I am a Canadian legal Female citizen who happens to be a male to female transexual, married 35 years and counting. Three grown kids and I started Maritime Transgendered Workplace Issues while I returned to colleg at age 56. We appear to be coming from two directions with similar messages. Primarily that education of the general public and especially in schools is so important. I find the educationalists to be quite transphobic and to be honest I have had some bad experiences trying to communicate with people I know to be gay who are so afraid it will draw attention on them that they blind side me. I wish you the best in your endevour and I placed my site for your inpection should you wish. I also write for Wayves, the Atlantic Gay paper out of Halifax. Please consider reporting and writing articles fo the paper. The editorial team would love to see more material from NewBrunswicks smaller communities, especially if they include pictures. I was so pleased to come across this web site while surfing the Net. My church, Bedford United Church in Bedford, Nova Scotia will become an Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada. That means we make a public welcome to members of the Rainbow Community! Maybe you some of you can join us on May 7, 2006 at 10 am for our special service. See our web site for more info. We have several lesbian women at our church and they bring their kids to church with them. They are such great people.
I am going to use your site as one of the resources at our Rainbow display table. By the way, I'm "straight but not narrow" and working for more than just tolerance of GLBT people, but total acceptance! Keep up the great work! | |

thats great. i'm glad we had an impact on someone during our little presentation with you guys..are you the person i was talking with on BCJ? becaue as soon as we get all our shit together, and decide waht we're doing this year i will bmail you. and get your friends involved! its' still an ongoing problem in KV. just the other day a gay friend of mine was late for class..he knocked on the door, and one guy yelled "DONT LET HIM IN, HES A FUCKING FAGGET!" and one other guy said "there is an extra locker next to mine, but i dont want you next to me." seriuosly, i can't belive the guy said that. goes to show how ignorant people can be at times...this is all a load of crap..people have to stop being so closed mined towards others. we're all the same..people have to realized that. despite differences, EVERYONE deserves fair treatment. no matter what. at the moment i'm just enjoying typing, lol. I hope this year will be a very successful year with project e. anyway, i should stop boring you all..lol. i'll talk with you all later. (and good luck in ontairo ashley :)

I think the whole Idea of project E is not only really cool, but important!! I'm a student just out of grade nine at KV.. and when Andrew and Shawna came to my class, I found everything really interesting that they had to say. It's a really great thing to make people stop and think about themselves and the people around them. | |

project e was featured in this week's HERE edition YET AGAIN.. and john and i have been working on the funding status.. we went to see brenda fowlie (MLA).. and she redirected us to her assistant who is helping us make a business plan and hook us up with the nb youth advisory council..more deetz to come as we work away on it.. | |

Well Ashley, it's too bad this idea wasn't thought of sooner. But we made it far enough and have had the support, and I'm surprised. People have become more open these last few years and it's a good thing to see. I hope to continue on with this project next year, you will be greatly missed. The harassment against gays has got to stop, and at least we're going to try and open people's minds more. Next year, don't forget us, I know you wouldn't. I and all the others will continue with this and turn it into the project you hoped for but it has already come so far. Thank you Ashley, for everything. well. it makes me happy to see that pple have been signing and checkin out the lovely website jenna has set up :)
i guess chapter one of the project is over for now... proud to say that we have educated group leaders from each district 6 high school, bellisle students, hampton students, kvhs students, and kvhs staff.... as i said.. chapter one has come to a close.. however the next chapters will begin to unfold over the summer.. in the fall.. PALS and Sussex will hopefully do their presentations.. and over the summer i'll be pitching it to fredericton.. so we shall see... to the pple involved in the first chapter... thank you... i never would have had the courage to do this without your support, hard work and dedication.... hats off to you guys.. i have had all great feedback.. from students, teachers, parents... even the secretaries! it just doesn't get any better than this.... we're reaching out to one person at a time..... and changing the world. thanks guys. | |

Absolutely amazing website, I couldn't tink of a better cause. Andrew, from BCJournal wrote a Journal Entry about it and has, since then, been sending me bits of information here and there. I have shared two testimonies with him he says he would like to use. (I am straight though) Our school was supposed to start a Project like yours, but to our school only and this never happened. No further information has been said other then "We're going to make an organisation to stop anti-homophobic harrassment". I must say, if I was a member of your school or even in District 6 I'd jump right to the occasion. Again, beautiful website for a wonderful cause. Props to you all. | |

hey wow jenna did a great job with the web page but then isn't she always great at stuff like that among others...just to let you all know project e is the first time i've ever ben involded in anything ever but this is really needed i know personaly this subject effects me and many others and a big hell ya to ashley for haveing the balls and the deication to do this and see it though...i wanan say hey to hampton my group you guys have great ideas!! can't wait to make our own video !!! i just have so much to say lol this is the greats thing to see an issue like this being brought out and addressed properly maybe this is a step towards better understanding education for enlightenment for everyone couldn't have picked a better this gives me such hope you wouldn't belive anyways i'm gona shut up now

this site is awsome, i can't beleive how far this has come in only a few months. i am very excited to be apart of this project, it is an extreamly worthy cause. the credit for getting this whole thing together belongs to ashley, who seems to know exactly what she wants and how to do it. your an awsome leader. hopefully someday all of this prejudice bullshit can be put behind us all!!
