I'm not too computer savy so that is only a guess. I fell in love with The General and Doctor Sheppard. I read the prequel and the sequel. You have now got me addicted to NCIS slash fanfic. This is just my opinion but I think the Stargate fandom would not be as interesting if you hadn't posted your work. I also just want to say a personal thank you for making me feel less like a freak and for letting me see that other people enjoy some of the things I do. Also have you read Keira Marcos's spin on your universe? I love it and was just wondering what you thought about it?

Comments:Dear Xanthe£ºI love your great stories so much.

Recently I saw many your fiction Chinese translations again. They are about NCIS. I think I need to show my appreciation directly.

I've read your fics for many years. At early time ,most of them are X-file fics. Such as 24/7, Subterfuge,The Adversary .... They are so wonderful. Many people translated them into Chinese. But my English is poor, so I can only read the translation of them.

Now I just want to say thanks to you for your great stories. You know many people love your stories, even we can't express our appreciation correctly and in time.

And it's all because of your story, 'Hiding in Plain sight'. I love SGA and at first when I statred to read it, I went, Ok, who are these people? I researched went ok, and continued to read.

By the time I finished your fic, I was in love with Gibbs. Totally. So, I decided to watch it. And thus I was turned into a NCIS lover. And I thank you for it. In two short weeks you changed me! I love all your fics, they are works of art. Your novel length fiction is like sitting down with a good book in a comfortable chair. All I can say is wow. And thank you for writing!

What, in your opinion, do you think their thoughts, opinions, hopes might be regarding their brand new President?

Maybe, strictly from the 24/7 universes p.o.v.
Maybe, from all of the above mentioned.

Your handling of so many different characters and/or pairings is to be envied and comes across as so easy to visualise. I'd been retricting myself to only searching for and reading NCIS and also loved Andy, but I couldn't resist reading The General and Dr Shepard and then of course I had to take a look at Coming Home. I think I've read all of your NCIS and Atlantis fics now so I've started on another of my old likes with your X Files fics. 24/7 is brilliant and Subterfuge. I could go on for ages about all your many and varied works but in short I think you easily rate as the best fandom writer I've come across and I look forward to reading anything new you have in the pipeline. - I would really like to read a HIPS sequel dealing with the NCIS characters as I think there's so much left to be revealed.

Comments:Hey hey. Just finished reading your Coming Home story (which I found through Titanium Whip Awards), and while I know nothing about Stargate...I enjoyed it muchly.

I love stories that take their time in developing the relationships they're about rather than rushing things, and I could count on one hand the number of BDSM stories I read where the dynamic between the dom and the sub didn't irk me in one way or another. So Coming Home was a real treat. Romantic and hot, and with enough obstacles to keep it interesting. Well-written too, which in a way is just as important.

Thanks a lot for writing and sharing! :) And now I'm off to read General & Dr Sheppard.

I'm truly addicted to your stories right now and I have to read them almost every day! Incidentally I've found 24/7 in the German translation a couple of months ago and I loved it. Meanwhile I've been reading almost all original X-Files stories (and usualy I'm much to lazy to read anything in a foreign language!). You are writing so brilliantly, I just adore your style! First I was afraid, what to do, when soon having finished all Skinner/Mulder stories - but by now I'm sure, I will love your other series too. (I'm actually a German girl who has never seen any X File stuff on TV and I'm neither gay or something or into BDSM... anyway)
Still, I hope there will be a sequel to "Frontiers" and "nexus". Maybe sometimes in the future? ;-)

I'll keep on reading. Thank you so much!

Yes, I've got some mental prohibitions, but your writing really brings the guys (ALL of 'em!) to life. You don't do one or two dimensional characters, and *I* find your scenarios intriguing, thoughtful, and... really sexy.

So, from a reluctant fan (and please don't take that wrong: my issues are MINE, not yours), please court your muse... 'Cause I really would love to read more McShep!

Comments:Our new garden
Germany, 25.12.2006

Dear Ladies,
last year, we (my twinsister and I) wanted to invite Jennie to visit us. Then we realized that we do not have a big enough guestroom where we live now and so we decided to build a new house. It turned out, that it is A Place to Smile and we have Hope, that we will never get Bored to plan and plant our first garden down a southwest hillside. The view is simply gorgeous over rolling hills and woods. HollyIlexs name gave us the idea, to honour her with a real "Ilex Blue Angel" and we decided to plan our garden as a tribute to our favorite Ladies in the net.
So, beside the Ilex, there will be lots of Tulips for Orithain and Sunflower(-seed)s for Jami Wilsen.
In summer we will sit in our Garden of Earthly Delights under Ursulas Cherry (Blossom) Tree. And in winter we will sip the Dark Cherry Whine that we are going to make from the fruits, in our library (unter a picture of Mr.Steven Townsends favorite subjects: working dogs).
Gaby and Raven have two araucarias (monkey puzzles) ... just in front of the shack.
Because ours is no Stepford garden, Mort gets Thorns with at least 42 "Barrayaran Roses" (please, check the beautiful song from Maureen S. O`Brian at: www.cordula.ws/barrayar.html).
Lorelei`s place is the spacious redwood deck, where we can watch our picnic table and sip some Lynchburg Lemonade with our elderly neighbor.
For Ruth we will plant bambus and hazelnuts (you know what for?) along the fence.
Xanthes place is a carefully designed "antique roman" sitting area, with white and golden oleander and lilac - enclosed by taxus-hedges and stone columns. We don`t know her personally, but we imagine her splendid enough, to fit in there.
Zoe, Loren and Louise get the three deep red "Japan Arcons" in front of the house.
And the white, lilac and blue wisterias, that will cover most of the house are for Dr.Ruthless, because she gave us Shelter from the Storm.
There will be Moonlight and Roses (of the "Alexander" variety) for laurel.
And we will think of Xcraft, whenever we trimm the boxwood bushes or pick up the nettles ...
We are not going to grow Narcissus for LeFey, because we are Literary Bent and she can have the library.
Although we have four floors, we will not have an elevator, but we named the banana tree in the stairway-hall "Otis" for Shan.
Because ramps don`t grow here, Peach will definitively have Gladiolus "Peach Blossom" outside and a little peach tree beside the Apples and Oranges for Aries in the winter garden ... a place where we can rest Mind, Body and Soul (no Admission with phones in there, except her "phone series" on paper!).
The new house is on top of a bigger hill called "Ant" and we can overlook all the woods down to France. So this year was our first Halloween on the Mountain ... and in one of the next years we will have a steam room next to our indoor swimming pool, where we will feel not Uncomfortable at all, thinking of Amazon Xs stories.
Derwent spinks esq.s winter nights & summer days inspired us for a swing porch on the redwood deck and another one inside one of our living rooms.
And the Blackbird Singing In The Dead Of Night will hopefully be Gaining Trust enough, to feast in "Lady Midaths birdhouse".
Whenever we have a Rainbow in our garden, we will feel with Maggie M a Perfect Moment.
We will be Waiting for the Rain with KinkyGrrl Diane, because we have a cisterne, that will keep the water for all the flowers.
To get us through Those Hot Winter Nights, in addition to the normal floor-heating we have two open fire places in the house and one for barbecue outside, so Ratadders place will be our big logpile (already very popular with the little emerald green lizards, that live here).
Loving her "Brown-Eyed blues", the gold-copper irisis are for Ganymede, while the bright blue ones (Iris sibirica) are for Claire Dobbin and the russian rat in her Your Home is My Home.
After the Rain we can sit on Imajirus bench, made out of a big tree, we had to cut down, to eat Alex's Interactive Midnight-Sugar-Craving Cookie Bars.
We are not rich enough to own one of Mr.Carl Brenders pictures, but we will have a copie of "Companions" (that we re-named "Alex and Walter") for Wolfens over the fireplace.
A nearby monastery, where you can buy over 600 different sorts of evy, provided us with plants to cover half of Sleeps with coyotes 22m x 3m wall (that keeps the house from tumbling downhill). We used The Ties That Bind to fix D.W. Chongs purple, blue and white clematis to the rest of the wall.
You can see the Measure of (our) Devotion for MJ Lee on the solid rows of natural stone walls, that we build in the last few weeks from the various sandstones we found in the ground. They are already occupied by lots of small animals.
The biggest stone (looks a lot like a huge square box) will be used to make some sort of fountain. Water will run over the smooth surface, to create a place for the birds to bath ... and it will be Josans place, because her (and Noirceurs) stories are very special to us.
We have ten different colors of hollyhocks to cheer up Kayljay and Lovers and Ghosts can sit with us beside torchs (... no, not the Shack 87, our shack is already occupied by the sinful slashers) blue summer lilac.
But - as much as we love Zen&nancys Heroin - we are not going to grow THAT special variety ... just the sort "Mother of Pearl" poppies for them.
A Delicate Touch is, what we need for Lianne Burwells bluebells, the weeping hearts we plant for Maddie and Brenda Antrims Lavendula pinnata "Sidonie" are already growing strong.
Under the Greenwood tree is in Demi Xs case in the shadow of a gentle chestnut tree, that will provide us in autumns to come with delicious roasted chestnuts.
The big 18.h. french style knot-pattern with 420 boxwood plants is for Anna and Amy B. and the joy they gave us with Night Visitor, There and Back, With the Night, Losing Control, Tender Mercies, and That Song.
We have no Fallen Angel for Peja, but an "Azure Fairy", a variety of Delphinium grandiflorum, that we hope she will like too.
For Betagoddess Helen we ordered from a garden-shop, specialized for Canadian plants Lupinus argenteus in a brilliant blue.
Right now, we are creating pebble mosaics for our garden paths in honour of The Theban Band.
To create a Twilight Zone for Queen of Denial, we bought 3000 old bricks, that will build a romantic wall... including a gothic window frame made of red sandstone for Cadillac Red.
Last, but not least, it was hart work, to find "Blue Satin", a fuchsia and the favourite plant of Biani.
Kadorienne and Margaret Price share the very englisch country garden and the very german wooden bench in front of the house.
The elfan muses of nightwing, Esteliel, Ana Library Elf , Milady Hawke, Peaceangel, Sindaliessien, crimsonsenya, Makiko Igami and daw, the minstrel will have the birches and pines at the end of the garden.

As soon as we have everything growing, we will send you a plan and a picture of your plant. And if you like to have a look for yourself ... we do now have a nice guest room!
A Merry Christmas to all of you, with love, The Terrible Twins

I find myself going back and re-reading them over and over again until you have a new story! What I think I love most about your stories is I can tell you really care for the characters and how you have Carson/John/Rodney care about each other. They are really love stories! Also love how you bring whumpage into them, what would an Atlantis story be be without whumpage and Rodney whumping especially!! Hope to see lots of more stories from you and I have this website and your LJ saved as favorites! Thanks so much for writing stories for us and then for sharing them with us!!

I love the way you write, that there is more than just sex to the stories but that the sex is pretty damn hot! You manage to write erotic fiction in a way that actually is erotic rather than just toe-curlingly embarassing :-)
I think what I'm really trying to say is that I like your writing and I'll keep reading it as long as you keep writing it.
Thanks

Although I haven't read your newer fandoms I've read many of the X-Files and West Wing stories. What impresses me the most is the emotions that I get from reading your stories. A lot of them are very powerful. Some of them make me feel as though there is so much joy in the world that we overlook everyday and how we take for granted the love that we have in our lives, like 24/7 and Contagium. Others show just how scary the world can really be, such as Lifeline and Contagium. The fact that you can bring out emotions, with or without sex in the story line shows that you are an exceptional writer.

i just read ur letter posted in www.jjwxc.com, and i do wanna say thx to u. i am totally into ur X files stories, esp. 24/7 and Sweet Dreams. They'r so sweet & trilling!!

BTW, i am from China, but i am now in the UK. i know there are gay/lesbian books sold in Waterstone, so i searched the website of Waterstone and google for 24/7, but i was disppionted. it'a really ashame that u haven't got a book published, but i am glad that u planed to write an original character BDSM slash novel. i do look forward to it.

as to slash, at first i didn't know what it really meant, so i asked one of my friends, who is a home student, and she told me as a slang, slash meant pee. i was confused about if for weeks:-)

have a good easter!

I want to take the opportunity to thank you for all the music vids you've made for the x-files. You're talented! The songs and the scenes match so perfectly, and I was deeply attracted by the beautiful music after watching the vids. Now I enjoy them on my mp3 player everyday :)

Speaking of the vids, maybe it's just my overactive imagination, but I love the "Bad Boys Get Spanked" vid most 'cause I can connect it with your "24/7" very well--especially the last 20 secs of the music--by connecting the singer's moans with Mulder's when he is in floggings conducted by Skinner....(oops, I am getting nosebleedings...)

Hello! Xanthe~ I read your great novel "24/7" which was translated into Chinese by ASPA and many other translator. Since it's such a long story, I thanks them very much, for I may never have a chance to meet this great novel without their work.

But, hey! The greatest person is you!

I should admit that at first I couldn't accept the life style you've shown to me. To most of Chinese, BDSM is regarded as a crime. But, soon I just found something that *HIT* my heart. And from then on, tears were my companion in my reading_no, no, that's not because of frighten, but for love. I should say that I envy them. Mulder in your story helped me. I think I'm a little bit similar to him: I hate my father, my elder brother died in front of me, my family is a battlefield, and I myself no very care of whether I'll die tomorrow or next second. But(so many *but*...:) he encourages me never give up to find a love. He teaches me never forget how to love...

Oh, "24/7" gives me so much! It changes me. I am reading it in English now~ All I can do is to write such a letter to you_full of enthusiasm and grammar mistakes:P

So, *you're great! Thank you very much, and, I love you!* Those are what I want to say to you, directly, not just by letters.:)

Hey, I'm looking your Guestbook now. Glad to find there so many Chinese! This finding makes my smiling.

Effected by your great novels ,I become like the Skinner very much. So, I decided to watch the X-File. It's a good show. Though the figure of Mitch Pileggi is not completely similar with my imagination by reading your novel. But after a while ,I like him as well.
So,thank you very much!
And hope you can continue your writing.
Hope you can understand my chinese-english.(^-^)

Bravo....and do take a bow please!! This is the most incredible erotica/dark eros that I have ever read!
I am a woman, straight, but I have always wondered how anyone could receive pain/pleasure together and get off on it.

This is so sensually written..and filled with such passion...and even though its about two men...master and slave...there is a bond between them and its rough and tough and tender...and awesome to read.

I have read erotic stories..and this is the best with an excellent plot to it.

I dont know if you write all the time or not for a living although I think you might from the throughness of the writing here..but if you dont write..you should!!

I would like to share how I found this in the first plase. I was at an adult site and came across some words in the BDSM languange that I didn't know the meaning of. So I went to BDSM glossary and found your work while in the process of trying to find the glossary..I must say...this is much more interesting..and I am now on chapter 11...Ring, Master?

I have no idea how many more chapters there are to go or if the story is ongoing..but I must tell you..I am hooked...

Mary :)

I am an Italian girl of 31 (yes, a GIRL; I don't feel like 31!), I teach English and German in a private school in Milan. I am quite a recent fan of the X-Files, and I bought all the series up to Season 6 in DVD. My mother was a fan, too: when there was nothing on TV, she said: "Oh, please, put an X-File on!" So, we saw a lot of episodes.
I appreciate your characterization of Mulder, Scully and Skinner; I think you are a very talented author. And I can say your "Here with Me" video is simply AMAZING! Go on like that!!! You are great!!!
Just a question: are you from UK? Just curious...If so, which town? Bye again!

Comments:I wanted to tell you that you write the best x-files fanfiction on the net today. Between you and Diana Williams no fanfiction has a chance. I was heartbroken to read that you may not write anymore. I don't usually respond in any fashion to authors of net fiction but I wanted you to know that I was a fan.

I unfortunately have been in your shoes before. When you do something that you love so much and other people expect you to fulfill their expections of your work it becomes disheartening quickly. Of course, the constant bickering and put-downs that go on on the lists are horrible also. I personally only sign up for groups or lists if they are only for the purpose of informing me when new fiction is written. I just don't like to be a part of the bickering and unfounded criticism.

I have also lost a muse before. I was upset as you are about the x-files show not having a point that I almost completely quit watching it after the fourth year myself, only watching it erratically. With no muse writing becomes hollow and ugly. I can only hope that you will find your muse again because fanfiction will loose a great writer if you never return.

forever a fan, Lynda

P.S. I wanted to tell you about an author that is providing me musey material lately...try Laurell K. Hamiliton. Her stories leave me wanting for more and for me that is a rarity.

Comments:xanthe,

i've only been reading fanfic for a few months (never knew
it existed until i was researching a paper on katabatic
literature and happened upon a buffyfic) but i am *totally*
addicted to your stories.

i prefer the sk/m pairings (something too gyno about
hetfic; ick ick ick!)

my favourite stories are 'november/ spellbound'
and 'after'. i prefer angsty stuff but you also got me
interested in bdsm and i enjoyed 'the angle', 'subterfuge'
and '24/7' (but some of it was a little squicky for me, i
must confess!)

you write angst, adoration and romance very well and
without descending into sentimentality or downright
syrupyness :)

also, i LOL at 'identity crisis'!!

in short, i'll be back and i'll tell anyone who'll listen
about your work!!

Comments:Hi! I was introduced to your site from another site. You
are a terrific writer! I've just finished reading Contagium.
Wow! Brilliant story! It kinda reminded me of The Stand,
which I believe is the best Stephen King novel. I love the
Scully/Skinner stories. Mitch Pillegi is HOT! I love Walter
Skinner! Sigh~ Anywayz, just wanted to say 'hey'. Just
obtained X-Files Season 4 & 5 trading cards. Awsome, of
course. By the way, I used to wanted Mudler and Scully to
end up together, however to quote one of my favorite books,
Emma: Who can think of Mulder or any other guy, when Walter
Skinner is near!(note: I have changed the names to suit WS.
Keep up the good work, Xanthe! I'm off to indulge myself
with another story of yours. I've written some fanfics
myself at fanfiction.net, by the way, my stories sucks. You
can check it out if you want. It's under RangerMarcus. Ciao.

ago by stumbling across the Phantom menace Master and
Apprentice website and got hooked. But that was the only
slash or fanfic site (and later, mailing list) that I
really knew until a reccommendation by Mac a brilliant M&A
writer regarding your fic Substitute, led me to your site
and your writings. I read Substitute- well, devoured it,
actually. And- Well. What can I say.
Look, normally I cant be bothered to watch X-files. Id
never even noticed Skinner. Your characterisations of
Skinner and Mulder in that story were so brilliant its
forced me to actually tape some shows! Then, I read 24/7.
Good Grief! Id never read any BDSM fic, and though squicked
by some of it - (fisting! uurrggh!) couldnt put it down. As
someone who is a published author in RL -though not for a
few years- I feel reading the best fanfic writers is like a
masterclass in learning to write. Im awed and jealous. No,
i think ill put that in capitals - I'M AWED AND JEALOUS,
XANTHE! I now check your site regularly and have started
reading Mulder/Skinner slash. As it takes me ages to write
stories i dont know when I'll get round to doing one
myself. All I can say is Im now a Xanthe fan, even though
Im not into spanking/discipline fic (despite being a
Brit :) ). As they say in the US of A YOU GO GIRL!

prodigious. You have a wonderful gift, and I say gift
because I love to read and believe it or not books that I
either bought or borrowed from the library some can't even
compete with things that you yourself wrote and I'm not
just saying that to score brownie points with you because
we don't even know each other.
Lets see so far I read 24/7 humor, angst, romance, and spanking
its to long for me to go into more detail.Than I read R&R
what can I say Walter,Pot,chocolate,the giggles,a stern
Ranger, and Skinners bare perfectly round mound of silkey
white flesh bent over a chair ready for a spanking. Then
just to add to his humilation he find him self draged over
to a couch an put over the knee of the Ranger for a hand
spanking, after the Ranger finish paint brushing his poor
butt a crimson red he became very contrite.
To my amasement I find out it was Fox and it was all a game
great ending.
The Anniversy well next to my favorite.Never knew Walt wore
contact lenses,Rod Stewart love that voice. The place he
took Fox for dinner French windows,Large wooden dance
floor, a five piece band and all that because he loves Fox.
My favorite which I just read today and e~mail you about
is Driftwood so I won't go into that again, but what I
love about all that you write is the romance the bond
between them also the way you go into deep detail in
describing Walter Skinner you have him down to a science.I
personnaly think he is one hot babe.
Well I'm getting tired I only get home a little while ago
but love to relax and read some hot stuff before bed and
boy some of your stories really get me lets say excited.
Hope I didn't bore you to death.Have a great day!

to be honest (and a little grovelly) I like virtually
everything. I'm not as keen on your BDSM stuff but do love
the character driven stories. I just wish you did more
Skinner/Krycek 'love' stories - they are definitely my fav
characters.

Here's a little something you and others might want to read
at:
http://slate.msn.com/Features/fanfic/fanfic.asp

It's an article about fanfic, obviously. The writer
mentioned he interviews something like 20 fanfic writers so
you might already be aware of this. Skinner fic is brought
up specifically. WPadmirer and the Skinner/Carter fic too,
along with the whole slash phenomena. If nothing else, the
graphic of Spock and Kirk in bed smoking cigarettes is a
hoot.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the article.

Thanks for hours of fun, Sky
