| Comments: | This is exciting to see, but It would be even more exciting if you were doing this in these numbers with Steelhead. Steelhead I feel would have a much bigger impact than coho. Steelhead bite in the Yakima and Naches systems, while the few seasons we have had for Coho in the Yakima have resulted in very few caught. For tablefare, Steelhead are going to be in far better shape than Coho which would benefit both Sport and Tribal Fishers. From an economic view, the Steelhead is going to better simply because they bite and can be caught which would bring in fishers from all around in turn bringing in revenue for the area. I realize this is a greater challenge because of the ESA listing, but maybe a more exstensive wild broodstock collection program would work. |
