I am cooming on Sept 19/o8. I was suppose to see my grama, whom I haven't seen for years. Unfortunately Grama passed away in June. But Viv is waiting for me. I am bringing my son and his girlfriend. We are hoping to meet alot of relatives and make many new friends. I hope to see Wanda Haley also. I had just found her here in Red Deer,AB, then she moved home to Yarmouth 4 days later. Anyway can't wait to see my family and Yarmouth and have some great Lobster. Till Sept. Chiara |

| Comments: | I know it has been a really long time(about 38 years) since I was in Yarmouth. We are coming on September 18/08. I am coming with my son and his girlfriend. And possibly my daughter. They was suppose to finally meet my grama, Hilda Jacquard, and my auntie Viv for the first time ever. I know grama was really looking forward to this, but grama passed away on June 6/08. So we are going to see my auntie Viv and hopefully my aunt Cindy will come up from North Carolina, and bring my cousins and the new baby. I am hoping to meet some other relatives as well. And I hope to see Wanda Haley while I am there. I just got to meet Wanda here in Red Deer back in May and 4 days later she moved back to Yarmouth. So I am looking forward to alot of good times for the week we are there. Family, sites, sounds, and of course Lobster. See ya'll soon. |

| Comments: | I learned about Yarmouth, strangely enough, through an E-harmony promo. I have little interest in E-harmony but am interested in Yarmouth and Nova Scotia in general since I visited your site. I may not find a husband but I think I may have found an interesting vacation site! |
| Name: | Mary Jane |
| E-mail address: | flowergirl1942@aol.com |
| Comments: | I was taking advantage of E-harmony's free matching promo and have deleted everyone but someone from Yarmouth. Not interested in subscribing to E-harmony, but did become interested in looking up Yarmouth. My ancestors are from Aberdeen, Scotland, but seems unlikely that I'll get to go there soon. So was thinking a trip to Nova Scotia might be more likely -- the flavor perhaps, but minus the genealogical element. If anyone from Yarmouth is interested in emailing just for fun (not talking about a romantic thing)I'd be amenable to the idea. |

We are fighting/serving side by side helping a people who have literally nothing, you would have to see it to believe it. Planning on coming home after my tour is done, relaxing, enjoying a slower pace, and having some good Canadian brew! 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles"- Hooah!!! |

| Comments: | We have had a family place in Wellington for ever and some of our favorite things to do are, go to the beach in Port Maitland and see a real sunset over the ocean. Get some lobsters from the new lobster pound out on the rd to Cape Fortune Light and don't forget the light house. If you have the time take a day trip down Digby Neck and catch the ferry over to the 2 island sections of the neck and watch the birds and whales. We just visited a lovely Provential Park Ellenwood Lake just a few miles N of Yarmouth. We take everyone to W Pubnico to see the wind mills and last June we found a nice little spot for lunch called Dave's Cafe where we had creamed lobster poutin. WOW was that good. Food is a little cheaper than in the states so don't be afraid to try things like "rappie pie" & finnin haddy Digby scallops. These people really know how to cook. There are so many things to see but my favorite is always the shoreline of Nova Scotia with their huge tides. Take pictures, your friend won't believe you. |

| Comments: | Hi everyone-- I just found out about an important meeting in Digby on Thursday night to talk about long range ferry plans for SW Nova. It is at the Digby Fire Hall from 7 to 9. If you can't attend the meeting you can give imput with the survey at Marigroup Ltd.Com or send an email to info@mariport.com or call 1-800-319-9997 We lost the airport, the train, a year round boat and we can't afford to loose any more! This effects visitors, tradespeople, fisherman getting product to market and people who go back and forth. They also need some idea of how many people live in the states and have homes in SW Nova ie Yarmouth, Digby and Shelburne counties. Please give them a shout that can be heard all the way to Ottawa! You will find calling very effective too! |

| Comments: | There are so many things to do in Yarmouth--and I love sharing my fun spots with others. 1. The Marble Lady of Chebogue--at the first buriel site down on Town Point Road. It is something to see--and what a great way to get kids interested in learning about the legend. 2. The Old Church on the corner of Town Point Road. The tour busses stop there and you can go inside and see the old furniture, the old pot belly stove and how things were way back 'when'. 3. Sweeney's Fishing Museum--kids of all ages love it. You can even climb up to the wheel house! There is so much to see and do there. And, it is actually a place where you can look up close and carefully touch and learn about Yarmouth's wonderful fishing history. 4. The little draw bridge in Sanford. It is cute and the tour busses go down there daily. You can climb up on it and see how draw bridges work by looking at how it was built. What a great way to inspire little ones. There are so many things to do and see in Yarmouth County. These four are all free or cheap. A guided ride can include showing the old houses with the old windows and teaching how they survived the trip by boat from overseas--way before ships had stablizers. Or, a ride out to see the wind farm--some people have never ever taken the time to go out and see them--a great way to learn about alternative energy and see in real life what some options are. Or, the Museum at Shag Harbour. The spot where something was spotted is clearly marked--and who doesn't still love ET! Pack a lunch to eat outside and you have a day trip. Enjoy your summer program--you just might see me along the way! |

The Sweeney's Fishing Museum down on Water Street--especially for kids. How great to be able to walk into the ship and touch things. Even climb up into the wheel house. 2. The Marble Lady of Chebogue in the cemetary down on Tow Point Road--a wonderful legend to explore and learn about. 3. The church at the corner there--old, wonderful history and furniture and the tour bus stops there daily--things that young ones would be amazed to see-especially the pot belly stove that kept people warm back then. 4. The little draw bridge in Sanford--you can walk on it and it is totally unique. These are some of my favorite things--great for kids of all ages--somethng you can see and do! Big hugs to all. |

All of my childhood summers were spent on Pinkneys Point with my grandparents Mary and Harold B. I have family and very dear friends that live in the Yarmouth area. As a matter of fact, I am visiting again in 3 weeks with my brother and my own 2 children. They are beginning to love Yarmouth as much as I do. We are planning yet another, longer trip for the summer as well. Anyone who knows me from the few "clues" feel free to write. I'd love to hear from you. Signed, The Yankee. All of your observations concerning Clive , his father Dr. H.J. Fulde and his stepmother Ann Trask were absolutely correct and enlightening . Suicide is the response to deep pain and Clive had been terribly wounded in many ugly ways. Just as we had been dealt with in an ugly way . Your responses were courageous and compassionate and helped my husband , Paul Fulde and I keep on keeping on . We've been through a lot of hardship and sadness but the warmth of your responses helped a little with our healing . Perhaps one day we shall meet with those of you who have expressed a desire to do so . There are still many stones left to overturn and Clive's and our names to clear . Till meeting , Christine Fulde |

| Comments: | Hey everyone, Regrets that I will not be able to make the trip home again this year, maybe next year. Only those of us who experienced the joys of small town life can truely lament the regrets we left in the first place or are now unable to return. There have been a lot of truely great and wonderful experiences since I left Yarmouth. I travelled and lived all over the world but at this point in my life I am truely suffering with a major case of homesickness. But It all boils down to priorities I suppose. My family, wife of 41 years, two children, and seven grandchildren, are all here with me, and unless I can figure out a means to pack them all up and bring them to Yarmouth, my visits are going to have to sustain me. What a wonderful idea(dream), moving my entire family to Yarmouth. Life goes on. Best of everything to all you fine folks in Yarmouth. Sandy Christie |

| Comments: | Hi There: It's surprising how fast one gets to miss that which one had. I returned to Yarmouth in August of 2001 and, unfortunately had to head out, again, this past March. I returned to Calgary and will likely be here until the old age kicks in ('won't be long, now.) come 2010. I was there when what was left of the old Capital Theatre came down with a crash. To many of us who spent much of our childhoods in that theatre, it was a sad sight to see. Like a piece of our lives passed on. I also witnissed Ernie's closure. Fortunately, I was able to have a few "Ernie Burgers" before they closed. This past Spring, Loran Fevens recorded one of my works about Yarmouth over his radio program, "Sentimental Journey" which made me awfully proud. As many know, Laurie Smith, the founder of C.J.L.S. was my grandmother's brother. "Sentimental Journey" is truly one fine program and I still listen to it over my computer whenever I get the chance. Kudos to Loran and the staff of the station. Anyway, I enjoy logging on to this site again. I enjoy reading the comments of many, like myself, away from home for various reasons. My best to all. |
