to Columbia and NASA, and I was simply floored, your ability with video and imaging is simply 'beyond this world'

Your tribute causes emotion of sadness, pride, and most of all perseverence, and I wish all Americans could see it! It is incredibly honoring to those lost in space shuttle Columbia that day, and to their families. Thank you so much!

I wonder, have you ever considered contacting NASA especially about your tribute video? Seems like something they would want to run on the NASA TV channel?

Again, thank you so much for your amazing work and contribution and sharing it with the world. You have a truly incredible gift and ability to communicate via this media!

Good luck and Godspeed!

Chris, I tried to email you, but the email address you have on your website didn't work. It bounced back as undeliverable. If you do see this, please write back. I just wanted to say again how awesome and moving your video "And For Other Purposes" was. I've shown it to some of my friends, and they were also deeply affected by it. I actually had a sort of "request" for another space exploration theme video about SpaceShipOne. After seeing the first private suboribital space flight and when SS1 won the X-Prize, I am really excited about the day when regular people will finally be able to fly in space.

I don't remember exactly how, but I just found your
website tonight, and I saw your video, "And For Other
Purposes," tribute to the Space Shuttle Columbia crew.
I know you intended it also as a tribute to
exploration, but the later half about Columbia really
affected me. I just wanted to say that it was VERY
well done and very moving. The part where you had a
collage of the crew happy and carrying out their
routine in space, and then the later "countdown"
segment showing the tension at NASA mission control
while Columbia was breaking up in re-entry is
something I'll remember for a very long time.
Actually, there are too many things to single out
about the video. It was very touching and very well
done.

Nice job, well done video's. By the way, how long does it take to train a suicide bomber? 2 weeks, 2 months or 20 years? Think about it.

The Fishin's great.

You have it all wrong. We need to show strength of force and firm resolve against those that kill innocent people. This is national defense for an attack on the US Homeland on September 11, 2001. Please do not join the bleeding-heart liberals that criticize but have no plan of their own.

Since you have every other worthy cause on your site why not have something about how we are forgoing rational thought fearing the homosexual communitee so much that we feel the need to keep them segregated and therefore less than equal? Nice job on the video, Chris. I share your sentiments about NASA 100% - these people are truly diamonds in a dustbowl (of government - corporate moral bankruptcy).

I think the shuttle is the most awesome thing mankind has ever created. I know, the Saturn moonrockets were taller, but the Shuttles are the first true "spaceships". The first of any kind of thing is always rough around the edges, shaky, and dangerous - but if there are crews willing to take the risk of flying them then we should support these folks all the way.

We love you, NASA! ;^)

To the Lt. Col,

Why don't you post a real email address?

I am offended by your statement that I am supporting the terrorist. If you actually believe that you are a blind and evil person...because you could not be farther from the truth.

The "millions" of people Saddam killed were his perceived enemies...many, if not most of them would have been participating inthe insurgency today. They were the fundamental Islamistists that are making the world a dangerous place.

America has done much good by ridding Iraq/the world of Saddam, but inso doing they we have created terrorism central out of Iraq. Maybe if we had a half a million troops in Iraq we could solve this, but it is not going to happen.

At like it or not our action has help invigorate and spread the fundamental/violent/hateful presence of Islamic terrorism.

Mr. Bush (and apparently you) have aided Osama bin Ladin beyond his wildest dreams by your action of invading Iraq. bin Ladin's ugly "movement" is growing because of your simple mindedness.

I am trying to stop terrorism by not falling for bin Ladin's bait, but you have supported terrorism. Perhaps the Iraqi's have a better situation, but America and the world has been put into a terrible security situation by our actions in Iraq.

I sleep perfectly fine, you my friend, pray for all the innocent lives that have been lost because of your stupidity.

Why don't you do a video that shows the millions Saddam killed instead of your support for the terrorists? Those people, and yes I was out there you weren't, were suffering like you can't imagine and the US and UK soliders have saved them. When you see the tears of an Iraqi grandmother, thanking you for ridding them of Saddam you would think again. You only serve the terrorists. I hope you can sleep at night.

David,

I'm anti Iraq war...

I thought we were better served going after bin Ladin

Iraq had a secular Baathist dictator... ruthless and bad, but his control kept Iraq from having any radical Islamists footholds in the country, namely al queada. Now it is club med for terrorists.

The weapons inspectors continually said they had no evidence of WMD, but the Bush administration arrogantly ignored the experts and the opinions of our friends and allies around the world. The damage incurred to our world reputation will echo for decades.

The Arab world as a whole now is becoming more and more motivated to carry out acts against America due to the preception that we are imperialists. I'm not saying that's what we are, but they think we are. The Iraq invasion has led to thousands of innocent deaths and is going to directly lead to more...this didn't have to be!

What is with the pro Iraq war people? I respect your opinion and would never ask you to leave the country just because you feel we should invade another country and I didn't think it was a smart constructive move. Your statement is so damningly unAmerican it makes me sick. I'm in awe of you folks in the military and and have many good conversations with members of all branches of the service, but if you truly believe that someone shouldn't shout out when they think their country is going to make a mistake... then you are have no respect for our founding fathers and the incredible idea known as America! This country was born out of dissention.

Military or not your post is abjectly un American. I don't know if you're a Republican or Democrat, but I'd bet my immortal soul that if BIll Clinton had made the exact same moves as Bush, the Right might have been burning crosses on the Whitehouse lawn protesting against is actions. Something tells me you wouldn't have found that so un American.

Thanks for your service. My son just turned 18 and if not for the myopic Bush administration, I'd love for him to enlist.
